Chapter 3378: One Hand
Skymender took a deep breath, stood up, and walked closer to the numerous humanoid sourceboxes. Yao Di, not being an Array Grandmaster, was unable to assist Skymender. So, without having received Lu Yin’s permission, Yao Di remained on his knees, not daring to move.
The Stone Reversal Formation activated.
Every sourcebox array was the result of an Array Grandmaster’s painstaking work. No sourcebox array was ever easy to create, as each represented the hard work and dedication of an Array Grandmaster.
Not even Progenitor Hui had been able to casually invent a sourcebox array.
While Lu Yin considered himself to be the strongest lockbreaker in the megaverse, he did not interfere with sourcebox arrays that he was not familiar with. Instead, he simply observed Skymender’s work.
Stone Origin and the Stone Reversal Formation both amazed Lu Yin.
The technique was somehow complementary to the sourcebox array, which was something that he had not seen even in True Insight. It was beyond remarkable.
Throughout history, there had never been a lack of geniuses, and the ones who had managed to create Stone Origin and the Stone Reversal Formation were undoubtedly geniuses.
Time slowly passed, and as the Stone Reversal Formation activated, the humanoid sourceboxes started to open, the outer shells visibly melting away.
One day, two days, five days passed. Eventually, ten days went by.The Stone Reversal Formation continued to disintegrate the outer shells of the humanoid sourceboxes, completely exposing the sealed figures to Lu Yin and the others who were observing.
“Rise!” Skymender shouted in a deep voice. The Stone Reversal Formation sent a beam upwards that turned into a blinding light that enveloped all of the figures who had been released through the lockbreaking process.
All of their eyes opened practically simultaneously. Their gazes were fierce and vicious, though also filled with confusion. Some instinctively let out strange, eerie sounds. They were the sounds of astral beasts.
“This junior, Skymender, requests the resurrection of the great Wilderness God.”
Clarity appeared in the eyes of some of the individuals in the crowd. One tore their arm open, and another their leg. Someone even twisted their neck and sent their head flying off. In mid-air, it transformed into a part of a familiar statue. The body of Wilderness God was taking form.
One by one, the broken pieces of the bodies drew together, and a faint, yet earth-shaking roar echoed across space.
All who had been released from the sourceboxes knelt. “We welcome the great Wilderness God.”
“We welcome the great Wilderness God.”
“We welcome the great Wilderness God.”
…
During the ancient Heavens Sect era, astral beasts had been suppressed and enslaved by humanity. Only Wilderness God’s presence on the Fourth Mainland had succeeded in slightly curbing the situation. 𝙧Άɴ𝙤ΒΕŞ
At that time, all the astral beasts had regarded Wilderness God as their guardian. Wilderness God alone had been capable of shielding them.
In the hearts of the astral beasts, Wilderness God had been a true god, and they had been willing to sacrifice everything for their deity. This was the devotion that had been passed down to Skymender’s generation, and then to Yao Di’s generation as well.
Even when Lu Yin had seized control of the lives of the creatures in the Astral Beast Domain, Skymender had still chosen to deceive Lu Yin in order to resurrect Wilderness God.
Even when Lu Yin had led the reestablished Heavens Sect to unprecedented heights, Skymender had never mentioned anything about Wilderness God.
This was not because Skymender hoped that Wilderness God’s return would change anything, but rather because Skymender did not want the past to be forgotten.
Before Lu Yin’s rise to power, Skymender and others involved had hoped that Wilderness God’s resurrection would lead the astral beasts to rise above humanity. However, as Lu Yin’s Heavens Sect had grown stronger and become invincible, Skymender had no longer wanted Wilderness God to appear. To them, it had become clear that Wilderness God would only be suppressed by Lu Yin.
Skymender had simply been protecting his faith.
Skymender let out a sigh as he watched Wilderness God’s body continue to reassemble. Nothing could be done to stop what was about to happen. Fortunately, Wilderness God was also one of the Origin Progenitor’s disciples, so there was no guarantee that the astral beast would become Lu Yin’s enemy.
Oh Great Wilderness God, the times have changed. In this era, humanity has once again become stronger, to a terrifying degree.
