Chapter 1502: A Formidable Foe
-----
BOOOM!
An explosion engulfed the two teenagers, as the laser beams coming from the beetle’s eyes reached them within a split second.
Silvia tried to evade, but the beams were too fast, ultimately, Justicio was right in front of her, protecting her from the deadly beams.
"Justicio!"
She gasped as she saw the boy’s arms burning red, his metallic skin melting away.
"Uuggh…!" Your journey continues on NovelBin.Côm
He groaned in pain, gasping in disbelief that he survived that.
"SHYAAAH!"
The giant bug roared, about to fire yet another pair of missiles.
Silvia desperately grabbed Justicio and tried to run away, only for the beams to reach her.
BOOOM!
"Uwaagh!"
Barely evading them by jumping into the air, the explosion down below sent her flying even farther away, landing on the ground head-first.
"Ouch, ouch… Agh!"
"SHYAAERGH!"
The monstrous beetle rushed towards them, this time aiming to just crush them with her giant, sharp as spears legs!
Both of them were also Tier 7 but this thing was simply way too strong within her own lair, and also, perhaps a little too huge for what they imagined.
"Leave us alone!!!"
Silvia cried, slamming her hammer into the ground as a dozen of huge stone spears surged from the floor, piercing the monster’s legs and stopping its mad charge for a moment.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
As it was attacked from below, the monster started to lose its balance.
And right after that, someone started approaching.
BAAM!
Her steps made the ground tremble.
BAAM!
The entire cave started crumbling down, small boulders falling from the ceiling.
BAAM!
Her eyes, draconic in nature, glowed bright red.
Her aura transformed, darkness, ice, and oceanic water merging into a giant monster.
Aquarina was no more, but what was left behind was a monster.
Silvia and Justicio glanced at that form once more.
"S-She’s using that form again!" Justicio gasped.
"T-The pressure alone…!" Silvia stepped back. "It’s so much!"
Aquarina glared at the monster, after seeing Justicio’s state and Silvia’s scared face.
She grew angered.
It was slightly her fault too, she took the monster too easy, she wanted to exchange more blows.
But it ended being much more dangerous than she imagined.
"You pissed the fuck out of me."
Her words pierced through the insect’s soul.
"GYYEH?!" The insect stepped back in horror before Aquarina’s tremendous aura, which seemed to turn everything around her into an endless darkness with the cold of the worst winter snowstorm.
FLASH!
With a single step forward, Aquarina appeared in front of the insect, swinging her fist forward, her Aura transforming into a giant black dragon made of black ice, swinging its huge claws.
CRAAASH!
With a single punch, the insect’s body was cleaved apart, as it lost four of its legs and a large chunk of its entire body.
"G-GRYAAERGH?!"
The insect was sent flying away, hitting the walls with tremendous force and making boulders fall over her entire body, although this didn’t even hurt her hard exoskeleton.
"KRIEEEH!"
In desperation, the monster channeled more of her spiritual powers, firing two beams against Aquarina. Silvia and Justicio panicked.
"Aquarina, be careful!"
"It’ll melt anything!"
Aquarina, however, didn’t fear the beams, stepping forward and taking the two beams head-on, as they continued trying to melt and burn her skin or scaled.
BOOOM!
She started running, as the laser beams simply couldn’t pierce her!
And then, she swung her arm again.
CRAAASH!
The beams were destroyed as a huge wound appeared in the middle of the insect’s head.
"G-Gryyaaeregh!"
And then, its entire body was split apart, falling into the ground, its innards splattering everywhere…
"Ah right… If I go serious even Tier 7s are a fucking joke," she sighed. "I guess only Tier 9s will ever be a challenge at full power now, huh?"
For a moment, to Silvia and Justicio, it felt like there was another person in the room with them.
Even though the bug was dead, the two couldn’t help but tremble a bit.
The presence that Aquarina released, her voice, her mannerisms.
It was as if she had changed completely… into something else.
Like a monster.
"S-She’s really a damn monster, eh?" Justicio laughed. "Well, she saved us again, we owe her big time, right Silvia?"
"A-Ah! Yeah…" Silvia was snapped back to reality, she seemed paralyzed from fear. "Right… Yeah…"
"Calm down, it still Aquarina deep inside," said Justicio, patting her shoulders. "Get up…"
"Right, your wounds! Are you alright?!" Silvia wondered.
"It’s fine, they hurt like hell but it’s not bleeding," said Justicio. "Ugh…" @@novelbin@@
"Let me heal you," Aquarina appeared behind him, without Justicio even realizing.
"Uwaah! You scared me!" he cried.
"Eh? Stop being such a crybaby…" Aquarina sighed, facepalming, as she returned to normal. "Undine! Heal him up please."
"Okay~" Undine covered Justicio’s arms and entire body with a cold, spring water, which healed his wounds instantly. "For wounds of this caliber, it’s easy to heal~! Though regrowing limbs would be hard!"
"Phew… thanks for the help," Justicio sighed in relief. "Anyways, it’s finally over… But I feel bad if I take this for myself…"
"Hahaha! As if I would let you! You can only take a part of it, the rest of this big baby is mine," Aquarina smiled. "I’m going to save most of it for my girl though. Silvia, you ok?"
"Y-Yeah, I’m fine… I was just too scared for some reason, dammit," Silvia muttered. "I need to get over it… I need more experience."
"Well, being scared is only a natural thing, even I have felt scared sometimes," said Aquarina. "When we’re fighting something so strong we can’t win against… Like that time we fought an Evil Goddess with Sylphy, my friends, and our families. That was really terrifying!"
"A-An Evil Goddess?!" Silvia asked in shock and horror. "Hah, Aquarina, you’re too much sometimes! Hahaha!" Then, she just laughed it off.
The trio went to store the giant prize of today, until suddenly, as Silvia looked at the corpse and caressed its soft exoskeleton, something appeared.
FLASH!
It was a faint golden glow, which rapidly gathered together into something, some sort of small little creature.
It was shaped like a small golden beetle, with feathered wings and a big red jewel over its head…
"Uhh… A-Aquarinaaaa! I think I met the Spirit!"
