Primordial Draconic Incubus With A Gourmet Chef System

Chapter 227 Cleaning The Campsite

'…'

Lucian's face darkened.

[You're becoming more annoying by the day.]

[Thank you for the compliment.] The System responded in its mechanical, genderless voice.

Lucian sighed and shook his head. He then lowered his head, meeting the gazes of three kneeling figures — an old man and two young men.

His new servants.

"Bai Mo, greets Master!"

"Bai Xuan, greets Master!"

"Pei Buhan, greets Master!"

They simultaneously greeted each other in a respectful tone.

Lucian was not surprised the brothers had used false names. After all, they were bandits and had to keep their identities a secret to try and fool him, unfortunately, for them, he had seen their appearances on the quest he accepted from the Adventurer's Guild.

Even so, Lucian still questioned them, "Bai Mo and Bai Xuan, so those are your real names, not Lucius and Luke? What else did you two brothers lie about?"

Bai Mo and Bai Xuan trembled and gulped hard.

Steeling himself, Bai Mo, who had previously introduced himself as Lucius, explained, "Master, please forgive us for lying earlier. Our real names are Bai Mo and Bai Xuan. We are willing to accept any punishment."

Lucian shrugged and waved his hand dismissively.

"I don't have the time, nor do I care about punishing you two. As for your names, I'm already used to calling you two Lucius and Luke. From now on, those will be your names."

"Thank you, Master. From now on, I will be Lucius."

"Thank you, Master. Please keep calling me Luke."

Although they were more than happy to assume new names, someone… or rather, the System, was not pleased by it. It grumbled, [Tch… you'd rather give them names, but not me… Even that overgrown monkey received a name first.]

'I really should give it a name… ehh, whatever. I can't be bothered. Also, Lily seemed quite interested in meeting the Nine-Tailed Fox when I explained the events that happened in Duan Mu's kitchen. I'll let her name it.'

After that thought, Lucian said, [You'll get a name after I introduce you to Lily. For now, be patient.]

But the System was not pleased one bit.

'I wanted the Host to name me!'

Even so… it reluctantly kept its complaint to itself… for now.

After realizing the System had nothing more to say, Lucian turned his attention back to the three. In particular, he only cared about the brothers. The old man was unfortunately dragged into the mess.

It was a classic case of appearing at the wrong time and the wrong place.

Though… Lucian could have simply refused the old man's offer to take a ride in his carriage.

Lucian went straight to the point, asking the older and more capable brother, Lucius, "Lucius, is your father still alive?"

Lucius nodded.

"Yes, Master. Our father is still alive. However, his condition is terrible, and could die at any moment." Continue your saga on My Virtual Library Empire

Lucian's eyes lit up. It was just as he initially thought — their father was gravely injured.

"It's good that he's still alive. He's more useful than you two." Lucian's words were blunt, but there was no malice in his words. He was simply stating a fact.

Lucian continued, "Clean the campsite."

Without hesitation, Lucius, Luke, and Pei Buhan rose from their kneeling positions, and immediately got to work. Their movements were quick and eager.

The effects of Lucian's blood coursing through their bodies had turned them into loyal, almost fanatical servants, driven by an overwhelming desire to please their Master.

As they began to gather Lucian's belongings, wash his chopping boards and knife, and extinguish the campfire out the campfire, the System said, [Host, are you planning to heal their father?]

Lucian did not even pause to think as he replied, [Of course. Their father is crucial to my plan.]

But then, Lucian's expression soured, as if he had eaten a lemon.

But the real reason for his expression was because he realized what the System meant by its question.

The meaning behind the question was so obvious that even a five-year-old child would know what the System was after.

[You're after my hard-earned Mana Stones. Tch.]

'Heh, that's what you get, Host.' The System chuckled to itself. Its Host was in no condition to help himself, much less save another. Thus, he had no choice but to go to it for a healing potion.

Many minutes later, Lucius came forth carrying a stack of cleaned chopping boards.

Luke wielded a clean and polished kitchen knife.

On the other hand, Pei Buhan held a blood-free tub in his arms.

"Master, we're finished! Please give us more orders!" Lucius declared with a wide smile. It was obvious he was in a great mood and wanted more work.

At the mention of Lucius' words, Luke's and Pei Buhan's eyes gleamed and a similar smile appeared on their face.

Even though the obedience and servitude were caused by his blood, Lucian did not mind. Lucius and Luke were scum, who had robbed and killed countless innocents. In his eyes, using them like tools was justified. They had taken what they wanted from the weak, and now, they would give what Lucian wanted.@@novelbin@@

Moreover, that was simply the way of existence. The strong played with the weak as they pleased, like how children played with toys.

Lucian cleared his throat. "Since you three are so desperate for more work. I have a task for you. " He turned his head to the brothers, "Lucius and Luke, take me to your father." Then his gaze shifted to the old man, "Pei Buhan, you drive us there."

[Shameless.] The System snorted.

But there was no change in Lucian's expression.

On the other hand, the three men were overjoyed at being given more work. As soon as Lucian stored the chopping boards, kitchen knife, and tub in his Spatial Ring, they dropped to their knees.

"Thank you, Master." They said in unison.

Lucian gave a brief nod of acknowledgment.

"Rise. Let's move. The sooner we reach your father, the sooner I can be together with my Lily again."
