Chapter 61 Sect Competition, Sect Leader
A burst of exclamations suddenly reached Chu Wuyao's ears and she had to turn her head to see what they were so surprised about.
Instantly, she understood.
Two small, black figures were flying on the horizon, heading towards this place at an extremely fast speed.
Before Chu Wuyao could react, the two figures had reached this place and appeared right above the white square, floating in the air.
These two figures seemed very ordinary, with one of them being an old woman and the other one being a middle aged man, but wherever their eyes passed, the outer disciples below would immediately shut up and lower their head to show respect.
The two of them floated in the air and didn't exude any aura at all, but faintly, the space around them seemed to be distorting, as if they were a menacing black hole, ready to swallow everything.
Silence spread throughout the large square, with the disciples staring blankly at the two floating figures.
"Hehe, a bunch of ants are trying to sneak in yet again.", one of them, the old woman, spoke all of a sudden.
Her voice was hoarse and her laughter was creepy, spreading throughout the square and penetrating into everyone's ears.
Everyone was filled with doubts, but the old woman didn't explain anything.
She just stretched her right hand and as if in response, hundreds of disciples that were standing below floated in the air, heading towards the woman.
These hundreds of disciples were terrified and they opened their mouths to try and speak, but the old woman didn't give them any chance.
She glanced at them and under the outer disciple's gazes, their bodies directly exploded, forming a mist of blood that soon turned into a blood rain and fell to the ground.
Below, Chu Wuyao stared at all of this and her face became extremely solemn.
With her extraordinary senses, she could see that the old woman didn't cast any skill or ability, but just glanced at the disciples and caused them to explode.
A chill ran down her spine and she focused on using the Camouflage ability, afraid that the woman would find that something was wrong with her and make her explode.
Secretly, her fists clenched and she realized that even if she had increased her strength massively, in front of a power cultivator, her mere strength was nothing!
In front of the old woman in the air, no matter how many Qi Accumulation Realm cultivators there were, they were just ants!
Fortunately, it seemed that the old woman didn't plan to kill anyone else and just stared at the disciples in the square, as if she was evaluating them.
Surprise, excitement, disappointment, anger, etc..
Various emotions alternated in her eyes and judging from her expression, it was obvious that she didn't regard them as disciples, but as fun toys.
"Cough, cough... Elder Ru, it's time for the competition to start.", the middle aged man on the side saw this and reminded her.
The old woman, Elder Ru, reluctantly nodded her head and then spoke up.
"Everyone, I know that some of you are wondering why the outer disciples are forced to participate in the competition this time."
"To be honest, even I don't know why."
"I only know that it was the Sect Leader that personally made this decision."
Elder Ru seemed to be explaining, but her tone was careless and her expression was indifferent, and it was obvious that she didn't actually care about the disciples' opinion.
"I also know that there are some outer disciples that are currently hiding in the sect, trying escape."
"It seems that some people have forgotten that as disciples of the sect, you ought to follow orders!", Elder Ru's tone became harsh, but she quickly chuckled happily.
"Of course, all these people should be ready to receive their punishment."
"Hahahahaha!", Elder Ru laughed crazily and even though she didn't say what the punishment would be, it was clear that it wouldn't be anything good.
Elder Ru laughed alone for some time, and only after some time had passed did she recover and continued speaking as if nothing had happened.
"This time, the sect competition is going to be held in the Warring Beasts Forest."
"Each disciple is going to receive a special token before entering."
"Once the competition starts, the disciples will be required to kill monsters and collect points."
"The stronger the monsters they kill, the more points they will receive."
"The more points each disciple has in the end, the higher their final ranking will be."
"Of course, the sect does not care whether the disciples killed the monsters on their own or they stole the tokens of other disciples."
Saying this, a cruel, sarcastic look appeared on Elder Ru's face and her eyes contained a hint of enthusiasm.
"I have to remind you that this time, the sect is not going to care whether you kill the other disciples or not!"
"As long as you get the token, its yours!"
Her words caused the atmosphere to turn cold.
