Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 654: Clubbing

After they finished their introduction, they all began to gather up and sit.

"Here I thought you were some bigshot, but you turned out to be a dropout." Rebecca mused, clearly astonished from earlier. She wouldn’t have ever guessed Xu Feng was just a student based on his previous demeanor and confidence.

"Likewise, I didn’t expect you to actually have friends." Xu Feng returned the gesture and took another sip of the alcohol.

The atmosphere was still quite tense between the two, but it was definitely better than before. With Allison’s presence, it was evident that she wanted to nullify the tension.

Since Allison wanted so, both Xu Feng and Rebecca naturally stopped their subtle jabs at each other.

Of course, Xu Feng only showed it on the surface.

Secretly, he was already thinking of what this woman was capable of.

’She’s definitely the one who wanted Allison to investigate me, otherwise, she wouldn’t have appeared at Avalon City.’ Xu Feng inwardly exclaimed.

Given the fact that Xu Feng did his best to save Allison from danger, there was no way she could have continued her hidden agenda. It was also why he hadn’t heard from her requesting him to carry her into the Divine World after the incident.

Additionally, the city was currently still in lockdown, but Rebecca somehow appeared here.

There were only two possibilities in such a case.

One, she had arrived here prior to the lockdown and was merely residing somewhere else. The chance of this was quite low, to be honest. If she were planning on showing up from the start, then she wouldn’t have been required to request Allison.

Thus, the second possibility was more likely, which was that Rebecca rushed over here immediately either hearing the news of Allison being ambushed or that she no longer wished to investigate him.

Therefore, Rebecca used her status to bypass the lockdown. With her status, the lockdown naturally wouldn’t pose much of a problem for her at all, except that she would be on the radar now and with constant protection.

From the start, Xu Feng had sensed that besides the guards from the club itself, there were more guards that were hidden around them. However, they didn’t make a single move, which meant they were extremely skilled and perceptive.

Only professional guards could detect if whoever approached their client was dangerous or not in a split second.

To test the theory, he had tried to drink and accidentally made some possible threatening actions that could harm Rebecca. What he received in return was an intense pressure locked onto him, almost as if they were warning him to be careful or don’t do anything funny.

Naturally, he was unafraid of them, but what was disappointing was that Zhao Kai seemed oblivious to it all.

"Kai, let’s not bother them anymore and enter. I’m sure you are going to become salted fish soon if you stay dry for any longer." Xu Feng said, no longer intending to interact with Allison and Rebecca any further.

They were here to club and establish some new social connections.

What was the point of remaining here and interacting with people he already established with?

"You’re heading inside already?" Allison raised an eyebrow. She clearly didn’t expect Xu Feng to distance from them that quickly.

"Yup, your friend doesn’t seem to enjoy our company, so we won’t force ourselves. Also, beware of strangers who hand the drink to you from out of nowhere. I don’t want to have to save you again from danger." Xu Feng chuckled lightly.

Unamused, Allison rolled her eyes. "What do you take this club for? A place where evildoers can poison or drug the alcohol? If such a thing happened, then the club would be shut down and the perpetrator eliminated."

What Allison meant by eliminated was its literal meaning. They would be executed once caught regardless of their status and position.

After all, a club would never allow itself to be the den for creeps and predators to run amok.

Not to mention, such an act was the most frowned upon within the high-class circle. This wasn’t some typical cliche scene or place where you can do as you please just because you have some stinky money to flaunt around.

Sometime later, Xu Feng and Zhao Kai arrived at the main venue. Almost immediately, they were overwhelmed by the loud DJ sound, followed by more hype activity at the center.

Nearly everyone present were either holding a cup of beer or dancing at the shiny neon floor tiles that constantly switched. Naturally, there were some who remained seated at their table with some fancy chips and ladies or men to accompany them.

"Now this is what I call clubbing." Zhao Kai laughed heartily, finally relieved of having escaped that awkward atmosphere from earlier.

"Oh, what happened to the timid and quiet Kai? Where did you capture my friend too?" Xu Feng glanced around and asked in shock.

Unamused, Zhao Kai cleared his throat and feigned ignorance to the teasing.

"Anyway, I forgot to pay the bill for the alcohol earlier." He confessed. Since he was so out of place, he forgot to swipe his card.

"That’s alright. They can cover the cost." Xu Feng shrugged, not a bit worried.

Silent for a brief second, Zhao Kai nodded in agreement. "Yeah, they are rich enough to afford that."

After saying his piece, Zhao Kai then wandered his eyes at the exciting atmosphere.

For many days, he had been watched intently to do this and that. Now, he could finally be said to be free from his jail lifestyle.

Without further ado, Zhao Kai dashed ahead to the main center and started dancing some random moves. Simultaneously, he also approached a few women, hoping to strike up a conversation with them, only to end up being distanced.

"..."

’He didn’t really think this is the same lowly clubbing type where people come to get laid, right?’ Xu Feng smiled bitterly. He didn’t expect Zhao Kai to be serious about trying to club around and failed to understand his sarcasm.
