Chapter 618 Diabolical
A few seconds had gone by since Veronica's declaration of the exchange rate, but the crowd showed no intention of being capable of processing the information.
Even Carmen, who had been overseeing from the top, was dumbfounded by Veronica's declaration.
"Holy hell… she's even more diabolical than the Guild Leader," Carmen muttered. She swallowed a mouthful of saliva as disbelief colored her eyes. She vividly recalled that Xu Feng mentioned that 1 Raid Point would be equivalent to 1 Copper Coin.
And at the moment, the exchange rate of 1 copper coin to dollars was about 5-10 dollars.
Yet Veronica outright declared that 1 Raid Point now required 1000 dollars to be exchanged.
Let's say 1 copper coin equals 10 dollars max, then 1 Raid Point was equivalent to 1 silver coin. After all, 100 copper coins equals 1 silver coin, and if the value of copper coins was set at 10. Then 10 times 100 equals 1000.
The increase of that said percentage exchange value was so high that Carmen found it baffling.
It was the equivalent of claiming that the 1 dollar from a few months ago was now worth 1000 dollars. Just imagine the horror and shock that the person who had that 1 dollar would feel.
Despite knowing that Veronica was blatantly extorting, Carmen didn't plan on intruding.
'Did the Guild Leader predict Veronica's diabolical means to be equivalent— no, greater than him?' Astounded, Carmen realized she had much to learn.
While she held such a thought, back on the stage, Veronica smiled brightly.
"Alright, now that this question has been addressed. I don't wish to delay it any further. The auction begins and other than bidding voices, I don't wish to hear anything else. Finally, please remain polite and wait for the person to finish saying their bid before going." Veronica announced and eagerly waited for the people to start bidding like some wild cat.
Shortly after the announcement, the crowd finally resumed to what an auction was supposed to be like. Explore hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire
"40 Raid Points!" Steelshot swiftly declared his bid. His objective here was to bid for all useful items for his guild. He couldn't care less what others thought of him.
Stay mad if you want!
These Raid Points were hard-earned by him and the guild, so they can just shove their rage up their throat instead!
And without a doubt, the other guilds and teams, found Steelshot's action to be extremely annoying.
Not only was the latter not using any actual in-game currency, but he even raised the bid by 10 silver coins automatically.
They wanted nothing more than to kill the latter 10 times, 10,000 times, and more to vent their frustration.
However, now was not the time for it.
"I bid 45 Silver Coins!"
"60 Silver Coins, that Greater Experience Potion Buff is mine!"
"Tsk, I bid 1 gold coin!"
As the bidding price went higher and higher, the rest soon came to a realization of just how much they missed out by not participating in the Vanguard Guild's large-scale raid.
Guilds such as the likes of Tyrant Fist, Solaris, Dark Legion, Phoenix, and Starlight were at an extreme advantage as they used Raid Points to bid.
100 Raid Points were equivalent to 1 gold coin and each of these guilds had accumulated more than just 100 Raid Points during the raid. Of course, even the Adventure Teams that had gambled their wealth to secure the raid slots were filled with joy.
"200 Raid Points!"
"My Solaris Guild bid 210 Raid Points!"
"That's not ethical of you. Only 10 raid points increment? I bid 250 Raid Points!"
When those who were familiar with the person who just raised the bid price to 250, they all cursed silently in their mind. After all, the person was none other than Iceheart, who seemed to have undergone a change in behavior recently.
The Iceheart they knew was stone-cold and almost emotionless. However, rumors lately about her seemed to be that she became much more amiable.
And with Iceheart's known contribution in the raid, as well as the fact that she was part of the team with the Guild Leader of Vanguard Guild. Almost everyone hesitated and didn't dare to bid higher than her 250 Raid Points.
250 Raid Points were equivalent to 2 Gold and 50 Silver Coins. It was already an astronomical value, but the fact that Iceheart had yet to even use her actual in-game currency, no one wanted to cross her.
"Hmm, you're all free to bid if you want." Iceheart noticed many glances at her so she spoke up, suggesting they bid however they wanted.
Meanwhile, Veronica didn't care about the others' current emotions as she proceeded to announce.
"250 Raid Points going once. 250 Raid Points going twice." As Veronica continued to announce the final call, she noticed no one else wanted to raise the bid. Although it was a pity that the profit wasn't in her ideal value, she still congratulated Iceheart.
"Congratulations to Iceheart for winning the Greater Experience Potion Buff." She said and proceeded to move on to the next item.
Her next item was displayed, and the crowd turned silent.
"For our next item, it's another Greater Experience Potion Buff!" Veronica smiled and explained, "This might not be a 300% boost, but it's 100% and can be stacked along with the previous one."@@novelbin@@
"..."
There was only one word in the minds of many currently that described Veronica: Diabolical.
Had they known the items were going to be stacked together to a whopping 400% experience boost, then they would have gone all in from the start.
While the crowd realized how much they had severely underestimated the shrewdness of Veronica, back at the Origin Trial, Xu Feng remained unaware of his subordinate's greatness.

"So you're saying you have a cure for me, Cleric Michael?" Cole asked in a suspicious tone.
"You can just call me, Michael." Xu Feng mused and responded. "As for the cure, I'll still need to test some samples from you to research. I'm not omnipotent, after all."
What do you think?
