Chapter 294 Building Trust Before Thrust
"Kent, what happened? Did they come? What happened to them? Are you hurt?" Gate Master Mara asked a series of questions when Kent appeared inside the love garden.
He smiled and shook his head.
"Thanks for the concern, Gate Master, but I am fine. As for our guests, they did come, but let's just say that from tomorrow onwards, everyone with motives against us will think twice before coming after us," Kent said as he sat down.
"What did you do?" she asked again, but instead of answering, Kent posed a question in a statement-like manner.
"Gate Master, do you know it's quite a hassle to kill a Root Transcendent?" Kent asked.
The ladies who heard what he said wore shocked expressions on their faces. Was he implying that he had killed a Root Transcendent? Just how was he able to do that?
That question appeared in their minds, and one had to give it to Kent—he knew how to steer the conversation.
"Don't tell me you killed a Root Transcendent. That's not possible, right?" Gate Master Camilla said, unwilling to accept this outcome.
"Let's not dwell on that. The most important question is, how are you ladies liking the place?" Kent smiled.
Since the so-called powerhouses wouldn't be able to come out and accuse him of killing their warriors, he can only brush this aside and continue with his life.
"We have been in here for days now, but according to Saintess Selene, time runs differently here. Was she telling the truth, or have we indeed been in here for days already?" Saintess Val asked, chewing on a fruit she had plucked a couple of hours ago.
"That is true, what she said. The time here runs differently compared to the time on the outside. A day here is an hour out there," Kent answered, causing the three ladies to look at each other.
A few seconds later, they sighed.
"And you chose to trust us with this place. Though you made us sign that thing, I still wouldn't shown anyone this place," Gate Master Mara said.
"Call it me being stupid and choosing to trust you three. But I also cannot see a reason not to trust you. So, if you trust me enough and choose to keep this a secret, then know that it is just one of the many things I will be introducing you ladies to. You've already seen what I can do, so all I ask is your trust," Kent said.
The universe had helped him gain the trust of the Spear Saintess. But from that, Kent learned some lessons, so though this wasn't the best approach in the eyes of many, he saw it as a necessary move.
"Thank you for trusting us. I don't know about the two of them, but know that I will never break this trust," Gate Master Mara said.
"Same here. I have nothing to gain from exposing something this powerful about you. But even if I did, what would I get from it? It's not like I even know what this place is," Gate Master Camilla added.
"After we leave, can we come back again? I want to come back here," Saintess Val, who had already chosen the garden as her favourite place, had already forgotten about her sect.
"Don't worry, you will get the chance. After all, you are my servant," Kent smiled. "By the way, do you now accept me as your master and choose to become my servant?" Kent asked.
"Whatever, it's not like I can reject you now anyway," she shrugged, but everyone could tell she was just faking it. She was indeed more than happy to take him as her master.
'Gaia, add her to the servant tower,' Kent ordered, and Gaia obeyed.
She was added to the tower and felt something change about her, but she was too absorbed in eating her fruit to examine it.
Kent looked at her profile and found out she was a Level 2 Root Great Sage. Surprisingly, her spirit root grade was Gold, just a step away from Platinum.
This also made Kent realize that though he had become a monster, he couldn't handle his master in a fair duel.
Comparing her to Saintess Val is an insult to her.
The lady had a Copper-grade spirit root but managed to rise to a level many Platinum-grade cultivators couldn't. She became a Saintess thanks to her hard work and brilliance.
It was as if she had proven to everyone that spirit roots aren't everything.
Kent looked through the details about her, considering everything about her was laid before him to read.
The moment you are added to the tower, everything about you will be known by the Master of the tower. Kent is like a god inside the tower.
He was shocked by some of her details, but her trust level meter shocked him the most.
⟪Name: Saintess Valerie Jbox Adle⟫
⟪Role: Servant⟫
⟪Trust level: 89%⟫
→ She is eligible to have a true name. Awaken it using a true name token.
Kent was shocked reading this. The rude lady trusted him that much? He was stunned seeing this. He quickly asked Gaia a question.
'Gaia, would she have a different True Name if she becomes my woman, or are the names the same regardless of where she was given?'
Since she was now his servant, he wanted to know if the true names were assigned based on the tower they were linked to. Discover stories at My Virtual Library Empire
[No, Master. She only has one True Name, just like Uncle Drew and Elsa already had theirs. All the tower does is assign them these True Names and help them awaken and invoke them.
She will get the same True Name regardless of which tower she was linked to. The Master should check his lady's profile; he will understand what I mean.]
Kent nodded inwardly and did as he was told.
Right now, he wanted his ladies to start walking their paths and awaken their True Names. Though the price for a true name token is rather high, he could afford it.
The only reason he was holding back was what Gaia said. They must first start walking their path.
Saintess Selene's path is ready for her to start walking. Kent will take her there after the auctions.
By then, Gaia will be done with the one for the Spear Saintess, Ingrid, Lilian, Alina and now, a quest appeared again after making Val his servant.
This quest will reward him with a path for Elsa. Though he had already awakened her true name, making her someone currently walking the path of an Aether Warden, a path is being created for her.
This was why when Gaia asked him to check their profiles, he was shocked to see some changes appear now.
He checked Lilian, Selene, Ingrid, Neomi, Alina, and Unity. They were all eligible; all he needed was a True Name token.
However, Unity had something different. Her True Name could be awakened by something called a Destiny Token. Kent wanted to ask about it, but for some reason, he held back.
He didn't know why he had to do that, but he knew things about her were about to get critical.
"So, Kent, are they all your women?" Gate Master Camilla suddenly asked, snapping Kent back to reality.
What do you think?
