Chapter 360: All Drinks Are On Me
Chapter 360: All Drinks Are On Me
Gengar: "Not a ghost—just Gengar."
Other Gengar: "Oh, it's just me—wait..."
A second later, the other Gengar collapsed on the floor.
Julian’s Gengar covered its mouth as it chuckled, feeling a great sense of accomplishment from putting its kin to sleep.
Then, it looked upward. It could sense a powerful Pokémon above. That was probably the one its Trainer had mentioned—up there.
On the floor above, Viktor had been trying to sleep, but no matter how much he tossed and turned, he couldn't fall asleep. The unsettling feeling in his chest was growing stronger.
Only when he saw Banette standing guard did that feeling ease a little.
"I hope I’m just overthinking it," Viktor muttered.
Banette sat beside him, facing away. Its red eyes and zipper-like yellow mouth were locked in a serious expression as it stared at the door.
Banette: 'With me here, no one can hurt my Trainer'
Meanwhile, Gengar walked in through the door, feeling playful, it even waved a hand in front of Banette’s face.
Banette didn’t react at all.
Gengar floated over to Viktor but didn’t act immediately. If it made a move, the mid-Elite-level Banette would definitely notice.
And Hypnosis couldn’t guarantee putting Banette to sleep in the first place.
It was a tricky situation.
But who was Gengar?—the cleverest troublemaker on Julian’s team, no problem was too hard for it.
It glanced at the Poké Balls sitting on the nightstand. Those must belong to Viktor.
Since he was going to sleep, he naturally wouldn’t keep them on his belt. That would hurt his waist, and what kind of man could afford to have a bad back?
Even if that man was an S-rank fugitive.
The button on an empty Poké Ball was different from the button on one holding a Pokémon.
But—
Gengar eyed the three empty Poké Balls.
A Dusknoir, a Gengar, and a Banette, but which one was Banette’s?
It floated around the three Poké Balls, and suddenly saw a sticker of Banette on one of the Poké Balls.
The sticker wasn’t put there by Viktor, but by Banette itself. Viktor never bothered to remove it—after all, Banette was his starter Pokémon.
Gengar smiled and picked up the Poké Ball.
Although its movements were light, Banette still sensed something.
Banette turned its head to look—only to see a red flash, and the next second, it was sucked into the Poké Ball.
Gengar immediately locked the Poké Ball, so it couldn't escape.
The sight immediately jolted Viktor awake—not that he had really been asleep in the first place.
But now, he could finally get a good night’s sleep.
Looking into Gengar's eyes, Viktor fell into a deep slumber.

Back at the bar, Julian, Mark, and Larry continued sitting together, sipping their drinks.
Neither of them asked Julian where he had gone just now.
Though they were drinking, their minds were elsewhere.
Julian, however, was enjoying his beer, pairing it with some snacks—wasn’t this the perfect late-night meal?
Although the Poké Ball containing Slowking continued shaking, expressing its discontent.
After finishing his drink and snacks, Julian noticed the other two still looking troubled. He chuckled. "Senior, Captain Larry, just leave it to me. I’ve got this."
Larry spoke bluntly. "Julian, what exactly is your plan?"
Julian had claimed he had a method, but he never explained it. He just stepped out, then returned saying things were in progress.
If it weren’t for Julian’s reputation and family background, Larry would’ve lost his patience already.
"Plan? Well—oh looks like it worked."
Before Julian could finish his sentence, he spotted someone floating toward the bar entrance.
The sight frightened many of the customers inside.
As the figure drifted toward them, Mark and Larry stood up as if they’d seen a ghost.
"Viktor?!" x2
That’s right—the floating figure was none other than an unconscious Viktor.
"Jie jie"
Gengar appeared from invisibility, revealing itself carrying Viktor over its shoulder.
Strapped around Gengar’s waist was Viktor’s Poké Ball belt. On the way back, it had even taken the liberty of recalling Dusknoir and the other Gengar into their Poké Balls.
After repeatedly checking, Mark and Larry finally confirmed that this really was the S-rank fugitive they had been after—Viktor, a man with dozens of lives on his hands.
The proof was right in front of them, yet they still couldn’t believe it.
Even Mark, who had always trusted Julian’s ability, found it incredible.
Julian had merely stepped out for a while, then returned to drink with them. And in just about an hour, Gengar had already carried Viktor back.
And the entire operation had been carried out without any involvement from them or the city’s law enforcement.
"Good job."
Julian praised, patting Gengar on the head.
Gengar possessed absolute invisibility—an ability that was practically unsolvable. Even Julian’s grandfather’s Champion-level Metagross had tried to detect it before.
And yet, under Gengar’s absolute invisibility, not even a Champion-level Metagross could sense its presence—unless it used a large-scale attack to cover the entire area, forcing Gengar to reveal itself.
With this ability, Gengar had been able to sneak up on Viktor and put him to sleep without a sound—though luck had played a part as well.
Lick
A familiar numbing sensation spread through Julian. Without missing a beat, he calmly reached into his pocket and pulled out a Cheri Berry.
Mega Pallet Town physique can’t even withstand Gengar’s paralysis—bad review.
And after being paralyzed so many times, he still hadn’t developed any resistance?—more bad reviews.
The appearance of a white Gengar caused a wave of gasps throughout the bar.
That color scheme? Absolutely stunning.
The unconscious man who had suddenly appeared? Nobody cared about him anymore.
All eyes were now on the white Gengar.
Gengar liked the lively atmosphere in the bar and looked around curiously.
"Go have some fun," Julian said flatly.
Gengar let out a mischievous cackle and floated toward the main hall of the bar, a crowd quickly gathered around, drawn in by its striking white appearance.
But just as they got close—
Gengar suddenly opened its mouth wide, its grin stretching into an abyssal maw over three meters long, as if it was about to swallow them whole.
Panic erupted.
People froze in place, screams filled the bar, and a few even collapsed onto the floor, their legs giving out.
Some of the more faint-hearted? Yeah… they didn’t make it to the restroom in time.
"GAHAHAHAHA!"
Gengar returned to normal, clutching its round belly, laughing uncontrollably.
Julian watched the scene unfold with a knowing look. 'As expected'
"Julian, your Gengar is… uh… impressive."
Larry muttered, his expression complicated. Viktor had been captured by this Gengar—without a scratch.@@novelbin@@
Based on that, Larry had assumed it was some serious, no-nonsense kind of Pokémon. But after seeing this…?
Yeah. That image was completely shattered.
"Senior, Captain Larry, if you two have things to take care of, you should head out first," Julian said.
The fugitive was caught, but their work was far from over.
Neither of them hesitated, they exchanged a few more words before turning to leave—
Without paying the bill.
Julian watched them go, then turned back to Gengar, who was still busy messing around with the bar patrons.
Stepping up onto a table, Julian clapped his hands and shouted:
"Alright, everyone—tonight, all drinks are on me!"
"WHOOOOOOOOO!!!"
The bar erupted.
