Secret Wealthy Marriage

Chapter 26 - 26 26 Dont Be Angry

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Don’t Be Angry Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Don’t Be Angry When Xavier Estrada entered the mansion, Carolinne Ruiz happened to be running out. He wanted to greet her, but she didn’t notice him at all, so he could only give up on that thought.

Then he saw Sophia Lawson chasing after Carolinne. Xavier respectfully greeted her, “Ma’am.”

“Mm.” Sophia nodded and continued chasing after Carolinne.

Xavier turned his head to look at the worried faces of the old lady and master from the Hawkins family, then headed straight to the backyard without saying anything.

Bryan Hawkins had completely closed himself off. Today, Carolinne rarely came by, giving them hope. However, she was angered by that bastard and left, affecting their attitude towards Xavier, Bryan’s loyal follower.

Xavier didn’t say anything as he had received a call from Bryan.

He was Bryan’s special assistant, and since Bryan hadn’t been going to work, his position was virtually meaningless. He hadn’t been to the Hawkins building for work in several days either.

When Xavier saw Bryan, he had already taken a shower and changed into fresh clothes. Sitting in a wheelchair, he still looked handsome.

“Mr. Hawkins.” Xavier respectfully greeted.

“Mm. I heard you haven’t been to the Hawkins building for work in three days?” Bryan’s voice was cold, blaming Xavier as soon as he opened his mouth.

“I am your special assistant, and you are not there, so…” Xavier thought that since Bryan wasn’t going to work, who should he be assisting?

“Come here.” Bryan said faintly.

Xavier respectfully walked over, leaned in with his ear close, and Bryan leaned forward to say a long sentence.

“Yes, I understand. I’ll go to work tomorrow.” Xavier was Bryan’s most capable assistant. The reason Bryan could confidently close himself off was that he had Xavier. If Xavier didn’t go, he indeed couldn’t be too carefree.

“Mm, thank you.” Bryan knew that without him, Xavier’s position in the company would be difficult, but this was something they would have to face from now on.

As for the car accident, others might consider it an accident, but Bryan clearly understood that it was not an accident.

Grandfather had also come to ask him, but he said nothing to Grampa Hawkins, for he had to deal with this matter on his own. The only person he could trust and rely on was Xavier.

He was very familiar with Xavier’s abilities, and he knew that Xavier valued loyalty. This was why he had promoted him to the position of special assistant without any qualifications.

As the saying goes, there are always outstanding talents, but the one who recognizes them may not be.

In the eyes of the world, those who recognize talents are great, but the talents themselves are even greater. However, in the eyes of extraordinary talents, having someone who recognizes their greatness allows them to be envied.

Therefore, Xavier’s gratitude to Bryan was more than just simple thanks. If he had not met Bryan in his life, his whole life would have probably passed by in a daze, or he might have even entered the gray area of fighting and killing.

Xavier left with his orders, and now he was full of zeal and ambition, quite different from the past three days. During these three days, when Bryan was closing himself off, he felt that his future was bleak.

Now, he realized that everything was just a diversion created by Bryan. No wonder he, Xavier, had chosen to follow him.

But Carolinne was genuinely sad just now, right? He seemed to have seen her tears fly out of her eyes.

——

When Sophia Lawson caught up with Carolinne, she had already run to the entrance of the villa.

Fortunately, the security guard helped stop her, and Sophia called out to her from behind, “Carolinne, wait a minute.”

Carolinne didn’t know Sophia had chased after her, so she wiped the tear stains on her face before turning to face Sophia, “Auntie, why did you chase me?”

“Did Bryan upset you? Auntie will apologize on his behalf.” Sophia pulled Carolinne aside to talk, expressing sincere apologies and explaining for Bryan, “Carolinne, Bryan… his mood isn’t good. Please try to understand him and do not get really angry at him.”

“Auntie, don’t say that, I know.” Carolinne nodded. How could she be angry with him? It was his words that made her realize that she indeed overestimated herself.

She didn’t qualify, and everything Bryan said was true. Even if she was upset, she would never be angry.

“You’re so young but quite sensible. No wonder Granny Hawkins likes you so much. Come and visit us when you have time, to keep me and Granny Hawkins company, okay?”

Sophia couldn’t say much more, after all, at this point, Bryan had a girlfriend.

“Yes, I’ll come to see you when I have time.” Carolinne nodded.

“Let me send you off.” Pupace Mountain was managed this way; without the homeowner’s escort, others couldn’t enter or leave.

“Thank you, Auntie.” Carolinne obediently walked out with her.

This was when Matilda Ferguson arrived. She had just gotten out of the taxi and saw Sophia and Carolinne emerging from the mansion. Matilda carried two bags of fruit and nutritious products.

Matilda glared at Carolinne, but since Sophia was there, she couldn’t be too aggressive towards Carolinne. Instead, she looked at Sophia with a smile, “Auntie, I came to see Bryan.”

“Auntie, I’ll go first.” Carolinne opened the taxi’s back door and got in smoothly. Sophia saw Carolinne off before turning to look at Matilda, “How did you get here? You know our family doesn’t welcome you.”

“Auntie, I’m sorry. Now that Bryan is like this, I can’t not come. Please, forgive me.” Matilda’s tears fell as she spoke.

She had learned to cry on command from her acting days in the past.

“Let me call Bryan first.” Sophia sighed. The reason she relented was that she somewhat hoped Bryan would accept post-treatment for Matilda’s sake.

Two minutes later, Sophia led Matilda into the villa.
