Chapter 31 - 32: Be More Careful Yourself

Chapter 31: Chapter 32: Be More Careful Yourself

She didn’t want to owe anyone anything; she just hoped to lead a stable life with her child.

“Alright,” Pei Huaian verbally agreed, but he thought to himself that he absolutely must not fall behind when it came to buying things in the future.

When Yun Qian returned, the two were casually chatting. He stepped into the room and paused slightly upon seeing the items on the table.

The things he had bought were not many, and seemingly not as good as those on the table, yet he still smiled as he handed them out.

“These are the things I bought for the child.” Yun Qian masked the expression in his eyes and handed over the items. Having already bought them, they were of no use in his hands, and he didn’t want to compete; it was all for the child’s welfare.

“You guys really do think alike,” Shao He raised her eyebrows slightly, glanced at the person in the wheelchair, and then at the items being handed over.

Yun Qian’s smile remained gentle, as tender as the warm sun in winter.

Shao He took the items and said seriously, “Next time, you really don’t need to go to such expense. The child doesn’t need so many things right now.”

Though she knew they both had the child in mind, the favor was too difficult to repay.

Just then, the child in the room suddenly began to cry. Luo Jiner went into the inner room, brought the child out, and fed him some milk.

The well-fed little guy instantly became spirited, staring with big eyes and even reaching out to grab.

Yun Qian walked over, extended his finger to touch the baby’s cheek, but when the little one grabbed his finger and proceeded to bring it to his mouth and failed, the baby started crying. Panicked, Yun Qian immediately withdrew his hand, not knowing what to do.

“Good boy, don’t cry, don’t cry.” Shao He gently soothed, but the little guy seemed not to take it, still letting out a loud cry.

Pei Huaian rolled his wheelchair over and reached out his hand, “Let me try.”

Shao He hesitated for a moment, then handed the child to him.

The moment the little one was in his arms, he stopped crying, staring at him with tear-filled eyes and blowing bubbles.

Seeing the exceptionally quiet child, Shao He was extremely surprised. This child really seemed to have a special connection with the man wearing the mask.

Pei Huaian held him close, felt the child’s soft body warming his heart, and looked up to ask, “Have you named the child yet?” @@novelbin@@

“Yes, his name is Shao Linzhang, which means a graceful person with great aspirations.”

Yun Qian and Pei Huaian simultaneously exclaimed, “Linzhang’s waters flow long, wishing the orchard’s fruit thrives—truly a majestic name.”

As soon as these words were spoken, Shao He’s gaze lingered peculiarly on the two men, wondering when they had become so in sync.

“Cough, cough, that indeed is a good name,” Pei Huaian, unable to bear her intense gaze, formed a fist and lightly coughed twice.

“Yes, a very good name,” Yun Qian agreed.

Shao He, finding something amusing, stroked her chin as she looked at both men, feeling that they were quite well-matched.

“By the way, I heard Luo Jiner came by today. Did she do anything to you?” Yun Qian hurriedly changed the topic.

Shao He collected her thoughts and briefly mentioned the day’s events, not really taking Luo Jiner seriously.

“She’s not very capable, only resorting to petty tricks, nothing to worry about.”

Hearing that there was no issue, Yun Qian finally relaxed. Pei Huaian hadn’t expected Luo Jiner to show up so quickly, and even if there was no issue this time, who could guarantee the next.

“I’ve already informed the Yan Family; they will arrange for patrol. Just be extra careful yourself.”
