Primordial Draconic Incubus With A Gourmet Chef System

Chapter 230 Getting Down To Business

Looking Bai Shishi up and down, Lucian had a look of realization.

"With the way you're kneeling, you really do look like a dog. No wonder your parents named you Shishi."

Bai Shishi's brows furrowed in confusion.

"Master, what do you mean?"

Even though he said that, he unconsciously adjusted his kneeling position.

[Host, less bullying and more actual relevant questions.] The System advised in a sighing voice.

[Fine. Fine. You're no fun. Also, it's not my fault that 'shishi' has multiple meanings — lion, dog, and deer — they're the same thing in front of a Mage.]

After saying that, Lucian got down to business.

"Have you heard of the Black Fire Bandits?"

Hearing this, terrified expressions appeared on the faces of the Bai family and Pei Buhan.

Seeing their terrified expressions, it was obvious they had heard of the notorious gang.

"Master, may I ask a question?" Bai Shishi asked respectfully, still with his head facing the floor.

"Go on." Lucian urged.

"Why have you brought up the Black Fire Bandits?"

"I was getting to that." Lucian's smile widened. "It's good that you've heard of them. It saves me quite a bit of trouble explaining who they are."

Lucian continued, "Now then, the question is, do you know how to get in contact with someone from the Black Fire Bandits?" Discover stories with My Virtual Library Empire

Bai Shishi swallowed hard, trying to fight back the terror in his heart.

"Y-yes, Master. I have a contact among them."

Lucian nodded. This was exactly what he wanted to hear.@@novelbin@@

"I heard they've been swallowing other gangs into the Black Fire Bandits. I want you three to join their gang."

"What!?" Pei Buhan collapsed in fear.

The others fared much better after hearing Lucian's order. After all, they were bandits. Most importantly, ever since the Black Fire Bandits began swallowing other gangs, they knew their time would come when they had to decide between running away with their tails between their legs, getting killed by the Black Fire Bandits for refusing their offer, or accepting and becoming part of them.

Since they were still operating around Tianshan Mountain Pass, it was obvious what their stance on the matter was.

"Master, I have long since decided with my sons to join the Black Fire Bandits."

Lucian gave him a pleased nod before turning to the pale, resigned, old man. If not for his blood, Pei Buhan would never have resigned himself to joining the Black Fire Bandits.

"As for you, I never asked you to join the Black Fire Bandits. You would only screw up my plan if you went with them. So, you'll stay with me."

Hearing this, blood instantly returned to Pei Buhan's face.

"Thank you, Master, for your benevolence."

Ignoring him, Lucian returned his attention to the three bandits.

"Before you three join the Black Fire Bandits, get in contact with the bandit you know from the Black Fire Bandits. I want intel. Find out how many people they have in their gang, who their strongest Mages are, where their strongholds are located, and how far their influence reaches. When the time comes, I'll let you three submit yourselves to their rule."

Bai Shishi nodded swiftly.

"I will call him right now, Master. His name is Nai Yulan. He used to be part of the Warring Sharks before they submitted to the Black Fire Bandits."

"Good." Lucian smiled. "Make sure it's discreet. I don't want any person outside of us and Nai Yulan to know of the meeting."

"Yes Master, I won't let you down."

After Bai Shishi bowed his head, Lucian gestured for him to leave, "Go make the call. Also, if Nai Yulan asks how you recovered, tell him your sons robbed it from a rich second-generation brat. If he asks for more information, make something up. I'm sure you can handle it. Now, go."

Bai Shishi and his sons bowed one last time before leaving to make the call.

Now, only Lucian and Pei Buhan remained in the room.

"Pei Buhan, stay here and don't let anyone enter the suite. We don't need room service or anyone poking their noses where they don't belong."

Pei Buhan nodded hastily.

"Understood, Master. I'll guard this suite with my life. No one can enter with me here. Please be at ease."

Lucian doubted his over-enthusiastic words but chose not to burst his bubble. He then made his way back to his balcony and stretched his limbs, letting the warmth from the sun envelope him. But despite the warmth, his mind was elsewhere.

[I wish Lily were here.] Lucian said meaningfully with a sigh. He missed the way she looked at him with admiration and warmth in her big, adorable, pink eyes.

The hint was obvious, as bright as the sun.

However, the System remained silent, as did Lucian.

Yet, hope sprouted in Lucian's heart as the System's silence meant it was considering his obvious hint.

After remaining silent for almost a minute, the System announced, [This is the Host's Trial, and no third party can influence or affect said Trial.]

Lucian sighed and closed his eyes in disappointment.

But then, unexpectedly, the System's voice continued after a brief pause, [However, the System can transmigrate people who are deeply connected with the Host into a body belonging to this world.]

Hearing this, Lucian's eyes snapped open.

[What?]

He then sat up with an excited expression.

The Trial was bound to take many days if not weeks. The old man, who Lucian had to obtain his approval from, was ruthless. Becoming his disciple and learning from him were many tests in the future.

After just two days Lucian spent in this world, he had grown bored of the monotony. It could not be helped as one-third of his Soul contained Chef Lucian from Earth. That guy when he was not cooking in the kitchen was always reading web novels or watching anime.

Moreover, if his Mana Veins had not been sealed, he could have spent his idle time absorbing Mana.
