Chapter 212: Chapter 211: Confessing Past Experiences to Her
Ming Yao finished speaking and turned to leave.
The man saw the back of her departing figure, and his black pupils contracted sharply.
Ignoring the plaster on his leg, he hobbled after her.
When the woman reached the elevator, he caught up with her.
Ripping off the bandage on his arm, he grabbed her from behind in a tight embrace.
“Little Yao, you are not allowed to leave!”
Passing nurses and patients turned their gazes their way.
Ming Yao’s face turned bright red, “Let go of me!”
Gu Siting was in no mood to let go. With a bit more effort, he hoisted her onto his shoulder.
He could hardly walk steadily himself, yet he carried Ming Yao, her face turned downward, and at any moment she might fall to the ground.
Her blood rushed to her head.
She was both embarrassed and annoyed.
“Gu Siting, put me down!”
Was he trying to kill her?
“If I put you down, you’ll run away.”
More onlookers gathered around.
Ming Yao felt like a monkey on display at the zoo. Biting her lip, she reluctantly gave in, “I won’t run, put me down first.”
After the man set her down, his large palm clutched her slender fingers tightly.
The grip was so firm she couldn’t break free.
He pulled her back to the hospital room.
He locked the door from the inside and pinned her between his chest and the door frame.
The man lowered his head, his dark eyes intently on her, “Mrs. Gu, would you like to hear a story?”
Ming Yao had intended to say no, but seeing the depth in his eyes, like whirlpools, she pressed her lips tightly together and said neither yes nor no.
Gu Siting observed her trembling eyelashes, as fine and dense as butterfly wings. His firm jaw rested atop her head as he began in a voice hoarse to the extreme, “There was a little boy who almost died at the hands of kidnappers. It was not easy for him to survive; his parents didn’t care for him, it was a nanny at home who looked after him tirelessly.”
“The nanny was good to him, seeing that he was traumatized from the kidnapping, she found him a psychologist. With the nanny’s care and the psychologist’s treatment, he gradually recovered and a smile returned to his face.”
“He began to trust the nanny and, due to a lack of love, he started to regard her as a family member, as dear as his own mother. He would share with her whatever good things he had, and this harmonious relationship continued for two years.”
“The nanny took him out for fried chicken and drinks. He had no guard up. He never imagined that the person he trusted most would drug his drink.”
“When he woke up, he was in a luxurious private room,” as if recalling the most painful memory he wished to forget, his entire being turned gloomy and dark, and his tall frame began to tremble uncontrollably.
Ming Yao sensed his emotions and her brows knit tightly together.
She lifted her head to look at him, but his large palm pressed on her head, preventing her from doing so.
“Don’t look at me.” His voice was raspier than ever.
Even without seeing his expression, Ming Yao could clearly feel that something was off with his emotions.
It was the deepest, most painful wound in his heart, the pain he least wanted to recall.
Ming Yao stretched out her arms, instinctively wrapping them around his lean waist, “Mr. Gu, stop talking, please stop, I don’t want to hear anymore.”
The man closed his eyes, his lips trembling slightly.
“In the private room sat several well-dressed middle-aged men.”
Ming Yao had already anticipated what would happen next. The arms holding the man’s waist tightened.
“Don’t recall it anymore, I really don’t want to hear it!”
Gu Siting’s eyes reddened, his teeth clattering, “You may guess what they intended to do. In that crisis moment, the little boy grabbed a broken wine bottle and stabbed it into one of the men’s abdomen.”
Gu Siting let go of Ming Yao, his hands cradling his own head as he slowly squatted down.
“He was then taken to the police station, and if not for the old lady, he might have died long ago…”
As Ming Yao heard Gu Siting’s narrative, her entire body felt icy cold.
She didn’t dare imagine how she had made it through!
She squatted down, her slender fingertips tightly clasping his large palm.
“It’s all in the past, there won’t be such people anymore.”
The man slowly raised his head, his narrow black eyes tinged with a terrifying crimson, “So, the little boy developed a severe psychological disorder. He extremely detests others’ deceit and betrayal. With the slightest disturbance, he would lose control like a crazy person…”
Ming Yao’s eyes misted over with a layer of water.
She had never imagined that Tyrant Gu’s childhood was so devastating!
No wonder, the last time he learned she had deceived him by assuming the identity of a little maid, his reaction was so intense!
So, there was a reason for everything!
It wasn’t that he was unreasonably angry, but because he had a severe illness in his heart!
Although Aunt Zhong had told her before that he suffered from paranoia, she didn’t know he was once hurt and deceived by the people he trusted most when he was little—
Ming Yao raised her fingers to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.
She couldn’t bear to think about how she had made it through!
“Mrs. Gu, as long as you don’t deceive me, I won’t do anything to you…” he raised his long fingers and gently wiped away a tear from the corner of her eye.
Hearing his words, Ming Yao stiffened significantly.
As long as she didn’t deceive him…
But—
Ming Yao thought about why she decided to stay, for the sake of his heart blood, and she began to feel lost, hesitant, and alarmed.
If he were to find out the truth one day, he surely wouldn’t be able to bear it!
His childhood had already been so miserable, would she really add another stab to his heart?
…
In the suburban courtyard.
Jing Hang saw Ming Yao, who had been sitting on the couch and staring blankly into space with Little Snowball ever since she came back. He approached her and poked her arm, “Senior sister, what’s wrong with you?”
Ming Yao took quite a while to come back to her senses, lifting her long lashes to look at Jing Hang.
Jing Hang saw the redness in her eyes and was taken aback.
“You haven’t been suffering from several days of insomnia again, have you?”
Ming Yao shook her head, “I’ve been crying.”
Jing Hang was even more shocked, “You’ve cried this much?”
Ming Yao looked out of the floor-to-ceiling window at the mountain range, her voice hoarse and ethereal, “Jing Hang, maybe I was wrong from the start.”
Jing Hang felt confused.
“Senior sister, I really don’t understand what you’re talking about.”
“I don’t want him to get hurt anymore, maybe leaving is for the best.”
What do you think?
