Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 124 124: Date Prep

Despite the anger that she must have felt, her mouth opened wide.

"A date...?" Zafira muttered. "You understand we don't need to uphold such formalities unless necessary, right?"

Rael nodded confidently. "I'm asking you, Zafira Sutekh, out on a date. Not Queen Zafira Sutekh."

Zafira continued staring at him for a moment before looking down. "...But why?"

"Why what?" Rael tilted his head. "Why I asked you out on a date?"

She swiftly nodded, causing him to sigh.

"Well, I'm interested in you," Rael said bluntly. "And I want to get to know you better. Not as the queen, but just as you."

"Hold on..." Zafira waved her hands in the air, flustered. "I don't think I heard you right, you said—"

"That I was interested in you? Yeah, you didn't mishear," Rael replied with a chuckle.

It seemed like the more he spoke, the less she could believe the situation she found herself in.

However, he could understand her shock. After all, the person whom she thought had died just asked her out on a date.

Still, he didn't exactly expect her to be so flustered about something like this.

Nonetheless, she finally finished murmuring incoherent words and simply nodded.

"Okay. I don't mind going out on a date... but where? Even if half the city is asleep, the other half will recognize us in an instant," Zafira asked.

"Why not go to the star room?" Rael suggested. "It should be romantic enough, and it'll only be the two of us."

Zafira tilted her head. "The star room? What's that?"

"...The room under your throne?" Rael replied, raising his brow. "So you don't know the ins and outs of your palace... uh-huh..."

He grabbed her hand with a smile. "I'll show you something worthwhile, so could you wait a second? I need to fix myself up real quick."

"Why don't I just meet you at the palace?" Zafira suggested, pointing to her hair and then at his clothes. "My hair's a mess, and your clothes... I don't even know what that white stuff on your clothes is."

"...?" Rael looked down and noticed there were several white stains beside his collar.

Beatrice... you motherfucker. Rael sighed and nodded. "Yep, meeting in the palace sounds good."

Zafira giggled and waved at him before stepping outside, getting into her carriage, and driving away.

In the meantime, he had to purchase some new clothes, since apparently, Beatrice's way of revenge was webbing his clothes.

But it didn't even look like webs, it was more like a liquid.

Did she...? Rael's mind wandered as a shiver ran down his spine.

He swiftly ran into the bathroom and threw his clothes into the trash can.

But of course, that wasn't the only thing he saw when he entered the bathroom, since there was the portal he hadn't closed in the very middle of the bathroom.

<Do you wish to close the portal to the Depths? Yes/No>

<Confirmed.>

Rael swiftly closed it and jumped in the shower, getting a good scrub. When he was finally finished, he bought himself a set of black clothes and then a random jacket, which cost only 1,900 Trell in total.

Nonetheless, his hair was fine, his clothes were more than fine, and it felt like he wasn't forgetting anything.

Therefore, he stepped out of the bathroom and headed to the front of the boutique.

But there was still one last thing he had to do—or rather, assign for the others to do.

"Can you three take out a few armor sets? They should be compact and lightweight, fitted into boxes, so it should only take a little while."

"Sir... Rael, by a few sets, do you mean a few hundred?" Xavier asked, and Rael simply nodded in response.

"221 to be exact. Also, if you can, set the prices to 1 million Trell per set. I'll reward all three of you with some cool stuff once I'm back," Rael said, stepped outside of the boutique, and summoned his car.

He showed his constructs how to take the sets out of the trunk, and once he was done with that, he began jogging toward the palace.

It felt weird breathing fresh air again, since he was a little used to the smell of death that lingered in the Depths.

But now it was all fine, and he only had roughly a week of stuff to catch up on.

I mean, how hard can that be? Rael thought with a chuckle.

Soon, he arrived at the palace, introduced himself to the shocked guards, and was escorted to the throne room.

The moment he arrived, he was met with Zafira, who was leisurely sitting on her throne, sipping on some wine and looking badass as per usual.

She wore a casual white top with a basic skirt and low heels, and once she noticed him, Zafira put the wine down and waved.

Rael swiftly excused the guards and approached her with a stunned look on his face.

"You look beautiful," he said plainly.

Zafira's smile widened. "And you tidied up. But what did you mean by that star room earlier? I checked the palace's architecture logs, and there wasn't anything extra in the throne room."

"Well, that's the beauty of secret rooms, isn't it?" Rael chuckled as he walked up to her and around her throne.

There were five buttons; however, to outsiders, they just looked like some simple ornaments that had no relevance.

But Rael wasn't an outsider. The amount of lore he had uncovered while playing Sketa Online was simply insane.

Obviously, he'd pick up on some stupid stuff like this.

Therefore, he leaned down and tapped the buttons in a particular 10-digit order.

By now, Zafira had walked up to him, and the moment Rael was finished tapping all the buttons in the right order, the ground suddenly shook.

Zafira seemed startled, and out of instinct, Rael shot up to his feet and held her by the waist, causing her eyes to widen.

But that surprise only lasted for a few seconds, as the throne itself suddenly began descending downward, revealing a dark spiral staircase.

Rael smiled as he let go of her waist and held her by the hand.

"Shall we?"
