Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 619 Bioweapon

By now, Xu Feng had gotten the gist of how and when Cole got infected.

Apparently, Cole was assigned to install some satellites and a more complicated defensive design to benefit Battleship Lux on a Planet called Zaun.

However, during the installation, Cole felt nauseous, and his eyes soon turned hazy. At first, Cole merely thought it was due to overworking and being unfamiliar with the atmosphere of the planet.

Thus, he took on some medical pills and resumed his installation, given there was a deadline to meet.

Yet two days later, Cole felt his condition not only turned for the better but had worsened instead. And now, his hands were trembling uncontrollably, almost as if he had contracted Parkinson's disease.

"Did no other Cleric from the Medical Division try to treat you properly before my arrival?" Xu Feng questioned, his hands wearing specialized gloves to extract some samples from Cole's body.

Smiling bitterly, Cole responded, "They did send over a few. One of them was of a similar Rank as me, but it was discovered that they became infected as well."

"Hmm, and what happened afterward?" Xu Feng pressed on, putting the extracted sample in a concealed test tube.

These were all equipment that had been prepared beforehand for him, and thankfully, there was a system guide that allowed him to study and learn what to do. Otherwise, the Origin Trial would be practically impossible to clear with all this technical work.

"I've heard he was sent to Room 12 and his condition seemed to be worse than mine. According to what I've been informed through the projected screen, it seemed like whatever bacteria was inside me had mutated and transferred to him."

When Cole finished explaining, he felt guilty for causing a fellow crewmate to become infected.

If only he had reported his condition early on and not waited until something severe occurred, then maybe there wouldn't have been a risk of infection.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng remained silent after hearing his story.

Usually, the best method to resolve an infectious disease was to directly eliminate the source.

In other words, the crisis could have been easily resolved as long as they killed Cole and made sure to disinfect everything he had touched.

And with how ruthless the Battleship Lux operated on, given they killed Trainees without batting an eyelid, and treating them as if they were ants. Xu Feng found it hard to believe they wouldn't resort to such a simple yet cruel method to resolve the crisis.

"Cole, do you perhaps have a great connection with the higher-ups?" Xu Feng jokingly asked.

"Connection with the higher-ups?" Hearing that question, Cole nearly wanted to laugh but couldn't due to his deteriorating condition.

He coughed a few times before shaking his head. "If I had connections with the higher-ups, then I wouldn't have been sent to Planet Zaun alone to install the satellites."

Indeed, Planet Zaun was a newly discovered planet that Battleship Lux stumbled across. And it was a galactic ironclad law that whoever discovered a planet and installed their flag in it, then that planet was effectively under said battleship.

Of course, the flag was just a saying. It was more of a required satellite installment and more equipment that proved the battleship was qualified enough to be the owner.

There were three main requirements to be qualified as owner: surveillance, manpower, and ability to defend the planet from invaders.

"Cole, do your fellow crewmates in your Division know how to install those satellites and defensive design?" Xu Feng questioned further.

"Of course, they do." Cole rolled his eyes, wondering why this Cleric was asking him so many questions unrelated to his health.@@novelbin@@

"Were you sent here to interrogate me in reality?" He narrowed his eyes and glanced at him suspiciously.

"Do you think I'll be staying in this room with you if that was the case?" Unfazed by the gaze, Xu Feng remained upfront and confident.

Nodding, Cole found it hard to refute Xu Feng's claim.

Anyone who came to him at this time was simply asking to be executed sooner or later once the bacteria went out of control.

While Cole only thought that his life was about to end, Xu Feng, on the other hand, began to realize Battleship Lux was not as great as they proposed.

'A virus weapon.' Xu Feng thought, finding it laughable at how wrong his deduction was.

He wasn't sent here to treat Cole at all but rather to research the symptoms and the unknown bacteria. Without a doubt, Harvey wanted him to come up with a result that could utilize the bacteria inside Cole to turn it into a weapon.

As for why Harvey made such a move, it was the Paralyze Syringe that he showcased.

Harvey must have recognized the original person's talent and believed they could be the key to resolving a big headache for Battleship Lux. And if he were to be proven wrong, then they could just have him killed and called it a day.

'No wonder he easily agreed to grant me the clearance level.' He pursed his lips.

The clearance level wasn't meant for the Paralyze Syringe creation. Instead, it was for him to use the material to create a virus weapon.

If the creation was a success, then forget about manpower requirements.

Just this unknown virus weapon was enough to act as a deterrent for any possible invaders and save Battleship Lux manpower and resources to defend Planet Zaun.

"Is it really hopeless, Michael?" Cole, who mistakenly thought Xu Feng's silence was because his condition was incurable, asked bitterly. Experience tales at My Virtual Library Empire

And before Xu Feng could respond, Cole continued. "I know a few people here and I can tell them to let you go. You can be disinfected and checked to ensure nothing is safe. You shouldn't stay here when I'm literally a bioweapon that would infect his crewmates."

Startled, Xu Feng turned his attention to him. "So you've already known why they didn't execute you in the first place huh…"
