Chapter 278 [An Impossible battle!]
The three Gods stood by each other, each of them observing the guy who just thrashed God level entities as if playing with a rag doll.
They looked at the guy waiting for Luciana to answer his call. Never in their life they had felt this hopeless… or perhaps they had before? During the time when they fought against Luciana and lost. Explore more adventures at My Virtual Library Empire
But this time, the enemy was far worse. So much that even Luciana was hesitating before making any decision. It was as if their life were just hanging by a thread, which was going to break at any moment now.
"Be brave," Hecate spoke out.
"I am trying to be," Helios answered.
"Sorry. I was just talking to myself," Hecate added.
"…"
A strange silence ensued for a moment before Castellina spoke,
"Is there any meaning in being brave here? All I am seeing are black threads everywhere," Castellina spoke, seemingly suffocating by the sheer number of threads of death looming in the sky above her.
Her expression was enough to kill the last hit of hope that the two Gods could muster.
~Music~
And then as if a refreshing feeling spread around the area, the hope seemingly returned. Even though nothing had changed, the God's attitude changed ever so slightly.
"What is this music? It's reducing the tension in the sky," Castellina spoke as she traced back the music to the city, finding a lone girl dancing at the central market. And the mana revolving around her, dancing ever so beautifully, erasing all the tension in the air.
"I see her. But what kind of dance is that? I have never heard or seen anything like that. Could she be a Minor God?" Helios asked as his expression was relieved ever so slightly.
"No. She is a mortal… but somehow the mana of the land seems to be connecting with her without any restrictions. I don't really understand how is that possible but… perhaps we aren't alone in this? Could it be that the world itself wants to prevent this tragedy from occurring?" Hecate speculated and Helios nodded.
Since all the absurd things have already happened, something like this, though common sense defying, is still within the scope of craziness they have seen. And since it is in their favour this time, it was a welcomed craziness, something that they didn't bother happening.
"Well. It doesn't matter. All we have to do is give our best," Castellina spoke, finally breaking free from suffocation that the black threads bound her with.
~Music~
While the dance was guiding the mana around, connecting it and then re spreading it. The music was calming the nerves of all those who were present on the battlefield.
Nobody knew where the music was coming from. Some speculated the dancing girl to be its source while others didn't bother worrying about it.
But if they had focused properly with their concentration purely on the music, they would have surely found the source of it, and the certain unnoticeable effects that it had.
Yet again, nobody had the focus for something like that, for their lives still were at edge, as a monster far more dangerous than any was in front of them.

"Laplace. Your methods are never going to work," Luciana finally spoke, observing the sentient expression that Laplace was making.
"So that is your final decision, huh? Pitiful," Laplace spoke as he then teleported right behind Luciana as he added,
"You were a good friend. I will always remember you."
And then a seemingly infinite amount of energy appeared on his fingertips before he pointed it at Luciana.
"You don't have to be," Luciana spoke as she slowly turned around, looking at the frozen finger, still in time, before she pointed the staff at Laplace.
-Boom!
Though before she could even do anything, the frozen finger moved a bit, and the mana within it exploded at its place.
The energy of the explosion reached 100s of meters around before it vanished with a sprinkle, as if the explosion never happened at that place.
"Hmmm? It was less potent than I wanted. Well, it seems like you are still strong despite the scars 4th gave you," Laplace complimented as he saw the near broken figure of Luciana fallen on the ground.
Though within the next few seconds the broken figure started restructuring itself back in proper shape while a broken voice of Luciana came from it as it was fixing itself,
"How… did you… free… yourself from the restrain? It should be impossible!" Luciana, now back to her peak health, spoke out in shock as she saw her magic was broken through.
Though it looked like a normal time magic, it was actually one that contained a bit of her essence, her life force. Except for the first fate weaver, there was no one, not even Lirawern, who was able to escape this magic.
"It's been a month now," Laplace hinted with a smile on his face, making Luciana even more shocked than before as she said in disbelief,
"Don't tell me… you unlocked the final restriction?"
Laplace didn't answer as he kept smiling at Luciana. Though she slowly calmed down herself before she looked at Laplace and analyzed,
"No. You wouldn't be asking for me to join you if you would have succeeded in that. Then that means, you unlocked another restriction, perhaps the second last one."
Laplace didn't confirm or refute her words. He simply smiled at her as she began analyzing her words and then nodded at the confirmation.
"Just what kind of Restriction did you break free from this time?" She stared at Laplace with her eyes focused. The key to winning or losing this fight, or perhaps this war, lay in the answer to that question.
"Luciana. Is everything all right?" The Angel, Raphi, flew to Luciana and asked with concern written all over her face. Though Luciana simply answered,
"Get ready. I am not too sure I can hold him alone in this fight."
What do you think?
