Chapter 57 Magic Weapons, Book of Calamity

In the blink of an eye, it was the morning of the next day, with Chu Wuyao waking up a little surprised.

Truthfully, she had expected that Li Ruoshi would come and deal with her once she showed that she had returned to the Original Desire Sect.

But surprisingly, even though Chu Wuyao had been waiting for her for the entire night, Li Ruoshi never showed up.

This development caught her off.

"Should I take the initiative and find Li Ruoshi to solve the problem once and for all?", she thought and her gaze turned sharp.

Due to her Devil Body, she had already recovered from her previous injuries and at the moment, she could bring out the full extent of her combat power.

With her current strength, Chu Wuyao was confident that no matter how strong Li Ruoshi was, she should be able to deal with her.

Her finger unconsciously stroked the black ring on her finger and her eyes glowed with a red light, but then she forced herself to calm down.

She didn't know what other means Li Ruoshi had.

Even the white-haired young man, who wasn't a member of a major sect, possessed an item like the Weird Eyeball, let alone a disciple like Li Ruoshi.

"It's not the right time yet."

"Anyway, the more time passes, the more advantageous the situation becomes for me.", she thought.

After all, Chu Wuyao believed that there should be no other person that was able to match her speed of getting stronger.

"This is all because of my supreme qualifications, my extraordinary intelligence and my own hard work.", she convinced herself.

Jumping up from the bed, after she was done dressing up, Chu Wuyao hurriedly pushed the door open and walked out.

Even though she had decided against murdering Li Ruoshi today, she still had a few things to do.

While she was walking in the streets of the sect, Chu Wuyao noticed that the atmosphere of the sect was slightly off.

No couples could be seen hugging in the streets, and no omniscient random passersby stood on the side commenting about the state of the sect and today's news.

Instead, the majority of the disciples could be seen rushing on the way, looking at everyone around them cautiously, as if they were ready to strike at the slightest offense.

Chu Wuyao immediately understood that she might have underestimated the impact of the outer disciples' deaths in the Outer Area.

Thinking of this, she sighed.

She didn't sigh because of the disciples' deaths, but by the fact that the sect didn't care at all about outer disciples like her.

Otherwise, Chu Wuyao believed that as long as an elder stepped forward and took action personally, they would be able to catch the culprit in less than an hour.

Let alone an elder, even a slightly stronger disciple might be able to find some clues.

Affected by these thoughts and the atmosphere around her, the steps of Chu Wuyao became a little quicker and it didn't take long her to reach her destination, the Original Library.

Chu Wuyao had already come here before to pick up the Blood Demon Body, so she wasn't unfamiliar with the building.

Soon, she arrived in front of a bookshelf, with the words "Magic Weapons" written at its top in red letters, and picked up a book at random.

[The Evolution of Magic Weapon Forging: A detailed description of how the art of Magic Weapon Forging has evolved over the years.]

After she read its title, Chu Wuyao put the book back to its place, then picked up another one.

Her movements continued, until she finally found two books she was actually interested in.

One of these was the one she was looking for, while the other one happened to pique her interest.

[An Introduction to Magic Weapons.]

[A List of the Top Ten Most Well-Known Magic Weapons.]

These books cost 50 contribution points each, which Chu Wuyao paid with no hesitation.

With her newfound wealth of more than 1000 contribution points, Chu Wuyao didn't care about such little amount of contribution points.

Since the two books contained general information and not techniques or skills, while the library was empty, Chu Wuyao didn't rush to return to her residence, but found a random chair and sat down, ready to read these two books here.

Holding the book that contained an introduction to the Magic Weapons in her hand, she turned to its first page and started reading.

"As we all know, Magic Weapons are essentially items forged by powerful cultivators that happen to possess cultivator-like power."

"But what many low-level cultivators don't know is that Magic Weapons are also divided into different ranks, according to their strengths and characteristics."

"In this book, I'm going to introduce and talk about the first three ranks of a Magic Weapon."

"The Spiritual Weapons, the Divine Weapons and the Dao Weapons."

After this short introduction, the author didn't waste any more time and talked about the characteristics of each Rank of Magic Weapons.

Soon, Chu Wuyao was able to gain a general understanding of Magic Weapons.

A Spiritual Weapon is a Magic Weapon of the lowest rank, and while it possesses powerful strength, it is still way weaker than a cultivator of the same level.

For example, if a cultivator at the 9th Level of Qi Accumulation goes against a cultivator at the Shackles Realm, even if they hold a Spiritual Weapon, they would never be able to put up a fight.

On the other hand, although Divine Weapons are still slightly weaker than cultivators, their strength is almost comparable, because they have actually started to possess intelligence.

Of course, this intelligence is quite low-level and mostly relies on its instincts.

This also means that in order to use a Divine Weapon, the cultivator has to get the approval of this intelligence.

The intelligence of a Magic Weapon becomes even more apparent when it becomes a Dao Weapon and the Magic Weapon becomes directly comparable to a living being.

It has thoughts, emotions and can even act on its own.

Because of this, Dao Weapons don't even need a cultivator to bring out their full strength.

A Dao Weapon can attack, defend and escape on its own, and has combat power equivalent to a Supernatural Realm cultivator.

Reading, Chu Wuyao became a little shocked.

Based on the combat power of the Qi Accumulation Realm and the Quasi-Shackles Li Zhengyu, Chu Wuyao could roughly judge the combat power of a cultivator at the Supernatural Realm.

At that level, cultivators have the ability to destroy mountains with a wave of their hands, fly at the speed of light and even jump out of this world.

In fact, Chu Wuyao felt that her estimation would only underestimate the strength of a Supernatural Realm cultivator!

But now, she learned that a Magic Weapon could actually possess such strength on its own.

Instantly, she was no longer so happy with her Blood Flag, which according to the book, was actually only a Low-Grade Spiritual Weapon.

Thankfully, the Blood Flag didn't have any intelligence, otherwise it might have betrayed her.

It took a long time for Chu Wuyao to calm down and close the book, only to open the second one.

But by the time she read the book's first page, her emotions were once again in disarray.

"The Book of Calamity: An Hymn to Destruction."

"There is an hymn written on the book which can resonate with the surrounding world, bringing unimaginable destructive power."

"Long ago, an entire continent was sunk as a result of the use of this book, killing billions of creatures with it."

"Hundreds of thousands of years ago, the hymn resounded throughout the known word, causing every living being to kneel down in surrender."

"Thousands of years ago, hundreds of Supernatural Realm cultivators besieged the headquarters of the Calamity Sect, only to die after hearing the hymn's first word."

"The Book of Calamity is currently owned by the Calamity Cult."
