Chapter 363: Treasure Hunting
Chapter 363: Treasure Hunting
Julian hadn’t expected to encounter other people on the very first day of entering the Advanced Secret Realm. This wasn’t the kind of secret realm that could be accessed just by spending money.
To enter an Advanced Secret Realm, a trainer had to be at least at the pseudo-Elite level. Moreover, the entrance ticket couldn’t be bought with money.
Instead, it had to be exchanged for contribution points.
As for how to earn contribution points, the most common way was to work for the Trainer Association—for example, by completing missions issued by the association.
Take the S-Class wanted fugitive Viktor, whom Julian had previously captured. If he had completed the capture alone, the Trainer Association would likely have rewarded him with a ticket to an Advanced Secret Realm.
Alternatively, joining a government department or the military provided another way. In addition to salaries and certain resources, trainers would receive a set amount of contribution points each month.
This was one of the ways the government and military attracted independent trainers.
As a result, very few trainers could actually enter an Advanced Secret Realm, and given how vast these realms were, running into others was extremely rare.
Freddie too hadn’t expected to encounter another trainer in the secret realm, let alone Julian, the well-known son of the Walker family.
"If you don’t land or leave immediately, I will attack," Julian said coldly.
Hearing Julian’s slightly threatening words from midair, Freddie’s expression shifted slightly. Although a hint of anger stirred within him, he didn’t want to provoke Julian over this.
After all, he didn’t know if Julian had entered the secret realm alone, and for someone like Julian, survival items were never in short supply.
“Mr. Walker, don’t misunderstand. I’ll leave right now.”
Without lingering any longer, Freddie swiftly disappeared from Julian’s sight on his Pidgeot.
Watching him leave, Julian turned to Lucario and asked, “Did you sense any hostility just now?”
Lucario shook its head, it hadn’t detected any hostility, only a faint trace of anger, and the aura of anger had been so weak that Julian hadn’t noticed it himself.
“He didn’t even mention his name, how cautious.”
The other party hadn’t introduced himself at all, clearly worried that if Julian knew his name, it might cause trouble for him later.
And with Metagross by his side, the man had recognized him at a glance.
“We’ll rest here for the night. Tomorrow, we officially start treasure hunting.”
Julian said to the Pokémon around him.
The next day, surrounded by the fresh scent of the grasslands, Julian prepared to set out. He recalled all his Pokémon except Metagross, Dragonite, and Celebi into their Poké Balls.
Taking out the Dowsing Machine, he turned it on, and ten red dots immediately appeared on the screen. However, they were all quite small, so Julian wasn’t particularly interested.
“Let’s go, head northeast.”
Riding on Dragonite’s back, Julian recalled the map of this secret realm in his mind, from here, they would head northeast, flying over forests and lakes.
That particular forest was the largest one in the entire secret realm.
Dragonite spread its wings and soared, though it didn’t fly too fast.
The custom-made flight seat provided Julian with maximum comfort, complete with a safety harness, so there was no worry about falling off even during complex aerial maneuvers.
He could even snack on seeds while riding. The seeds had come from the Advanced-tier Sunflora they encountered yesterday. Though they were plain, the taste was actually quite good.
In professional terms—it was all-natural flavor.
Celebi: "What are these red dots?"
Julian: “Each red dot represents a treasure.”
Treasure!
Celebi’s eyes lit up.
Glancing at the Dowsing Machine, Julian saw that Dragonite had just flown over one of the red dots. However, he didn’t intend to stop, which made Celebi anxious.
Celebi: "Why aren’t we going down to look for it?"
Seeing Celebi’s ignorant appearance, Julian said with contempt: “The red dot is too small, not worth going down for.”
Celebi: "Even a tiny Caterpie is still meat no matter how small it is!"
Julian: “Sorry, I don’t like that kind of ‘meat.’ And besides, Caterpie isn’t even the smallest.”
Celebi: "Then what’s the smallest Pokémon?"
Julian: “Guess”
In truth, he didn’t actually know the smallest Pokémon, but he did know the largest.
Celebi: "This red dot is relatively bigger!"
As Dragonite continued flying, the Dowsing Machine’s display kept updating. Celebi kept its eyes locked on the screen when suddenly, a new red dot appeared—nearly three times the size of the previous ones.
Julian was about to tell Celebi that it hadn’t truly seen a large red dot yet, but when he looked down-
“That is… actually kind of big.”
The red dot was indeed significantly larger than the others. It probably wasn’t a top-tier treasure, but it was at least two levels higher than the small ones.
Still, it was a pretty good find.
Julian signaled Dragonite to head toward the red dot’s location.
Seeing Dragonite change direction, Celebi realized they were finally going treasure hunting. Its chubby little face filled with excitement.
This was its first time in a secret realm and its first treasure hunt! How could it not be thrilled?
At Dragonite’s speed, it only took five to six minutes for them to reach the red dot’s location.
Below them was a vast grassland—the same one they were on earlier. The area was so large that they still hadn’t flown past it yet.
Julian already spotted the treasure, because it was placed completely out in the open, far too obvious, and surrounding it were numerous Pokémon—Gloom, Weepinbell, Exeggcute, Nuzleaf, and many others, covering almost every species in the area.
The total number of Pokémon had already exceeded tens of thousands.
These Pokémon also noticed Julian in the sky, but they didn’t take any aggressive actions. Instead, they simply watched him warily.
All of them were gathered around the treasure, and the ones closest to it—Vileplume, Exeggutor, Victreebel, and Shiftry—were all at the peak of pseudo-Elite.
These Pokémon continuously sent out warning signals to the Dragonite above.
It was precisely 12 in the noon, the time when sunlight was at its strongest. The treasure in the center emitted bursts of shimmering light.
Vileplume, Exeggutor, Victreebel, and Shiftry all let out low growls.
Then, under Julian and Dragonite’s astonished gaze, Gloom, Weepinbell, Exeggcute, Nuzleaf, and the others all began glowing with dazzling white light.
The simultaneous evolution of over tens of thousands of Pokémon created a light so bright that it seemed like a second sun had appeared in the world, even outshining the real sun for a moment.
Julian immediately closed his eyes.
The white light came and went quickly, after about ten seconds, Julian opened his eyes, what he saw below made his eyes flash with surprise once again.
Every single Gloom, Weepinbell, Exeggcute, and Nuzleaf had evolved, and all tens of thousands of them had reached their final evolutionary forms.