Clenching his fists, Skymender resolved himself to inform Wilderness God of the current state of affairs the moment he revived. Skymender could not allow Wilderness God to become Lu Yin’s enemy. That simply could not happen.
Lu Yin calmly observed the entire process. A powerful aura surged out. It belonged to a peak Sequence Progenitor. It belonged to Wilderness God, one of the Three Realms and Six Daos. At this moment, Ancestor Lu Yuan and the others had to be thrilled.
Nearby, Lu Yuan, Hongyan Mavis, Wu Tian, Garan Zhiluo, and the others were all watching carefully. Yellowy was coming back.
A roar rang out.
The single roar shook the heavens and earth.
Space warped as power rippled out in all directions.
An overwhelming pressure settled onto the area, growing stronger by the moment.
A familiar figure appeared.
Lu Yin finally laid eyes on Wilderness God. Lu Yin had fought against Wilderness God during his Progenitor’s tribulation, which was why he was familiar with Wilderness God’s form and strength. The sight of the true Wilderness God even granted Lu Yin a bizarre sense of familiarity.
Was this ever-increasing aura a proclamation to the current era that Wilderness God had returned?
The aura spread across the Astral Beast Domain and into the Human Domain. It spread across the entire Fifth Mainland until it finally reached the Perennial World and the parallel universes that were connected to the Fifth Mainland.
Countless people sensed Wilderness God’s aura.
Some were shaken by what they felt, while others grew confused. The aura was powerful, and it clearly belonged to someone with the strength of the Three Realms and Six Daos, which meant a supreme powerhouse. What did this aura mean?
Powerful or not, could such an unrestrained release of aura be a provocation?
No matter how powerful the individual might be, this was not an aura that could surpass the current Heavens Sect.
After all, even a Dukkhan would not have the courage to act recklessly in the Origin Universe.
In the Astral Beast Domain, Wilderness God’s body fully formed, and he slowly opened his eyes. He saw the crowd of astral beasts below him, formed from the creatures who had been released from the humanoid sourceboxes. Wilderness God then looked ahead, where he saw Skymender, who seemed eager to speak.
Skymender looked at Wilderness God excitedly. “Great one, right now, this-”
“Outrageous! Why is a Celestial Demon bowing to a human?” Wilderness God roared, his voice nearly knocking Skymender unconscious.
In front of Lu Yin, Yao Di was badly startled. He was indeed still kneeling, but that was not really the most important matter. “Great Wilderness God, we…”
Wilderness God glared at Lu Yin. “Human who has enslaved my kin, who gave you such courage?”
With that, an overwhelming power dropped, intent on crushing Lu Yin.
Yao Di and Skymender were both frozen like statues. They could only watch in stunned silence as Wilderness God attacked Lu Yin.
Down below, all who had been released with the Stone Reversal Formation stared at Lu Yin with resentment and hatred. This human must have tried to prevent Wilderness God’s resurrection but had failed. The great Wilderness God had returned, and he was destined to be invincible throughout the universe. Even in the era that they had all lived in, Wilderness God had been one of the Three Realms and Six Daos, achieving a glory that could never be replicated.
None of the astral beasts knew how long they had waited to be unsealed, but they had no doubts that the great Wilderness God would become the ruler of the current era.
Still hidden in the shadows, Wu Tian sighed. “Yellowy has only just returned, and while it may seem like his power has returned, it hasn’t completely yet. He hasn’t noticed us, or even sensed Little Seven’s strength.”
“The sight of Yao Di kneeling to Little Seven infuriated him. He is too prejudiced against humans.”
“We really can’t blame him. In the past, there wasn’t a single astral beast who didn’t hate humans. Still, there is a cause for every effect. Humanity had their reasons for subduing the astral beasts.”
“Are we just going to allow him to attack Little Seven?”
“What else can we do? He’ll just have to take this beating. Don’t worry, Little Seven knows his limits.”
“Master must also be watching right now.”
Some distance away, Lu Yin endured the immense pressure from Wilderness God without moving an inch.
The astral beast’s eyes flashed as he realized that something was wrong. This human did not seem to be affected by his pressure at all, but how was that possible? Even during the glorious era of the Heavens Sect, only the Three Realms and Six Daos had been capable of that.
