Chapter 57 - 58 Come Help Me Out
Chapter 57: Chapter 58 Come Help Me Out
This remark was clearly a tactful way to drive them away, without any intention of treating them.
Upon hearing this, Chu Yu’s face turned ashen, as he dared not lash out because of Yan Ze, he could only endure it, yet he showed no signs of leaving.
Just as the atmosphere became somewhat tense, a cry for help resounded from outside the door. @@novelbin@@
“Save me, is there a Doctor who can save someone?” A few women, carrying a nanny, entered the medical hall, calling out as they walked.
The medical hall, which had been somewhat noisy, instantly quieted down.
Shao He immediately stood up and approached the nanny who was being carried over.
The nanny lay on the ground, her body curled up, her hands tightly clenched into fists covering her lower abdomen, her lips were chapped, and her face showed an expression of pain, her features were distorted and gruesome, with eyes full of fear and helplessness.
Shao He frowned deeply and quickly asked, “Nanny, where do you feel uncomfortable?”
The woman carrying the nanny hurriedly responded, “Nanny Zhang suddenly had unbearable abdominal pain, lying on the ground wailing. We heard her and carried her over.”
Shao He nodded, and after asking, asked her to lie flat, then pressed on the painful area.
“Hiss!” As she did so, Nanny Zhang sharply inhaled a breath of cold air, her forehead covered with fine beads of sweat, her complexion turning even paler.
“This is appendicitis, she needs surgery. Are you willing to accept this?” Shao He looked up and asked the women.
“This…” The women hesitated to answer, one of them said, “Nanny Zhang used to work in a wealthy household, but after the family moved away to conduct business, Nanny Zhang has been living alone, without children or relatives; we dare not make this decision.”
Such matters were not something they dared to agree upon, fearing the responsibility should anything go wrong.
Jiner took the opportunity to disparage, “I’ve never heard of anyone diagnosing without taking a pulse or knowing what appendicitis even is. How come I’ve never heard of it? Sister… Doctor Shao should avoid recklessly treating people, the Marquis and Master Yan are here, and if anything real happens, you won’t escape the blame.”
“If you don’t understand, then don’t speak, as if you’re afraid others won’t know how ignorant you are,” Shao He slightly squinted her eyes, her gaze toward Jiner turned colder.
“You…” A surge of anger rose from the bottom of Jiner’s heart.
Shao He’s blunt words had hit the nail on the head, enraging her deeply.
Shao He continued to explain, “Appendicitis is a complication caused by the fragmentation, displacement, or damage of the intestinal viscera and gastric mucosa.”
“It can be categorized into acute appendicitis, chronic appendicitis, chronic pancreatitis, etc. Typically, appendicitis is accompanied by general body pain or severe coughing, nausea, vomiting, among other symptoms. If not treated promptly, it can pose serious risks, and this nanny must undergo an appendectomy.”
Jiner gritted her teeth; she didn’t care whether this old lady had appendicitis or not, the point was just to prevent Shao He from succeeding.
With that thought, she righteously rebuked, “Nonsense!”
“Oh? Is that so? Then please, Miss Luo, what do you think I got wrong?” Shao He looked at her with a mocking smile.
“I’m not a Doctor, how would I know what you got wrong?” Jiner’s cheeks reddened, completely clueless about medical matters, simply not wanting Shao He to be too complacent.
“Since that’s the case, why do you obstruct my treatment?” Shao He raised an eyebrow in rebuttal.
“You…” Jiner was at a loss for words.
“I am willing,” Nanny Zhang said weakly.
All eyes turned to her as Nanny Zhang endured the pain in her abdomen and gritted her teeth, “I am willing to let Doctor Shao perform the surgery. I trust her…”
Shao He called the servant boy over, instructing him to lead the few women to carry Nanny Zhang to the operating room. It was a specially designated place for surgeries she and Yun Qian had set up, restricted to everyone except for her, Yun Qian, and the patient.
“Cutting open the belly is clearly witchcraft, not a doctor curing illness,” Jiner scoffed.
Chu Yu also chimed in, “Exactly, I see she clearly doesn’t have medical skills, but is using black magic to harm people!”
Shao He glanced at the two, retorting angrily, “I’m not acquainted with either of you. If you don’t want treatment, please leave.”
Chu Yu watched as she passed by, feeling that she was very different from before, “I need to oversee your treatment of the patient, to see how you treat them.”
Yun Qian stepped forward to stop him, “Doctor Shao cannot be disturbed during surgery, as it will interfere with her treating the patient.”
Behind them, the crowd was buzzing even more, all discussing whether one could survive after being cut open.
Shao He arrived in the prepared side room, which had been converted into a small operating room. She changed into sterile attire, put on a mask, and prepared surgical tools, sitting in front of the operating table.
Using the YS system, she focused her mind, mentally summoning the necessary equipment, anesthetics, and surgical supplies, though this time, the need for a minimally invasive laparoscope required more mental efforts than usual, beads of sweat quietly appearing on her forehead.
Only when the required instruments appeared did she slowly open her eyes and called toward the door, “Yun Qian, come and assist me.”
What do you think?