The disciples below knew that during the previous competitions, there were no such strange rules.
Even though the sect didn't care about the injuries and casualties of the outer disciples, they would still not make such rules that were obviously urging them to kill each other.
This time, the sect was clearly telling them that the best option was to kill each other!
Most disciples became worried, especially the weaker ones, who would not be able to protect themselves.
Finally, one male disciple at the 3rd Level of Qi Accumulation could no longer hold back and stepped forward, trying to argue.
"Elder Ru, isn't this rule too excessive? One has to know that not all disciples have been practicing for the same tim- Boom!"
Before the disciple could finish his words, his whole body exploded, turning into blood and falling on the disciples around him, drenching them in blood and all kind of strange liquids.
Even so, these disciples didn't dare to speak up and lowered their heads respectfully, as if they didn't mind.
After all, even though there were many stupid people in the world, most people were actually average in intelligence.
They had already seen the consequences of speaking rashly and these disciples didn't want to find out how it feels to explode.
"Does anyone have anything else to say?", Elder Ru asked and her eyes became red, filled with a strange sense of anticipation.
Unfortunately, to her disappointment, no one spoke up.
Speechless, Elder Ru could only turn her head and nod to the middle aged man next to her.
The man didn't say anything, but his aura fluctuated wildly.
The next second, a huge, 50-meter in height figure appeared right behind him.
Even though the figure looked similar to him, it was slightly blurry and its appearance was not very clear.
The space around the figure cracked, revealing the absolute darkness behind the space cracks, but the man ignored it.
With a move of his mind, the hand of the figure extended towards the square below and at the same time, it quickly became larger.
10 meters, 20 meters, 100 meters, 500 meters.
In a blink of an eye, the palm of the figure became huge, covering up the entire square and picking up the disciples in it as if they were ants.
Then, the arm of the giant figure moved, until it reached a forest that was densely packed with trees.
Then, it flipped its palm and dropped the disciples down.
It was as if there was a shower of comets, with countless tiny figures falling to the ground, spread throughout the forest.
After doing this, the giant figure behind the middle aged man disappeared, as if it was just an illusion.
Only the middle aged man and the old woman remained in the white square, who started talking with each other.
"This time, the disciples are indeed more interesting than last time.", Elder Ru said indifferently, and the crazy look she previously had had completely disappeared from her face.
Her eyes were empty, as if everything before was merely an act.
But even the middle aged man, who was also an elder, didn't know if everything was true or not.
"I don't know why the Sect Leader decided to start caring about the competition of the outer disciples.", the middle aged man shook his head and said.
"Who knows? Maybe they just want to have some fun.", Elder Ru responded and it was obvious that she didn't value the outer disciples much.
She was about to continue, when the space in front of the two elders cracked, forming a pitch black door that opened slowly.
Soon, a figure stepped out of the black door and appeared in front of the two of them.
The figure was blurry and their face was hidden behind the sunlight, which was forming a thin veil, as if it wanted to hide the figure's face.
White clouds surrounded the figure, while countless birds were flying around them, celebrating their arrival.
Just by standing there, the figure seemed to become the center of the whole world, as if even the world itself was affected by their charm and rushed forward to protect them.
"Sect Leader!", the two elders shouted respectfully and cupped their hands, saluting the figure.
The figure only glanced at them faintly and nodded their head, and then, they looked towards the Warring Beasts Forest.
Their gaze passed through the buildings, the trees, the land and accurately landed on each of the outer disciples, scanning them and investigating everything about them.
"Sealed cultivation, Dao Weapon, Body Possession, Reincarnation, Immortal Technique, Extraterrestrial Demon..."
"Hmm? Devil Bloodline? Interesting..."
"Is this the counterattack of the world?", the figure whispered, seemingly speaking to no one.
Even though the two elders were at the Supernatural Realm and stood right next to the figure, they were unable to hear their words, as if they were standing at an entirely different dimension.
Perhaps, the difference in strength between them and this figure was as big as the difference between them and the disciples these elders had so much disdain for.
What do you think?
