"This extraordinary technique," Fendrel explained, his hands moving in elegant gestures that mimicked the flowing energy patterns described in the scroll.
Fendrel paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. "Unlike many high-ranked techniques, the Primal wildbloood is rumored to have been dropped by the Final boss of the 20th floor!
"Method contains no deliberate bottlenecks or a specific requirements. It is universally compatible, though those with the berserk class or physical class have more compatibility with this."
Another pause, this one calculated to build tension. "The starting bid is 50,000 relic coins."
Paddles rose throughout the hall.
Lucian was instantly excited before his mind went blank.
50,000 relic coins? His generation most likely hadn't seen 10,000 relic coins before!
What kind of prices were this people calling!?
Gritting his teeth, he immediately raise his paddle up.
"60,000 from the gentleman in the back," Fendrel acknowledged with a nod in Lucian's direction.
The bidding escalated quickly: 70,000, 80,000, 100,000.
The rapid increase in prices made Lucian so mad his face flushed red as he glared at his opponents budding with him.
'Are they holding grudges against me!?'
At 150,000 relic coins, most bidders had withdrawn, leaving only Lucian and a hard-faced noble from one of the second-level booths.
He was a young blond man that came from a rich family in the nearby city.
"180,000," the noble called out, his voice was arrogant and seem to be from boredom.
Lucian's eyes had lost all life with dark shades around his eyes, he raised his paddle.
"200,000."
The young man's face darkened with frustrated anger. He spoke briefly with his steward before reluctantly shaking his head.
"200,000 relic coins going once... twice..."
Fendrel's gold-inlaid gavel hovered in anticipation. "Sold to the gentleman in the back!"
A ripple of murmurs spread through the crowd.
Many turned to catch a glimpse of the mysterious bidder who had outbid a noble for such a valuable technique.
Lucian didn't move and simply continued to hide his face with his hoodie, making it difficult to see his face. Along with the Heaven's Cloak technique, anyone who looked at him was as though they were looking into face of a dark shadow.
The auction continued, and Lucian felt his heart rest in relief as he acquired the item.
But that was until the next item appeared.
The female assistant carried a shadowy far scroll case carved from cinnabar stone, symbols of ancient power etched into its surface. Small wisps of dark energy occasionally escaped from the seams, dissipating into the air like foggy snakes.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Fendrel announced, "we now present the final item for today, the 'Black Tiger's Rage' combat technique."
The holographic image suddenly displayed its attribute.
[Name: Black Tiger's Rage]
(Grade: Rank 3)
[Type]: Combat Technique - cold weapon Specialization.
[Techniques]:
▸ Tiger's Phantom Crushing Bite: Release an overwhelming attack, infusing mana into the weapon to form the black tiger's phantom to crush enemies.
▸ Dark Flame Blast – Mana blaze weapon with intense flames, causing additional 20% fire damage and leaving a burning effect (8% damage over 5 seconds)
▸ Predator's Pursuit – After a successful strike, grants 25% movement speed for 3 seconds
▸ Black Tiger's dominance – Every third successful strike creates a shockwave that deals 30% of base damage to enemies within a 5-foot radius
▸ Mana Enhancement – Extends weapon reach by 10% when channeling additional mana.
Fendrel's voice took on a reverential tone as he circled the scroll case. The crimson energy continued to seep from its edges, casting an eerie glow across his face.
"The Black Tiger's Rage," he began, "is a legendary technique that could be used by any weapon!
"The technique harnesses both the overwhelming crushing power of earth and the searing intensity of flame."
Fendrel gestured dramatically toward the holographic display. "As you can see, this is no ordinary combat method. When fully mastered, practitioners can manifest the devastating power of a black tiger's pounce in every thrust, creating attacks that are nearly impossible to defend against. The combination of crushing force and burning flames makes this technique particularly effective against heavily armored opponents."
He paused, letting his words build anticipation among the crowd.
Several of the more martial-minded attendees leaned forward in their seats.
"We shall begin the bidding at 300,000 relic coins."
The crowd erupted immediately. Paddles shot up across the hall as nobles, guild representatives, and wealthy merchants competed for the prized technique.
"350,000!" "400,000 from the gentleman in the fourth row!" "450,000 from Lady Merivale!"
What do you think?
