Chapter 364: Huge Leaf Stone
Chapter 364: Huge Leaf Stone
In the Pokémon world, some Pokémon live in groups based on their species. When one Pokémon evolves, it is often accompanied by several or even a dozen others of the same species evolving together.
If the species has a large population, it’s not uncommon to see dozens of Pokémon evolving at the same time.
One of the most common examples is the Bulbasaur family.
However, for over tens of thousands of Pokémon from multiple species to evolve at the same time, like what had just happened today, was an extremely rare occurrence.
“What are you doing?”
Julian noticed that Celebi was holding up a phone.
Celebi: "Of course, I’m recording this."
Julian: “So you actually captured that scene just now?”
Celebi: "Yeah."
Julian: “Send me a copy later.”
A mass evolution of this scale didn’t have much research value, but it was an incredibly rare sight, making it a worthwhile keepsake.
Celebi: "Two bags of chips."
Julian: “Deal.”
He never expected to be extorted by this little guy one day.
Celebi looked pleased, then said, “Let’s hurry down and grab that treasure!”
But Julian immediately shook his head: “If we take that thing, we’ll be wanted criminals.”
The treasure that had been left out in the open was actually a Leaf Stone the size of a small car.
A regular Leaf Stone was only about half the size of a palm. Some top-grade Leaf Stones were slightly larger, but not by much.
A Leaf Stone the size of a car? There were only a handful in the entire world.
Some Pokémon required specific Evolution Stones to evolve—without them, evolution was impossible.
This massive Leaf Stone had long been under the jurisdiction of the Trainer Association. If it was taken away, all the Pokémon in this Advanced secret realm that needed a Leaf Stone to evolve would have no choice but to search for regular Leaf Stones on their own.
Regular Leaf Stones were finite—each one used was one less available. While the secret realm would naturally produce more over time, the process was slow.
If this Leaf Stone was removed, the number of Pokémon able to evolve using Leaf Stones in this secret realm would plummet—perhaps to less than one percent of what it was now.
This would undoubtedly disrupt the ecological balance of the secret realm.
That was why this massive Leaf Stone was officially registered with the Trainer Association, and its surface was marked with the association’s insignia.
It was likely that the Trainer Association had taken some precautions as well.
After all, there would always be people who couldn’t resist trying to take it. If someone actually touched it, who knew what might happen?
Moreover, the treasure’s defenses weren’t weak. On the surface, there were only a few peak pseudo-Elite Pokémon standing guard, but hidden beneath the ground was an Elite-tier Pokémon.
That was something Dragonite had just told Julian.
So, whoever dared to take this stone would have to face the consequences.
And you might have the ability to take it away, but you wouldn’t be able to take it out. A stone of this size—once you tried to bring it past the secret realm’s exit—you’d be discovered instantly.
Even if you broke it into pieces and took the fragments, it wouldn’t be worth it. After all, the whole Leaf Stone was the most effective.
Celebi: "No way."
There was a hint of stubbornness in its voice.
Julian: “You know how important the Leaf Stone is to them.”
Had this Celebi been spoiled by him too much, or had it eaten too much junk food, filling its brain with reckless ideas?
Celebi: "Of course I know, but I still want it."
Julian: “Then go down and take it, if they don’t attack you, I’ll take it away.”
With his system’s storage space, he could easily take it without anyone knowing.
But as Celebi looked down at the tens of thousands of Pokémon staring straight at them, it awkwardly shook its head.
Celebi: "It’s not because there are so many of them… I’m just afraid they’ll cry if I take their stone."
Seeing Celebi act all self-righteous despite being obviously coward, Julian sneered: “If you’re scared, just say it, there's no need for such nonsense.”
Celebi: "Who said I’m scared?"
“Then go down.”
“Fine, just watch me.”
“Go on, then.”
“I’m going now.”
“Hurry up.”
“I’m not going.”
At its current speed of one centimeter per second, it wouldn’t reach the ground even in ten years.
As they continued their usual bickering, the Pokémon below suddenly began glowing with specks of green light, all of which flowed toward the massive Leaf Stone.
Soon, countless curtains of shimmering green light formed beneath them. If it was nighttime, the scene would have been breathtaking.
Celebi: "Love is a light, so green it makes you uneasy."
Julian: "Such a beautiful sight, completely ruined by your words."
The massive Leaf Stone kept absorbing the green light.
“No wonder this stone can last forever.”
It was an incredibly stunning sight.
Despite its size, no matter how big the Leaf Stone was, the energy within it would eventually run out after continuously helping Pokémon evolve.
As far as Julian knew, this massive Leaf Stone had existed since the secret realm first appeared—nearly a hundred years ago.
Given such a long time, even if it was ten times larger, its energy should have long been depleted.
But that wasn’t the case.
It turned out that after evolving, the Pokémon would give back some of their energy to the massive Leaf Stone, replenishing it.
Celebi: "Not only that, but the energy of this entire grassland is also nourishing the Leaf Stone, that’s the key to its existence."
As a Pokémon of the forest and nature’s favored child, Celebi was highly sensitive to natural energy.
It could feel that the entire grassland was continuously supplying energy to the massive Leaf Stone, and this steady infusion was the key to its existence.
Looking down at the thousands of Grass-type Pokémon below, Julian activated his Probing Eyes to scan a wide area, searching for any Pokémon with Cyan-tier potential.
It wasn’t that he wanted to capture one for himself—Cyan-tier Pokémon were valuable resources.
Both Cyan-tier Pokémon and Mega Evolution stones were considered hard currency, these were things that money alone couldn’t buy.
Of course, there were many things in the world that money couldn’t buy, but these two were among the most in demand, making them exceptionally valuable.
With tens of thousands of Pokémon below, Julian soon found one with Cyan-tier potential.
Pokémon: Shiftry (Grass/Dark)
Level: 20
Potential: Cyan
Ability: Chlorophyll
Held Item: None
Gender: Female
Moves: Leaf Storm, Harden, Astonish, Tackle, Synthesis, Razor Leaf, Hurricane, Whirlwind, Leaf Blade, Growth
TMs: None
Egg Moves: Leech Seed, Quick Attack, Night Slash, Take Down
---
Its level wasn’t particularly high—which was actually ideal, a lower-level Pokémon would be easier to train, leaving more room for future growth.
