“You three… what are you sneaking around here for?”
Veronica rose from the table, her pale silver eyes sweeping over the three of them before finally settling on Leon.
The matter of Leon’s human identity had been revealed long ago, when Isha had laid out the cards. In truth, both she and Grandmother had already suspected as much, though they had never explicitly pointed it out.@@novelbin@@
And now, this meeting with Grandmother Veronica was also a moment of reckoning for Leon’s identity.
Adding to that, the fact that the old lady was staring straight at him from the start made him inevitably nervous.
“Grandmother… I… We were just—”
Veronica slowly closed her eyes, her stern face softening as a helpless smile appeared.
She let out a quiet sigh, stepped forward, and walked toward the door of the Headmaster’s office. With her back turned to the three of them, she spoke unhurriedly.
“You’re already here, so you might as well go in and listen.”
With that, Grandmother Veronica knocked on the door of the Headmaster’s office. “It’s me, Veronica Melkvey.”
Olette, the Headmaster, promptly responded. “Coming.”
