Nyx could sense a little life that was drowning in the miasma, they weren't exactly dying, but she could feel that they were growing weaker. She swam down, protected by her Phantom Dragon Armor, she swam to the dark depths, finding someone there, drowning.

"A kid?!"

She was surprised it was a child like her. She could barely see how they looked like as the black miasma covered everything slimily, and it wasn't transparent like water. Without hesitating, she grabbed the child's arm, and slowly dragged them out of the miasma.

SPLASH!

She walked out of the miasma, noticing her Phantom Dragon Armor was slowly breaking down to pieces. Nyx felt a bit bad, the Phantom Dragon that had been so nice with her was made out of it.

"Ah, no, the armor! Wait a bit, I'll heal it… back…"

However, it was too late, the Phantom Dragon Armor broke down to pieces, and the pieces dissipated into phantasmal essence, disappearing.

"Oh…"

Nyx remained in silence for a second, sighing a bit.

"Ah! Right!"

She ran towards the girl, panicking to even have ignored her for this long!

"Are you okay?! Let me clean you!"

She opened her Little Shadow Realm, which her Mother had helped her develop using her own Shadow Magic and Phantom Magic and took out a towel and a lot of water.

She was strong but she didn't know how to conjure water or anything like that, she had heard it was magic she could learn, but she never put the effort into it because she was always with her mom or Celes or everyone else.

"Damn, you're so nasty, let me clean you!"

She rubbed the kid in front of her with a towel and then used water to wash them down completely. Ultimately, it revealed their true appearance once all the black mud was gone.

"Huh? You're a girl! A human girl?"

It was indeed a human girl, smaller than Nyx, with short bobby-styled black hair, pale white skin, freckles around her nose area and shoulders, and only wearing a white dress, barefoot.

"Uuh…"

The girl's eyebrows twitched a bit, as she started groaning.

"A-Are you ok? I think I could try healing you… But would my healing spells even work on the living?"

Nyx sighed, taking out a potion from her inventory and splashing it over the girl's face.

SPLASH!

"Uwaaggh!"

The girl screamed in shock, her body felt better now, but she started coughing, almost choking on the potion.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't intend to scare you…"

"Uuh…"

The black-haired girl groaned, covering her face with her hands and washing away the weird liquid splashed into her face.

"Are you ok?"

"Hm?"

The girl slowly opened her eyes, revealing cute blue eyes, although they looked to be squinting, she couldn't see too well.

"W-Wha…? Where am I?"

"You're… I don't know! I think it's a Nightmare Realm… Domain, something."

"N-Nightmare?"

The girl was confused, looking around, it seemed she had difficulties seeing.

"Is it all white? Is this a dream?"

"Technically! But not exactly a dream either!"

"Um… I'm confused now."

"Look, um, let me explain!"

Nyx explained to the girl where they were, and what happened to them.

"So uh there's… nightmare demons? That's so weird… I don't get it."

"I'm sorry… I, uh, I guess you were a girl from the city?"

"Yeah… I don't know why I'm here…"

The girl sighed as she seemed to still be squinting her eyes around.

"Uh, have you seen my glasses? I can't see very well with them… Uh, it's all blurry."

"Ahh! Glasses? Let me search!"

Nyx quickly went back to the Miasma Pool, looking around, then split her Phantom Aura, creating Ghostly Clones, sending them down for her.

Eventually, after a couple of minutes of waiting, where the girl she rescued wandered around aimlessly and ended tripping over the floor once, Nyx found it.

"I found it! Let me clean it!"

"Really? Wow!"

The girl smiled a bit, feeling better after Nyx cleansed her glasses and gave them to her.

"There!"

"Thank you!"

The girl took the glasses and finally put them on.

"Ah, there's a crack… but it's fine, I can see much better- Eh? Y-You're… wow!"

"Hm? What is it?"

"You're so pretty, like a doll! So cute!"

"A-Ah, is that so? Hehehe!"

Nyx giggled as she was praised.

"I've never seen someone with this hair color before… except my granny…" said the girl. "Um, where do you come from? Ah right, what's your name anyways?"

"I'm Nyx!" said Nyx. "And you?"

"My name is Francisca… You could call me Francis!" Said the girl, readjusting her glasses, looking a bit smarter out of nowhere.

"Francis! That's a cute name!" Nyx smiled. "Where do you come from though?"

"I… Uh, New Jersey," said Francis, walking around barefooted. "Ah, my feet are so cold… Where are my shoes?"

"You could use these, I think our feet are the same size," Nyx said, taking out a pair of shoes from her Little Shadow Realm.

"Oh nice! T-Thank you Nyx!" Francis quickly wore the little black moccasins. "They're cute…"

"Is that so? I'm glad you like them; I always bring a lot of clothes inside my Little Shadow Realm just in case I need something. Also food and water! Are you hungry Francis?"

"A bit… but I think I can handle it; I don't want to ask you more favors…"

"It's fine!"

Nyx took out a bag of potato chips and a small bottle of cold chai tea, giving them to Francis.

"But Nyx… How will I repay you later?"

"You don't need to repay me anything! Mama will buy me new stuff anyways!"

"Oh… W-Well, thank you."

Francis started eating the potato chips like crazy, finishing them off in a jiffy, and then drank half the bottle of chai tea, feeling refreshed.

"Phew…"

"You sure were hungry, hehe!"

"Hmm… Ah, I wonder where's mom and my sister though…"

"Let's find them! Maybe you were a victim of this and got dragged into this entire thing! But don't worry, I'm here!"

"T-Thanks… You're reliable, Nyx."
