Chapter 1436 1436: New seal
When I was still looking at the handkerchief, there was someone that came up behind me that surprised me.
The saintess poked her head over my shoulder to look closely at the handkerchief, but the thing was…
It didn't seem like she cared about how her body was positioned.
Because she was coming from behind me, she was actually pressing herself up against me as she looked over my shoulder. With her pressing against me like this, I could feel the curves that her body had.
Her figure wasn't big or small, but it certainly was enough to give off a pleasant sensation.
I had to give a gulp when I felt this on my back…
But I eventually turned around and handed the Relic of Destruction over to her.
It wasn't as if I wanted to hold it any longer since I didn't enjoy the feeling that came from it.
The saintess looked like she wanted to reject, but I stopped her before she could as I tossed the Relic of Destruction over to her. Even if she didn't want to take it, it wasn't as if it was an option when it was thrown at her like this.
So the only thing that the saintess could do was catch the Relic of Destruction and hold it carefully.
Though the saintess also created a barrier of holy energy around the Relic of Destruction after catching it. It seemed that she didn't want to leave anything to chance with how cautious she was being.
However, it wasn't as if this barrier of holy magic would even be enough to stop the destruction energy if the Relic of Destruction did activate. This was a relic of the God of Destruction, so one could already imagine just what kind of power was contained inside of this relic.
It definitely wouldn't be something that simple holy magic would work against.
Still, it didn't matter since this relic was inert.
At least it didn't seem like anything was going to happen with this relic.
But after the saintess looked at the Relic of Destruction for a bit, she suddenly said, "This is strange."
I immediately turned around and looked at the Relic of Destruction as I asked, "What is strange?"
I couldn't help complaining internally when I saw that the saintess wasn't saying anything after this.
You can't just say that it's 'strange' and not give any explanation…
But it seemed like the saintess was deep in thought as she looked closely at the Relic of Destruction. It even seemed like she was seeing something special about this Relic of Destruction with the way that she acted.
So in the end, I just waited to see what she had to say.
After a long silence, the saintess looked up and said, "There's another seal on this."
A strange look appeared on my face after she said this.
Then after another silence, I asked, "What do you mean by another seal?"
The saintess looked up at me with a straight look as she said, "It is as I said, there's another seal that was placed on this Relic of Destruction and it's much newer than the one that was on the Relic of Destruction previously."
There was this strange look that appeared on the face of the saintess along with a trace of hesitation. It seemed like she was afraid to say what she was about to say next.
But in the end, she said it when I glared at her.
"It seems like this seal has only been put on this Relic of Destruction in the past few months…"
The way that she looked at me as she said this, it was clear that there was something that she was implying with these words.
But I didn't say anything.
I could already guess what she was implying with this, but I didn't say anything in response.
After all, it would reveal a bit more than I was willing to reveal.
So in the end, I just gave a simple nod and said, "Alright, hold that for me for now. We'll bring it back to the Holy Empire and then seal it off."
The saintess looked like there was something else that she wanted to say, but she held herself back in the end and just nodded in agreement.
Like this, we put the Relic of Destruction away and started heading to the surface.
But when we came out of the room, the other holy knights and priests came over to look at the Relic of Destruction. With the way that they surrounded the saintess and gathered their holy energy, it seemed like they were all planning on working together to suppress the Relic of Destruction…even though it didn't seem like there was a need.
While they were doing this, I couldn't help thinking about something…
"So the seal that Solista sacrificed a portion of herself to create wasn't just for a single Relic of Destruction, it also sealed off the other Relics of Destruction. Then does that mean that the God of Destruction won't be able to play any tricks during this time?"
The more that I thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
And the more likely that it seemed, the more it felt like I should move as soon as possible to recover the Relics of Destruction…
If time wasn't on our side, then we should get these Relics of Destruction in a safe place at the very least.
Only we didn't know where the last two were either…
Well for now, we had two of them gathered and it seemed unlikely that anyone would be able to get them. After all, the place that they were being sealed was the place where the power of the gods was most concentrated in this world.
If anyone wanted to steal these Relics of Destruction, it would be equal to declaring war on the gods.
As for that…it wasn't easy to declare war on the gods.
There was a reason why they were gods in the first place.
What do you think?
