Chapter 930: Big Sister, Don't Come for Me
The first daytime yielded significant results, not only ruling out the soccer trio's suspicions but also suppressing Alice's actions.
Alice's clone, though seemingly powerful, had to be extremely cautious. The people present were seasoned contractors, including skilled hunters. Any slip, even a wrong look, would expose her, as shown by the third soccer player's earlier fake solemnity, which immediately drew suspicion.
As the first daytime neared its end, everyone returned to their rooms.
"I have a feeling I might get killed tonight," the detective loli murmured. Her active performance during the first daytime likely caught Alice's attention.
But was this the case? If Su Xiao were Alice, he wouldn't kill detective Loli on the first night for a simple reason: she would use her questioning right on the second daytime. Without this right, despite her deduction skills, she couldn't directly question anyone. Ordering others to question someone was out of the question; even the relatively agreeable soccer trio wouldn't follow her commands unless everyone agreed.
The most likely target wasn't detective Loli but the Catwoman. During the first daytime, the detective loli only speculated on who Alice was, something Alice might enjoy. In contrast, the Catwoman deliberately stirred the pot, attempting to bait Alice, which was problematic for her. If someone were to die tonight, there was over a 40% chance it would be the Catwoman.
The soccer trio was the safest, followed by Pi Pan, then the man with glasses, and lastly, Su Xiao. Of course, this was Su Xiao's judgment, and he couldn't be sure what Alice was thinking.
After locking the door, Su Xiao secured it, though its effectiveness was limited. Bubu Wang hid under the bed, cautiously observing the room.
The room's lights dimmed until it was pitch black, which would last for two hours. Su Xiao took out a thick glow stick, breaking it to emit a soft yellow light that illuminated the room. The darkness could be dispelled by a light source.
Chattering sounds, like those of rodents, echoed. While this would terrify an ordinary person in such a horror-movie-like setting, Su Xiao remained calm. Not only was he unfazed by such environments, but if a ghost appeared, his first reaction would be to study its structure and then consider how to kill or capture it. His aura of blood and death would likely deter any ghost from approaching. In the adjacent Room 1, detective Loli was under her blanket, her wide eyes vigilantly scanning her surroundings.
"Could there be rats in the castle?" she wondered, shaking her head to dismiss the absurd thought.
Click, click…
The lock on her door automatically opened, making her shudder.
"No way, it's me? Shouldn't she kill the Catwoman first? Alice, big sister, you've come into my room," she muttered in despair as the door slowly opened to reveal a tattered, hooded old woman standing at the entrance.
"Little girl, do you want to buy some candles?" the old woman asked, revealing a gold tooth as she smiled.
"Candles?" the detective loli narrowed her eyes, contemplating. A few seconds later, she responded.
"What do I have to pay?"
"Your soul," the old woman chuckled.
...
In Room 2, Su Xiao held a glass against the wall, eavesdropping.
"Candles? Souls?" he heard from the next room.
Originally, Su Xiao thought the detective Loli was being attacked. Now, it seemed that wasn't the case; she might not be facing Alice.
Click, click…
As Su Xiao eavesdropped, his door lock automatically opened.
"Such aggressive sales tactics," he muttered, drawing his Dragon Flash.
Creak~
The door opened, revealing a pitch-black corridor.
Click, click, click...
The sound of high heels approached, and soon, a tall, shadowy figure stood at the door.
The shadow was shrouded in black mist, making it impossible to discern any features. Su Xiao tried to sense the figure's aura but was surprised to find none. This was unexpected; everyone had an aura, even if faint, but no two auras were identical. This figure had none, despite clearly being a flesh-and-blood entity.
The shadow and Su Xiao locked eyes in silence.
Click, click, click…
The shadow stepped into the room, removing her high heels and placing them at the door. A transparent barrier enveloped the room, turning it into a sealed chamber.
Su Xiao recalled that detective loli and Catwoman didn't wear high heels, but he had seen Alice wearing them on the second floor.
The shadow's identity was clear—it was Alice's clone.
Realizing this, Su Xiao became more intrigued. He sensed that the clone had a physical body, suggesting that Alice's clone might be a tangible entity. This was highly likely.
The Apostle's Eye floated in the air, scanning Alice's information. While it was a perception-based tool, it didn't conflict with Su Xiao's intuition. Equipment abilities and personal skills could coexist.
