Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 407: Kitchen

When Slowking and Lucario finished buying ingredients and returned to the villa, they were met with the sight of Julian hurling an endless stream of scolding at Metagross.

At the same time, a hole had been blasted through the villa’s wall—right in the direction of Slowking’s kitchen.

The moment Slowking imagined the carefully selected utensils and ingredients inside, most likely destroyed beyond repair...

Plop

The barbecue ingredients in Slowking’s hands fell to the ground.

Lucario gulped at the dangerous aura radiating from Slowking, instinctively wanting to warn Julian.

But then, it noticed Slowking was looking at it with a smile on its face.

"Luca~"

Lucario: "Do you need me to restrain our trainer?"

Julian, still lecturing Metagross, was completely unaware that disaster was looming.

Right now, he was pointing at his own face, speaking with lingering fear. “Do you have any idea? I was almost crushed to death by Aggron just now!”

“If you want to change trainers, just say it!”

He had been sitting on the sofa, minding his own business, when Aggron suddenly crashed in from the direction of the kitchen. Its sharp horn had stopped less than five centimeters from Julian’s face.

He had survived assassination attempts, battle aftermaths, and countless dangers, only to nearly be killed by his own Pokémon.

"Meta~"

Metagross made a low, reluctant noise, not daring to argue back.

"Slow~"

Hearing Slowking’s voice behind him, Julian immediately turned around. “Slowking, perfect timing! Help me judge this situation!”

He was completely oblivious to the ominous shift in Slowking’s mood.

“Don’t you think they’ve gone too far?”

Julian complained before letting out a frustrated sigh.

“Even Arcanine was better behaved today—huh? Why are you all hiding behind me?”

Julian looked at his Pokémon, now cowering behind him, utterly confused.

"Mel..."

Melmetal gently tugged on Julian’s sleeve, gesturing for him to look at Slowking.

Even Celebi was clinging to Julian’s head, trembling.

"Slow~"

Slowking: "So… you guys destroyed my kitchen?"

The words sent a chill down Julian’s spine, his Pokémon shuddered as well.

Only now did Julian recall that the kitchen was Slowking’s sacred domain and no one was allowed inside.

Even the ever-destructive Arcanine kept a respectful distance from the kitchen.

And now, the kitchen had been wrecked.

Wasn’t this the same as doing a victory dance in front of the Grim Reaper?

Julian quickly turned around, pointing at the Pokémon with a righteous expression: “Look at what you’ve done! Slowking takes care of all your meals, and instead of being grateful, you go and destroy its kitchen!”

“Arcanine, why are you opening your mouth so wide? Are you unhappy with Slowking?”

"Gengar, you too! Your eyes are practically popping out—don't think you can scare Slowking like that."

"And you, Steelix! You always act so honest and quiet, but you're actually the most cunning one here. Don't think I don’t know that you secretly complain about Slowking not giving you enough Pokéblocks!"

Julian stood tall, scolding his Pokémon one by one with an air of righteousness.

Perched on his head, Celebi felt like it had no choice but to take a stand as well—otherwise, it might get caught in the crossfire.

Celebi: "What Julian said is exactly what I wanted to say, you guys went too far today."

All the Pokémon: 'We really want to kill these two bas*ds.'

Lucario held its head in its paws, glancing at the dark aura surrounding Slowking, then at the smug expressions of Julian and Celebi.

Lucario: 'Rest in peace, you two.'

———

The chaos finally ended.

Julian sat with his face in his hands, mirroring Celebi, who had assumed the same defeated posture on top of his head.

"How does Slowking even know Double Slap? That’s not one of its moves..." Julian muttered, frustrated.

Celebi: "Maybe... that wasn’t a move at all."

In the end, both Julian and Celebi received a thorough lesson from Slowking.

Celebi technically had nothing to do with it, but it had foolishly decided to side with Julian—so it suffered the consequences too.

As Slowking busied itself with grilling food, the sky darkened.

Julian glanced around, realizing that Dragonite and Bagon still hadn’t returned.

"Bagon must be having too much fun," Julian murmured.

If they weren’t back yet, it probably meant that Bagon didn’t want to come home just yet, and Dragonite was still flying around with it.

"But what about those two Swellow? Why aren’t they back either?"

They had flown off with Dragonite earlier, but since they had an egg in the ginkgo tree, they usually returned within an hour.

Now it had been nearly an hour and a half, and there was still no sign of them.

Julian didn’t think too much of it yet. He simply sat with Celebi, waiting for Slowking’s barbecue feast.

At the same time, he contacted a construction team, arranging for them to come early in the morning to repair the house.

Fortunately, the damage wasn’t too severe, and it was limited to the first floor. If the second floor had been affected, Julian might have had to book a hotel for the night.

———

More than half an hour later, Slowking finished grilling. The Pokémon’s meals were also prepared, but Dragonite and Bagon were still nowhere to be seen.

By now, the sky was completely dark.

"Metagross, go look for Dragonite and Bagon."

"Meta~"

As Metagross floated off into the night, Julian sighed: "Seriously, can’t even one of them let me have some peace?"

Slowking shot him a look.

'That’s my line.'

The kitchen was destroyed, so tomorrow’s breakfast would have to be made in a borrowed kitchen.

Roughly ten minutes later, Metagross returned.

"How was it? Did you find them?"

"Meta~"

Metagross nodded and floated down in front of Julian, relaying what it had discovered.

Julian's expression darkened instantly.

With a sharp motion, he stood up from his chair, his face livid: "Daring to mess with me? Fine, I'll show them what it means to provoke a me today."

His Pokémon could sense that their trainer was furious—a fight was coming.

Aggron and Melmetal immediately stepped forward, eager to be included in the action.

"Stay here and guard the house, Metagross and Lucario, you're coming with me."

Julian waved his hand.

The next second, Metagross used Teleport, whisking Julian and Lucario away.

———

Imperial University’s Third Campus;

"Damn it, whose Dragonite is this?! How can it be so strong?!"

Felix's face was livid as he stared at the Dragonite standing before him. All three of his Pokémon had been defeated, not just beaten—each had gone down in a single hit.

Beside him stood a beautiful woman and a group of lackeys, all looking uneasy.

Meanwhile, Bagon was tending to two injured Swellow.

The situation had started when the Swellow, flying overhead, accidentally startled the woman next to Felix.

Annoyed, Felix had ordered his Pokémon to attack them—going as far as to attempt to kill them both.

But before they could, Dragonite had stepped in, and in three moves, Felix’s three pseudo-Elite Pokémon were wiped out.

"Young Master Lawson... could this Dragonite belong to Julian?" one of the lackeys hesitantly asked.

Imperial University had more than one trainer with a Dragonite, but they were rare, and most belonged to people with significant backgrounds.

And the 'last' person anyone wanted to mess with was Julian.
