Chapter 125 125: Inside The Star Room
"So where are we going again?" Zafira asked, taking careful steps down the spiral staircase.
Rael gently held her hand as he took the lead. "I told you, we're heading to the star room."
"Mhm..." Zafira nodded skeptically. "But don't you think a star room is supposed to... I don't know, overlook the stars?"
"Yep, and that's what we'll be doing," Rael replied flatly. "It's an area that's not exactly conventional, but you'll see when we get there."
She had a point. Honestly, he was a bit surprised that Zafira didn't call him out for trying to kidnap her or something.
After all, they were already in a crater, but now he was going even deeper.
The developers, or I guess the creators of this world, added a secret room, and it's directly linked to the blue star that only those in Celestara can see, Rael thought as he suddenly halted.
"Why did you stop?" Zafira asked, puzzled. "It looks like there's some light down there—we're pretty close to whatever dungeon you're taking me to."
Rael raised a brow. "You seem pretty eager about that?"
Zafira's smile twitched. "W-Well... not like that. But I'm still confused about how you knew this existed in the first place."
"I'll tell you when we finally arrive, so let's see..." Rael trailed off, scanning the dark wall in front of him.
He had climbed down 239 steps, and the 240th step was a trap that would send him barreling toward his death.
Rael found out the hard way, and it made him lose a few levels. But in the end, it was worth it.
To access that room, he had to find a certain brick in the wall that was looser than the others.
And after just a few seconds, he found it, pulled it out, and proceeded to place it on the 240th step.
This time, the trap didn't activate, and with a smirk, Rael began leading the puzzled Zafira further down.
That was the only hurdle he had to overcome. Items weren't able to disable the trap, and special trap kits didn't work either.
The only reason he even found that brick in the first place was because he slammed his head against it one time, and it just so happened to fall on that 240th step.
Nonetheless, Rael put the nostalgia behind him as he approached the blue light at the very bottom of the staircase.
Finally, he took the final step, and the moment he did, his grin grew further.
The star room was just as he remembered.
It was a giant glass room, and he couldn't see its end. However, as he took a few steps forward, the sight below him made him let out a satisfied sigh.
"T-This is...?" Zafira let go of his hand as she dropped down to the transparent floor and looked down. "Is that Celestara...?"
"Yep," Rael replied as he leaned down beside her. "You know the star you've been seeing in the sky that is exclusive to Celestara? Yeah. This room is that star."
They were really high up, and except for Celestara, everything else starting from the mountainside lifts was blurry and basically invisible.
Yet Celestara was perfect, and if he focused, it worked almost like a magnifying glass, so he could see everything that was going on.
In fact, he could see his three constructs playing dodgeball with his armor set boxes.
Those little bastards... Rael sighed. I can't even hate them, they're just too cute.
He let Zafira continue indulging in her curiosity. In the meantime, he took a glance around.
There was a massive blue LED light strapped to the ceiling of this almost never-ending room, likely what made the others think it was a star in the first place.
Despite that, Rael sat down on the ground not too far away from Zafira and bought a few items.
A picnic blanket, a grill, some charcoal. Two comfortable chairs and a round table. Some marinated ribs ready to be grilled, and of course, a few pizzas and wine as the appetizer.
Since Zafira deserved the best, he made sure to get a freezer as well with a few cold beverages inside.
It was definitely a first for him. After all, having a date on a 'star' wasn't exactly common in his world—or the last.
Since I was the only player who found this area... it was funny watching them speculate that this place is just some future quest-line meteor, when in reality, it was just an unpatched bug, Rael thought as he finished setting everything up.
He lit the Applewood charcoal and started the grilling process.
The moment he did, Zafira immediately shot up from the ground and approached him.
"When did you have time to set all this up...?" she muttered, glancing at the wine and pizzas. "This is amazing."
"I know, right?" Rael chuckled and closed the grill, letting it do its own thing.
Since it was no ordinary grill, it wouldn't take hours. Instead, the ribs should be done in just a few minutes.
In the meantime, he walked up to the pizza and took a slice before bringing it to Zafira.
However, instead of handing it to her, Rael gestured for her to open her mouth, and with slight embarrassment, Zafira did just that.
"This is also delicious," Zafira remarked, and just as she was about to wipe her mouth with her sleeve, Rael quickly took out a handkerchief and wiped the pizza sauce.
"You're well prepared," Zafira remarked, flustered.
"I said I'd try my best to make it up to you," Rael said plainly as he stared right into her eyes. "I meant it."
With that, he gestured for her to sit down, bought two majestic golden chalices, and poured wine into them.
"Zafira..." Rael trailed off, swirling the wine in his chalice. "I want to get to know you better... I feel like the only thing I know about you is your last name, and that you like being pampered."
"Pampered... really?" Zafira raised a brow as she nearly choked on her wine. "Well... I guess you're not wrong. My parents used to pamper me quite a lot when I was younger."
"Oh?" Rael put the wine-filled chalice down and glanced at her with a warm smile.
"Tell me more."
What do you think?