But that era was long gone. After all, Aeternus had destroyed the Heavens Sect, right?
Wilderness God wanted to understand the person before him, but the sight of Yao Di still on his knees ignited an unquenchable rage. Wilderness God charged at Lu Yin with his indestructible body.
Wilderness God possessed two incredible advantages: an indestructible body, and an undefeatable weapon. Additionally, his physical strength was terrifying.
If Hongyan Mavis had been the physically strongest human during the Origin Universe’s Heavens Sect era, surpassing even Lu Yuan, then Wilderness God had been the physically strongest astral beast.
Hongyan Mavis had challenged the astral beast to contests of physical strength on multiple occasions, but he had always refused.
He had no interest in competing with Hongyan Mavis. If the Pridebeast had offered a challenge, it was possible that Wilderness God might have considered it.
The formidable body crashed toward Lu Yin.
All of the unsealed creatures were thrilled by the sight, and they eagerly awaited seeing Lu Yin torn apart.
Lu Yin looked up as he raised his right hand. A single hand stopped the attack.
Boom!
The universe trembled as power tore through the void. Darkness appeared as spatial tears spread out, exposing the Hollow.
Yao Di and Skymender were both pushed back by the shockwaves from the impact, though they were uninjured. Wilderness God had redirected the force from the impact away from the two. If not, they would have both been torn apart.
The sound of a roar accompanied the shattering void, and everything seemed to grow blurry in their vision.
Wilderness God alone was able to see clearly, but his expression was frozen in disbelief.
The human had blocked him with just one hand. How… was that possible?
Lu Yin held Wilderness God in place with a single hand. “Your indestructible body is quite impressive. The fact that you were able to revive even after being torn apart is the essence of true indestructibility. Still, your strength needs a bit of work. You don’t actually measure up to the Pridebeast.”
Wilderness God was stunned. How was this possible? A mere human had blocked him with one hand, not even breaking a sweat.
“Human, who are you?” Wilderness God’s deep voice echoed among the stars.
A smile touched Lu Yin’s lips. “The Dao Monarch of the Heavens Sect, Lu Yin.”
Wilderness God’s eyes flared. “Insolent!”
His body transformed into a muscular, brutish manas a long halberd appeared in his hands. This was his undefeatable weapon, the Boundless Halberd. Its shaft was formed from the power of space, while its blade was formed from the power of time. As the halberd shot forward, space froze, making escape impossible.
Time flowed like a ribbon, held in place by the halberd.
As the halberd drew closer, Lu Yin moved at the speed of time with Inverse Step. The halberd shifted in front of him, creating ripples in time. There were even sequence particles at work, and the power of the attack briefly shook Lu Yin.
What a domineering law of the universe.
Wilderness God had comprehended the Law of Destruction. All things in existence had to be counterbalanced, yet Wilderness God wielded the Law of Destruction. He was able to annihilate anything and everything. His law was one of absolute devastation.
In the ancient era, Wilderness God had been exceptionally powerful, and he had possessed the confidence to challenge any of the rest of Three Realms and Six Daos.
However, he had been defeated by the God of Death.
The God of Death had slaughtered countless astral beasts, leaving behind a primal fear of him in their very bloodlines that was passed down across the generations.@@novelbin@@
Even the destruction of the Fourth Mainland might have been a part of that legacy.
Lu Yin released his inner universe, and the sequence particles were repelled, instantly vanishing.
Wilderness God was badly startled. “An Ortuser?”
Lu Yin grabbed the Boundless Halberd. Even the undefeatable weapon that could freeze time and lock down space was not able to evade his grip. Lu Yin’s control of the powers of space and time had surpassed Wilderness God’s own mastery.
The Boundless Halberd could not move at all. Wilderness God released his weapon and threw a punch instead.
Lu Yin spun the Boundless Halberd around, the blade sweeping out even faster than before, and sent Wilderness God flying.
Wilderness God was incapable of withstanding Lu Yin’s strength, and he was flung a considerable distance away. He stabilized himself in outer space, breathing heavily. He stared at Lu Yin in shock.
