Chapter 178 Bloodline Appraising Turtle
At that instant, Grax's eyes slightly narrowed into sinister crescents, and his lips curled deviously, "It's simple, become my concubine! As long as you are mine, I can get my Master Cedric to forgive you."
Of course, that was a blatant lie. Grax and Cedric had never crossed paths, nor were they likely to. In fact, Cedric did not even know Grax existed. One person was at the top of the food chain, while the other was at the bottom.
Kaida frowned in mild disgust, and without even taking a moment to ponder his offer, she replied in a displeased tone, "Thanks… for the offer, but I don't mind absorbing Mana. I'll be free from my house arrest soon."
Then, without giving Grax a moment to speak, she closed the door on his face and locked it.
However, Grax was not angered by her tone or her disrespectful actions. Her refusal only added fuel to the fire. He liked them proud. It made their eventual fall all the more satisfying.
With one final glance at the closed door, he sat on the chair Orn previously provided him.
Grax was currently on shift to ensure Kaida did not escape. Of course, even if he was not tasked with guard duty, the likelihood she escaped the Ravenscroft territory was zero.@@novelbin@@
A few moments later, recalling Kaida's words, Grax could not help but chuckle, 'Heh, she thinks she will be released from house arrest. What a joke. Just you wait, after a few more days go by, you'll understand that there's no hope. Then… heh, heh, you'll come crawling to me.'
As Grax imagined the fun he would soon have, a flicker of lust flashed past his eyes.
He always had a particular fondness for kobold women. Kobolds had an intrinsic arrogant and prideful nature. Even Kaida, with her more shy personality, held an inner pride. Breaking them down was his favorite.
'A few days of isolation, or a week at most.' Grax thought as his hands absentmindedly found their way to the obsidian-colored dagger strapped to his waist.
While toying with the dagger's sharp edge, a lustful chuckle escaped his lips, 'Then, I'll offer her another deal. One that she would've never agreed to, but now… heh, heh, she has no choice but to accept. Kaida, don't blame me, blame yourself. You should have settled for being my temporary concubine, now, you can only settle for being my permanent slave.'

Meanwhile, back at the Dragon Phoenix Auction House Branch in Harmony City, the auction was still in full swing. During this time, ten items had been brought out, and all of them had caused quite a commotion among the guests, but none had caught the attention of Lily and the rest in the VVVIP Room.
That was, until now.
Suddenly, the large screen and the Auction Tablets displaying a Novice-Grade Low-Quality Pen changed to show a new item — a Magical Beast. The image showed a foot-long purple turtle. At first glance, it seemed no different from a common, green turtle painted purple. However, what made it extraordinary was the faint, glowing word on its forehead — 'Mortal'.
As the guests stared at the word, the atmosphere in the auction house grew tense. Some of them felt a strange pressure emanating from the word, while others felt their heads spinning, forcing them to look away.
From the auction stage, the Chief Auctioneer, Meng Ruo's voice rang out, "Ladies and gentlemen, I am honored to present to you the next item — a Grade 1 Bloodline Appraising Turtle."
After Meng Ruo finished speaking, the atmosphere in the venue grew slightly awkward. A few of the guests were even subtly frowning, but Meng Ruo paid it no heed.
"As many of you already know, this particular breed of turtle is one of the rarest in our world and is known for its incredible Skill — Bloodline Appraisal. With just a single glance, the Bloodline Appraising Turtle can discern the bloodline of any Magical Beast it comes in contact with.
Whether you wish to raise it as a pet or use its Skill to identify Magical Beasts with immense potential, it is a one-of-a-kind tool for any Mage, Magical Beast Tamer, or Magical Beast Breeder."
In the VVVIP Room, Lily's eyes lit up with interest and excitement. The turtle was exactly what her Big Brother Lucian wanted. It was a Grade 1 Magical Beast and even more so, it had a powerful Skill, perfect for helping him find rare and powerful Magical Beasts.
"Finally something good!" She whispered.
"Mn, this is exactly what Chef Lucian wanted," Garrett said, then continued via Voice Transmission. [Lily, remember to win it.]
[Don't worry brother, if it's for my Big Brother Lucian, Lily will never lose.] Lily replied, causing Garrett to feel two arrows penetrating his heart.
He was called brother, and his little sister's obsessive way of addressing Lucian was also too much for him.
"A Bloodline Appraising Turtle… is rare… but, sadly, it's a useless Magical Beast. It lacks offensive and defensive capabilities. However, that's not even the real problem."
Lily, Garrett, and the rest of the Lion's Liver members furrowed their brows in confusion.
Only Fenwick understood what James meant.
James explained, "The Bloodline Appraising Turtle's only use is its Skill — Bloodline Appraisal. But sadly, never has a single Mage or non-Mage ever found a way to unlock the turtle's Skill. Many have tried, ever since, a relic from the Ancient Era was discovered, detailing the turtle's Skill, which made what was once a useless Magical Beast, into one of the most sought-after.
But quickly, they realized no matter what Grade the so-called Bloodline Appraising Turtle reached, the turtle didn't learn the Skill. It's like the turtle doesn't even know it has a Skill, or some theorized the relic was a prank by a bored Mage. Therefore, it's a useless Magical Beast. Those who know about its truth stay away from it or use it as a pet. Other than that, it doesn't have any uses."
What do you think?
