Seven Deadly Sins System

Chapter 62 Fishing

While this was going on, at the top of a huge forest that was densely packed with massive plants, thousands of "comets" were falling downwards at a rapid speed.

These "comets" were very small and if one were to judge by their size, they should have long been been destroyed by the friction caused by this world's gravity.

However, surprisingly, these "comets" seemed to be protected by a higher-level power and no matter how high their speed became, they suffered no damage at all.

"Boom!"

Before long, these thousands of "comets" landed on the ground at the very same exact time, producing a loud noise that spread throughout the forest, the Outer Area and even the Inner Area.

If it were not for the fact that the Core Area was at the top of the Original Mountain and was protected by powerful formations, the noise might have reached the Core Disciple's ears.

The landing place of those "comets" varied, with some of them falling to the ground, some of them falling at the top of massive trees and some of them falling into a monster's den.

"Splash!"

One of these "comets" seemed to be very unlucky, landing at the location where a large river passed by and falling straight into the water.

Its fall caused the long river to riot and huge waves rose up.

A few seconds passed and just when the river was about to calm down, the surface of the water shook, revealing the "comet" that had fallen into the river.

The so called "comet" was a beautiful woman, with long white hair and gray eyes, wearing a short black dress that had been drenched in water and clung tightly to her figure.

When the woman lowered her head and looked at her drenched appearance, her eyes became slightly cold, with a trace of anger..

"Fuck!", Chu Wuyao couldn't help but curse out loud.

If it were not for the fact that she was afraid that the elders would still be staring at her, she would have cursed the middle aged man's whole family for dropping her in such a place.

Expressionless, she jumped out of the water and landed on the ground and the next second, a black flame appeared around her, floating around her body and trying to dry the water off.

Soon, the water that remained on the surface of her skin, as well as the water that her dress was soaked in dried off, with Chu Wuyao returning back to her usual appearance.

It was only now that she had some time to observe the place around her and immediately, she noticed a very familiar atmosphere.

Coupled with the fresh, earthy smell that reached her nose and the loud, excited sound of the birds' singing, Chu Wuyao knew in an instant where she was, the Warring Beasts Forest.

Recalling the elders' previous words and the rules of the sect competition, Chu Wuyao searched her body, trying to find something.

Soon, her hand reached into one of her pockets and she took out a silver token out.

The token was square in shape, made out of the same material that was also used for the sect token, and on its surface, there were two numbers written.

One of those numbers was written at the very center in bold black letters, while the other one was written at the bottom and was a little hard to make out.

These numbers were "0" and "9925" respectively.

"The one at the center should be my points, while the one at the bottom should be my total ranking.", Chu Wuyao looked at the silver token in her palm and thought silently.

She knew that during the past competitions, the top ten outer disciples in the final ranking would be rewarded, with the first place receiving the highest prize.

Obviously, something similar would also happen in this competition.

Combing through her memories, she tried to remember just how long the competition would last, but she quickly found that the elders never mentioned anything about the deadline.

She couldn't know if they just forgot to mention it or if they, themselves, didn't actually know.

Shaking her head and throwing those thoughts aside, Chu Wuyao unconsciously raised her eyes and stared at an object that every disciple that was in the forest should have noticed by now.

It was a white, transparent wall, that seemingly surrounded the whole Warring Beasts Forest, like a huge cage.

Just by looking at it, Chu Wuyao could understand that this should be a barrier left by the sect, created in order to prevent the outer disciples from leaving.

Chu Wuyao couldn't possibly know who created and what their strength was, but quite obviously, it was not something that a disciple at the Qi Accumulation Realm could hope to break.

"It seems that this time, the competition is entirely different.", she thought and tried to analyze the information she possessed, hoping to find out what was wrong.

Unfortunately, sometimes, you can't understand everything just because of your high intelligence.

Without sufficient information, no matter how much one thinks, they'll never be able to find out the whole truth.

And this was the current situation that Chu Wuyao found herself in.

"Let's try and survive for the time being.", she made a quick decision and stopped thinking about it.

In fact, Chu Wuyao wasn't very worried about her safety.

With her current strength, there were only a few people among the outer disciples who could pose a threat to her, and if she were to use the Blood Flag, even those would not be able to threaten her.

Thinking of this, Chu Wuyao didn't rush to kill any monsters.

While most outer disciples had already started hunting monsters or trying to find other disciples to steal from, Chu Wuyao sat carelessly on the ground right next to the river and waved her hand.

A black flame instantly appeared in her right palm and it quickly moved on its own, turning into a black stick with a thin thread on its other end.

Chu Wuyao moved her arm and the stick seemed to follow her movements, with the thread falling right into the river.

"In my previous life, I read that many protagonists liked to relax from time to time, trying to understand their true nature."

"Once they did, they would fall into enlightenment and their strength would massively increase."

"If other people can do it, I can do it too!", Chu Wuyao thought secretly and her hand held the self-created fishing rod, waiting for a fish to bite.

A few minutes passed and she was starting to get bored.

In order to distract herself, Chu Wuyao brought up the long-lost system panel, as well as the latest system prompt.

[You killed an evil cultivator at the 9th Level of Qi Accumulation. Sin Points +640]

[Sin Points: 50]

While she was going through her information, Chu Wuyao's finger stroked the black ring on her finger and the next moment, a glass bottle appeared in her left palm.

Opening it, her hand reached inside and took out a white pill, before throwing it to her mouth.

Her movements were quite fast and seemed to have been practiced countless times.

Feeling the warm current that spread around her body, Chu Wuyao instinctively used the Original Desire Sutra, digesting the Qi Pill's effect and trying to increase her cultivation.

"Phew...", finally, after a few minutes had passed, she opened her mouth and exhaled a white mist that flew everywhere around her.

Chu Wuyao ignored it and her eyes landed on the system panel, staring at the [Cultivation] column that had increased by 8.

"The more Qi Pills I consume, the less effective they become.", she muttered, recalling that the first time she took a Qi Pill, her cultivation increased by 10.

Chu Wuyao had long discovered that unlike what's stated in the novels, cultivators in this world could consume as many as pills they want, without any side-effect.

It's just that as they consumed pills, cultivator's bodies will gradually develop some resistance, lowering the pills' effect.

"If things continue to go on like this, these Qi Pills will not be enough to support my breakthrough to the 8th Level of Qi Accumulation.", Chu Wuyao judged.

She already had 5 bottles of Qi Pills that were left from Li Zhengyu's belongings and with the selfless donation of the white-haired young man, she now had a total of 8 Qi Pill bottles.

With each bottle containing around 10 or so Qi Pills, she had about 80 pills in her possession.

With a quick calculation, Chu Wuyao understood that these were probably not enough to allow her to breakthrough.

Despite this, Chu Wuyao didn't show any abnormal reaction.

After all, these Qi Pills were not what she was relying on and were just an extra, the cherry on top.

"Anyway, there will always be some bad people that are trying to harm my innocent self."

"I'm sure that they will be willing to sacrifice their lives in order to increase my strength.", she murmured in a low voice and her right hand continued holding the fishing rod, waiting for the fish to take the bait.
