Chapter 361: Entering the Secret Realm
Chapter 361: Entering the Secret Realm
Around ten in the morning, Julian arrived at the entrance of Advanced Secret Realm No. 98 and handed his entry permit to the guarding soldiers.
The two soldiers checked Julian’s body and backpack to confirm there were no prohibited items. After completing the inspection, they quickly let him through, reminding him to come out within a month.
Julian nodded, then stepped through the gate of the secret realm.
Advanced Secret Realm No. 98 was primarily a Water- and Grass-type environment. Perhaps because of this, the moment Julian entered, he noticed the unusually fresh air.
With each breath, he even felt like the air was sweet.
Suddenly, one of the Poké Balls on his belt began to shake. It clicked open on its own, and out popped a small green pig—wait, no, it was Celebi.
Since entering the secret realm required a security check, Celebi had only two choices: stay outside and wait for Julian to return or go into a Poké Ball.
Without hesitation, Celebi chose the latter.
In a way, this counted as Julian capturing Celebi, although he often felt helpless by this guy who just kept eating, drinking, and sleeping.
Its existence single-handedly dragged down the average value of mythicals.
Celebi: "The air here is good, I like it here."
As a Pokémon of the forest, Celebi naturally enjoyed lush, plant-filled environments.
Julian too had spent the past few months living in the capital, breathing in smog every day, he’d almost forgotten what fresh forest air smelled like.
Celebi: "Let's live here from now on, okay?"
Julian thought for a moment, then nodded seriously. "Sure, the air’s great, the water's clean, and the environment's fantastic. Living here long-term would definitely help us live longer."
"And besides, there's no electricity here—no air conditioning, no food delivery, no fried chicken, no chips, and no Internet. It’s a simpler life, better for our health."
Upon hearing that this place had nothing, Celebi’s excitement vanished, no matter how good the air was or how beautiful the scenery looked, it wasn't worth living without snacks and modern comforts.
"Let’s explore first," Julian said.
Beside him stood Metagross, keeping watch.
Julian held the map for Advanced Secret Realm No. 98 in his hand. The map marked the distribution of various Pokémon colonies, along with the locations of Elite-level Pokémon.
It also highlighted various danger zones and areas likely to contain valuable resources.
Since the realm was dominated by Water and Grass types, it contained nearly a hundred lakes, and the largest three lakes alone were each nearly half the size of the imperial capital.
The combined area of the forests and grasslands was no smaller than that of the lakes.
The entire secret realm was roughly divided into three landscapes: lakes, forests, and grasslands.
Right now, Julian stood in the middle of a vast grassland. The green grass, about half a meter high, swayed gently in the breeze, creating rolling waves of green across the field.
As the grass bent with the wind, he occasionally caught glimpses of Pokémon hidden within. Up in the sky, many Sunkern, Hoppip, and Cottonee drifted with the wind like tiny seeds on a journey.
The map indicated that the Pokémon living on this grassland weren’t particularly strong; most were only at the Advanced level at best.
Additionally, the majority were Grass-types. Grass- and Fairy-type Pokémon were well-known for their generally gentle temperaments, and most Grass-types in their first stage evolution were relatively timid.
If you dared to bother them, they wouldn’t hesitate to cry.
Looking at the warm sunlight shining through the clear sky, combined with the peaceful scenery, made Julian feel a little lazy.
Celebi sprawled on Julian's head: "So comfy…"
“Moo—!”
Suddenly, a herd of Tauros ran across the grassland, not far from Julian. The abundant vegetation here had clearly allowed these Tauros to grow strong and muscular.
The herd had almost passed by when the lead Tauros caught a glimpse of Julian from the corner of its eye.
“Moo?”
It snorted, then turned abruptly to charge toward Julian, with dozens of Tauros following closely behind.
The combined rumble of their hooves was as mighty as a cavalry charge from ancient times. It was like the ground itself trembled beneath them.
The surrounding Grass-type Pokémon immediately ran away in all directions.
This Tauros herd was notorious across the grassland for being aggressive troublemakers, they relied on their large numbers and thick hides to bully others.
The lead Tauros had expected to see this human panic at their approach, but as the distance closed to just over a hundred meters, Julian remained still, he didn’t even glance their way.
Tauros leader: 'What? You looking down on me?'
“Meta~”
Metagross came forward and intercepted the lead Tauros with a single punch, sending it flying through the sky.
One after another, the Tauros followed the same fate—punched into the air, landing with heavy thuds, only for more to be sent flying again.
In less than ten seconds, the entire herd had been neatly piled into a single heap, stacked like a Tauros totem.
Celebi: "I bet their meat tastes amazing."
Julian looked at it strangely: "You want to eat them?"
Celebi immediately shook its head: "No, no, of course not!"
But the drool trickling down from the corner of its mouth made it hard to believe.
While Tauros were considered livestock in some countries, especially for their flavorful tail meat.
However, in Drakoria, eating Pokémon was strictly forbidden, except for those with regenerative abilities.
Even then, the harvesting of such parts was tightly regulated, with strict limits on how often a Pokémon's regenerating parts could be collected.
"Meta~"
Metagross returned, holding a Sunflora in his hand.
“Oh, the seeds are ripe!”
Julian walked over to get a closer look at the seeds on the Sunflora’s face.
The seeds on a Sunflora’s face ripened once a year, and their quality depended on the Pokémon’s level.
Seeds from a pseudo-Elite Sunflora could sell for around a million, and these seeds weren’t just a snack—they had medicinal properties that, when consumed regularly, could improve one’s overall health.
The Sunflora Metagross had caught was at the peak of Advanced level, just shy of the next rank, not that good, but still good enough for a snack.
Without waiting for Julian to say a word, Celebi pulled a cloth bag from who-knew-where, opened it wide, and slipped it over Sunflora’s face.
Smack!
Then it delivered a swift punch to the plant Pokémon’s face.
The force of the punch caused the ripe seeds to rain down into the bag, in just moments, the bag was half-full.
Metagross released the unconscious Sunflora and dropped it gently onto the ground.
Celebi: "Plain seeds are okay, but I really prefer the spiced ones."
