Chapter 177 Zagum's Patience Is Waning
Su Kuan's gaze darkened. "Of course, that Alchemy Chef caused quite a commotion in Harmony City. Because of him, my Dragon's Feast Restaurant and I will lose a lot of face today."
"What is Uncle going to do?" Su Bei asked with bright eyes. Knowing her uncle's personality, she knew he would not sit still and watch everything he built up be ruined.
"Heh." Su Kuan laughed and grinned wickedly, "What am I going to do? Isn't that obvious? After all these years, little Su should know my personality and methods quite well. Dragon's Feast Restaurant didn't become the number one restaurant in Harmony City amidst fierce competition by playing fair. Orchard or not, I have ways of making him bend to this Su Kuan's will."
"Uncle…?" Su Bei said in a questioning tone, hoping he would explain.
"I've already sent a few of my most trusted men to Duan's Restaurant," Su Kuan replied. With his power and influence it was not hard to discover where Lucian had gone to. "They'll cause a little 'accident' as Lucian is cooking. Something small, but it's more than enough to create a distraction and ruin his flow.
Little Su, you see, after watching the chefs at my restaurant, I've learned that chefs like him are all about control and precision. Disrupt that control and precision, and you disrupt the entire dish. If the guests at Dragon Phoenix Restaurant are forced to wait even a second more, they'll be furious. Of course, since they are just servants they won't say anything outwardly.
But we can use their inner rage. A bit of fuel from our side, and the fire will burn bright and wild."
With bright eyes, Su Bei nodded her head repeatedly, "You're right, Uncle! A delay here and a whisper there… it won't take much to turn their dissatisfaction into a full-blown outrage."
Su Kuan chuckled darkly. "Exactly. 553 orders aren't easy to do. Depending on the dish, it's nearly impossible for a single chef to pull off."
"While they're busy trying to control the damage, I'll be right there to welcome the disillusioned guests with open arms. I'll remind them why the Dragon's Feast Restaurant is the pinnacle of culinary in Harmony City and will always continue to be. For now, let James and Lucian hop around like a bunch of monkeys. I've been in this business for far longer than anyone can imagine.
I know how to turn any situation into an advantage."
After Su Kuan finished speaking, Su Bei clapped her hands. "...But what if things get worse?" She asked, wanting to cover all of their bases. James was too slippery.
Su Kuan continued to smile, "If things go awry, I have other plans. I've got a few surprises up my golden sleeve. Alchemy Chefs may be rare, but they aren't impossible to find. I know a few. With the right incentives, I can get them to work for me. And as for Lucian… if he continues to be a thorn in my side, I can always arrange for a more… permanent solution."
There was a chill in his final words, which promised a cold and ruthless reality that sent shivers down Su Bei's spine. But having already become used to her uncle's methods, she recovered swiftly and said, "Understood, Uncle."
"Good." Su Kuan said with a satisfied nod. "Now, go get ready. We have an auction to attend."
After that, Su Kuan watched as his niece nodded her head and left his office.
*Yawn*
Su Kuan yawned and stood up. Similarly to his niece, he also had to get ready.@@novelbin@@
"Those three better not screw up… though if they do… there's still 'that'." At the thought of the secret method he had used countless times to get his way, he could not help but break out into wicked laughter. Read latest stories on empire

Meanwhile, back in the Celeres Universe's Immortal Hell, Zagum's patience was waning, and so was the fear he held toward the Ferrymen.
A single Ferryman was of no threat; however, the near-infinite Ferryman could easily drown him before he could even unleash a Skill.
But that did not mean he would continue to sit for who knew how long. He had responsibilities as the First Layer Ruler.
Zagum frowned and glanced into the distant Sea of Sins for what seemed like the hundredth time, 'Haah. What in the name of Hell is taking them so long? Did something?'
Since each Universe had one Hell per Plane, the Shore of the Beginning was rapidly becoming filled with Sinners.
At that rate, Zagum began wondering, if he would be the first Ruler in Hell's history to discover if the Shore of the Beginning was truly infinite.

*Knock*
*Knock*
*Knock*
As Zagum and the Sinners waited for the Ferryman to arrive, in the Antares Universe's Mortal Hell, a green-skinned Goblin could be seen knocking on the door of a small one-story house.
"Miss Kaida, it's time for your dinner."
"I'll be right there." A woman's voice sounded from the other end of the door, shortly followed by a click as the door slowly opened.
"Thank you, Grax," Kaida said after receiving the tray. On top of it was a simple sandwich. Merely two slices of bread encasing a plastic, moldy cheese. It was not the good kind of mold either. Blue cheese would have been fine, but what Kaida had been given was gone off cheese and stale bread.
Life after being placed under house arrest was tough. This marked the second sandwich she received and the second sandwich that her trash can would have the honor or the displeasure of eating.
With one last glance at the pathetic excuse of a sandwich, Kaida sighed.
"I'm sorry, Miss Kaida. This is all they'll give you. You know how they are." Grax said apologetically, before he continued in a confident tone, "But if Miss Kaida wants better living conditions and food, I have a way."
Kaida furrowed her brows but still asked. "... What method do you have?"
What do you think?
