Chapter 229 Impromptu Decision
That thought solidified when Lucius swiped his hotel key card and the double doors to the suite slid open.
'Gaudy.'
It was the first word that came to Lucian's mind as he stepped inside the suite.
Every surface — doors, tables, carpets, crystal chandeliers, and even the edges of the massive windows that offered a view of the Alabaster City — was rimmed with gold. It was as though the designer took the word 'luxury' and turned it into a weapon to assault the senses of whoever was unfortunate enough to pay for the suite.
Lucian's lips curled in distaste.
'I won't be stealing this disgusting decoration style for my hotel.'
That was right, Lucian had decided to open a hotel with the main aim of making money.
He already had the perfect location in mind — Moon Grove Forest. It was a prime location bordering the entrance to a Secret Realm. Mages from nearby cities and towns had already flocked over in droves, and soon, Lucian felt the number of Mages would only increase.
If Lucian did not squeeze every last Mana Stone out of those Mages waiting to enter the Secret Realm, it would be the biggest travesty.
With a plan in mind for the future, Lucian finally turned his gaze to the unconscious man in bed.
"Master, please save our father," Lucius begged from beside the bed.
Even though Lucius was Lucian's servant, he still retained his affection for his father. The only difference was his and Luke's undying loyalty to Lucian.
Lucian nodded his head.
"I came here to do just that… and, of course, enslave your father."
Even after hearing the last part, Lucius and Luke did not even flinch.
[System, I want the cheapest potion to bring him back to full condition.]

Lucian gritted his teeth, feeling his heart sink. Even so, he knew it was worth it. Healing their father's Mana Veins would be a long-term gain — an investment that if used well, would pay off once the old bandit was bound by the same loyalty as his sons.
"I don't want to dirty my kitchen knives, give me a dagger," Lucian ordered.
Without a word, Luke summoned his dagger and respectfully handed it to his Master.
Taking the dagger by its hilt, Lucian looked at Lucius and continued, "Open your father's mouth and keep it open,"
Without hesitation, Luke gently opened his father's mouth.
Seeing that, Lucian placed the tip of the dagger against his fingertip and applied just enough pressure for a small bead of blood to ooze out.
With a twist of the dagger, he flicked the blood into the bandit boss's mouth and let his blood do its thing. The process was passive, just like how he liked it.
Following that, Lucian handed the dagger back to its owner and looked around for a bathroom.
Realizing what his Master was looking for, Lucius pointed to a door, "Master, the bathroom is over there."
Lucian gave a brief nod and strode toward the bathroom.
After he was done cleaning his finger, Lucian walked back with the Mana Veins Restoration Potion in hand. He uncorked the bottle, causing a headache-inducing smell to waft out and into the air.
When Lucius and Luke smelled the aroma, they frowned. Even Pei Buhan, standing near the entrance, pinched his nose shut.
"Keep his mouth open." Lucian frowned.
Hearing that, Lucius trembled. Due to the awful smell, he had a momentary lapse, forgetting to keep his father's mouth open. Hastily, he pried the latter's mouth open.
Lucian walked over and tilted the bottle, letting the potion flow into his mouth.

For a few moments, there was no reaction, but all of a sudden, the bandit boss' body tensed, his Adam's apple bobbed, followed by a faint gurgle.
Realizing what was about to happen, Lucius panicked and quickly tilted his father's head back to ensure he did not vomit the precious potion.
"Wake me up when he opens his eyes." After saying that, Lucian went into the connecting room to have a rest. He could not be bothered to wait an unknown amount of hours for a stranger to wake up.
A bit of shuteye on the balcony under the blazing sun was more up his alley.
Lucian found a comfortable spot on the balcony. After a contented sigh, he closed his eyes and allowed the sun's warmth to put him to sleep.
Time drifted by. In what felt like a blink of an eye, five hours had passed.
In the adjacent room, an elated Lucius dashed toward the door to his Master's room and knocked repeatedly.
"Master, please wake up!" Lucius continued banging on the door.
Outside on the balcony, Lucian's ears twitched as the knocking entered his ears. Groaning, he went over and opened the door.
"He's awake," Lucius exclaimed happily. "Master, my father's awake."
"I figured. Move aside."
After Lucius moved away from the door, Lucian exited his room and turned his head towards the two kneeling figures.
They were none other than Luke, who was crying tears of joy, and the bandit boss.
As soon as the bandit boss saw Lucian, his eyes lit up, and he decisively slammed his head onto the ground. "Thank you, Master, for saving my life!"
Obviously, he was grateful for the opportunity to continue his life.
Lucian accepted his gratitude with a nod as he sat down on the bed the man previously occupied.
Looking down at the man, Lucian's expression finally changed from indifference. His lips curled into a faint smile.
Being stared at fixedly, the bandit boss shivered for a reason he was oblivious to.
"So, Ember Lion Pride's boss. Let's start with introductions."
Hearing that, the bandit boss was smart, quickly understanding his Master was asking for his name only.
"Master, my name is Bai Shishi."
Lucian blinked in surprise and raised an eyebrow.
What do you think?
