After ensuring that the children were well-fed and putting them to bed next to their younger son, Qin Xue took the prepared chicken and pig stomach soup and three jars of pickles, along with two jars of hot sauce, said a few words to those present, and then left the house.

Qin Xue had to ask people for directions on her way and it took her nearly half an hour to reach the entrance of the academy. Looking at the not so new buildings, she knew they couldn’t compare with the seven to ten-story buildings of teaching institutions from her previous life. However, this very school had produced numerous outstanding students.

“Hello, could you tell me at what time your classes end for meals?” She arrived at the security booth and asked after looking around for a bit.

“May I know how I can assist you?” The guard asked Qin Xue, who was an incredibly beautiful young woman. Everyone who encountered Qin Xue always took her for a young girl because she was naturally young and had been exercising consistently post-pregnancy, and didn’t look like a married woman who’d had a child at all. Unless she mentioned it herself, nobody would believe she was a mother.

“I’m looking for Chu Molin, could you tell me when your classes end? Could you help me find him?” Qin Xue asked.

“It won’t be long, why don’t you come inside and wait? It’s quite chilly out here.” The guard noticed Qin Xue was carrying several items and the wind outside was strong, and thus suggested that she wait inside.

...

“Okay, thank you.” Qin Xue took the notebook handed to her and began registering. After she finished, she handed back the notebook to the guard and entered the security booth to wait for Chu Molin to finish class.

Among the two guards, one checked the time and left to call for someone, while the other continued to stay erect and guarded. These were soldiers of Hua Country, the fearless heroes who didn’t flinch at any difficulty.

Qin Xue waited until she heard the class ending bell before she looked towards the servicemen lining up for dismissal. Each team was standing straight like tall and sturdy pine and cypress trees. Suddenly, among the crowd, a figure that rendered her momentarily stunned approached her.

Chu Molin didn’t expect the person who came to see him would be his wife; the guard had not told him the name of the person looking for him. Hence, when he saw his wife, it came as a complete surprise.

“Xue’er, how come you’re here?” Chu Molin looked at the woman standing at the entrance, her face beaming with joy while looking at him. He felt his heart soften, happiness blooming inside him like he had just eaten honey.

“I came to see what your school looks like.” Qin Xue smiled at the man standing before her.

“Have you eaten yet? Come, let’s go eat.” Chu Molin looked at his wife, surprised that she had come at this hour; she must be famished.

Chu Molin didn’t understand why he assumed that Qin Xue came to see him at this time just to have a meal. Did they run out of food at home?

“I came to bring you food, not to freeload a meal.” Qin Xue said, looking at him in disbelief.

“What food did you bring?” Chu Molin was curious about what delicious meal she had prepared for him this time.

“Hehe, I bet you can’t guess. I’m sure you’ve never had it before. Sniff it, doesn’t it smell great?” Qin Xue ignored how Chu Molin would react and immediately opened the bag for him to see.

All Chu Molin saw was a seemingly round object, but before he could see clearly, Qin Xue had already closed the bag.

“Chu Molin, give these two jars of meat to those two people. There’s enough for you here.” Qin Xue handed over two jars of meat sauce to Chu Molin.

Why did Qin Xue ask Chu Molin to deliver the food instead of doing it herself? There was a reason for it. If she, an ordinary citizen, presented the food to them, they would typically refuse. But since Chu Molin was part of the academy, the offering became friendly gestures, which they would accept. This was a difference between her and her husband.

“Alright, wait for me here. I’ll return quickly.” Chu Molin looked at his wife briefly, took the items without further words, and left.
