Chapter 116: Chapter 114 New Job (2nd update! Please subscribe! Please vote monthly!)

Biland Island.

Jiang Qiao directly led the Lion Heart Knight and Queen Mei to the edge of the island.

“Is this another world?”

Queen Mei, wearing a triple-flower cat hood, looked around; she saw no trace of any players, only vaguely hearing the roar of wild beasts coming from deep within the forest.

This was a desolate primeval forest, deserted and uninhabited. Yet, for Queen Mei, everything was fresh and new, whether it was the sun in the sky or the towering trees around her.

“Let me introduce this island again, it’s called Biland Island. Players will arrive at the battlefield in an hour. That ancient tree will be the center of your camp. The aim for the Guardians is to protect that ancient tree and build a camp around it.”

...

While explaining the surroundings, Jiang Qiao once again took out a wagon shop and started crafting the initial missions for the players’ visit.

“Mei… I just tentatively decided on the role you will play on this island.” While crafting the mission, Jiang Qiao signed the mission with the name ‘Alu’.

The missions were merely about gathering various materials for building the camp.

“What role?”

Queen Mei stood on a half-meter-tall boulder next to the wagon, using it to look into the distance, yet even with her height, she couldn’t see far.

“Just stand here! In my setting, you are a character of mystery, which means a very mysterious identity.” Pointing at the distant ancient tree, Jiang Qiao said, “That ancient tree is the player’s stronghold, temporarily housing a very important character for the players, Guardian Spirit·Furya.”

“I know her,” Queen Mei said. “I heard the name Furya mentioned during my first battle with them, and during my practice with the Heavenly Palace, I heard a lot about her… She seems like a puppet serving the players?”

“She is a puppet serving the players. Each player has a unique Furya, and now they all reside within that ancient tree. Mei, your persona is to know that Furya is hiding inside, and then you issue missions for the players to take care of Furya and build the camp.”

Jiang Qiao wanted to remind Queen Mei that if she killed Furya, she would become the most popular NPC in the entire game.

But even if Jiang Qiao told Queen Mei, she wouldn’t care… Queen Mei really wasn’t interested in popularity; she was here to do nothing more than talk with more players.

“Should I practice some lines? Like those from an ancient court performance long, long ago?”

Queen Mei understood her role, a mysterious figure residing on Biland Island. After discovering Furya, she would covertly protect her, guiding the players on how to establish their stronghold and how to support their own spouses when they arrived.

“No need to practice lines, you just need to remember your identity, okay?”

Jiang Qiao was giving these instructions when he suddenly felt the presence of someone approaching. The Lion Heart Knight was quicker than Jiang Qiao; he stepped out of the wagon shop first, holding a metal long staff in his hand.

“It’s not a Guardian’s presence.” The Lion Heart Knight stood in front of Jiang Qiao and Mei, “The original inhabitants of this world? Proxies… How should we handle this situation?”

Lion Heart Knight and the Holy Spirit had been fighting for three days and three nights, he could distinguish the different aura between ordinary people and the Holy Spirit… This different aura might stem from some ridiculous halo emanating from the Holy Spirit.

“See if the other party is friendly or full of hostility, and if it is hostile, you can fight back.”

Jiang Qiao gazed at the figures approaching from the edge of the island, a group of fully armed soldiers clad in dark red armor, with the female leader wearing standard military attire, standing tall without armor.

They had no mounts and had walked here; Jiang Qiao cast a reconnaissance spell towards the female leader.

‘Name: Lyla Ferisi, Level: 33, Occupation: Warrior Class·Magic Class, Description: Native of this world.’

Upon seeing Jiang Qiao and his group, they immediately went into a tense battle stance, but the commander named Lyla raised her hand, signaling her soldiers not to panic, her deep red pupils assessing the Lion Heart Knight and Jiang Qiao, and… Queen Mei wearing a tricolor cat hood.

“My name is Lyla Ferisi, I am the commander of the Fourth Legion Chasers of the Daylight Nation,” she introduced herself succinctly upon meeting.

The reason she was so polite was because of the Lion Heart Knight; Jiang Qiao seemed to be a Mage, and Queen Mei wearing a tricolor cat hood was puzzling to her.

But wherever the Lion Heart Knight stood… his oppressive presence was palpably intense, and her rich combat experience allowed her to recognize that the Lion Heart Knight was indeed a powerful warrior.

“Donna, a carriage merchant,” the Lion Heart Knight also made a simple self-introduction, using the identity Jiang Qiao had given him, speaking lies without batting an eye.

“Carriage merchant?” Lyla lightly pinched her black hair tips on her forehead, “This is Biland Island, one of the most dangerous islands among the Seven Seas, desolate and uninhabited, how could you possibly come here to do business?”

The carriage merchant store behind the Lion Heart Knight lent a bit of credence to his excuse, but just a bit, as unreasonable as finding an ice cream shop in the Amazon rainforest.

“How do you know there’s nobody here, maybe it will get lively in a moment?” Jiang Qiao glanced at the system time on his device, noticing there were only forty minutes left until the server went live.

Jiang Qiao’s words caused Lyla’s soldiers behind her to become extremely tense, and after a moment of silence, Lyla said…

“Four days ago, a ship transporting dangerous criminals sank near Biland Island, the ship was filled with powerful Magic Thieves! They have already nestled on the island, trading with them would not be a wise decision,” Lyla said, “You still have a chance to leave.”

“I appreciate your suggestion, but we do not intend to leave,” Queen Mei interjected.

“This is not a suggestion, it’s an order,” Lyla suddenly became assertive.

“You have no authority to order me.”

Queen Mei responded in an equally assertive manner, the Lion Heart Knight’s iron staff already gathering lightning, while Lyla’s soldiers also readied themselves for battle.

“Criminals? How about you commission us to capture those criminals?” Jiang Qiao’s words instantly diffused the tense atmosphere.
