STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 231: Governor Elton's discovery and lies!

Wilderness:

The Tier-5 Worm Beast is moving fast underground. As it returns, following the same route, it doesn't have any obstructions.

Even Oldman Elton is somewhat surprised, watching the speed of the worm beast. Moreover, he figures out that the worm beast is leading him to a completely new location.

They are moving in the inner part of the wilderness, but he is sure they haven't been to this part of the wilderness before. This area was reported to be barren, and beast sightings were not noted.

Because of that, he and the other two City Governors ignored this area. Now, he is starting to regret it. If there is danger hidden in this unexplored area, then the consequences could be severe.

He feels fortunate that he has made the decision to deal with this worm beast. If it were others, there would surely be some casualties.

Soon, the worm beast returns to its territory. It doesn't stop there; it starts to warn other worm beasts inhabiting the land, including the existence of the Tier-6 worm beast.

The Tier-6 Worm Beast, in its natural terrain, can fight against a Tier-7 Beast Tamer.

Oldman Elton, who is standing on the giant bird, is observing the ground. He is sure this part of the land is unexplored.

It is the first time he has seen a worm beast coming from this place. He doesn't know what made the beast approach the city, but he chooses to eliminate the threat.

He then gives a command to the lifeline beast.

Chirp!

The Giant Bird makes a cry before communicating with him. He learns that there are multiple threats hidden underground.

From his lifeline beast, Oldman Elton receives the message that there are multiple Tier-6 Worm Beasts living here. His expression changes drastically.

Now he has to think twice before making a decision. The Tier-6 Beasts are intelligent; they must be aware of the existence of the nearby city.

If he goes on to kill one of them, there is a possibility that the worm beast army will attack City A. After considering the situation, he decides not to attack.

He is reluctant, but this is the conclusion he reaches. Since he has scared the beast away, he can do it again.

Elton glances at the worm beast territory before commanding the lifeline beast.

Chirp!

The Giant Bird turns around to leave. Until the giant bird leaves the place, there is no movement on the ground. But when they are gone—

Boom!

The land splits open in multiple areas. The next second, the bodies of worm beasts of different sizes emerge. The body of a Tier-5 worm beast is among them.

It remains unscathed and makes the attacker flee.

If Jeremy Night were here, he would be shocked to the core. His reasoning was correct; this area is worm beast territory.

Several minutes later,

The Giant Bird returns to the city. Elton lies to everyone, saying he has killed the Tier-5 worm beast, and no one suspects him.

Elton does this for a reason. He doesn't want to cause panic among the people. Most of the residents have yet to recover from the shock of the beast invasion.

If they found out such danger was lurking in the corner, people would start to leave the city. That's even more dangerous.

After his announcement, the people believe him and begin cheering loudly. The City Guard Captain and others relax as well.

Even the major beast taming organizations that were ready to support have stopped doing so. This is good news for everyone.

The City Governors have been receiving hatred lately. Now this situation is going to be face-saving for them. It doesn't take long for activities to return to normal.

People resume going in and out of the city. The broadcasters share the good news online. Because of this, the panic and fear among the public disappear.

Not everyone is happy about the outcome. Rick, a shareholder of Goldcorp, starts smashing furniture after hearing the news.

He had thought there was a good opportunity for him to strike back when he heard about the Tier-5 Worm Beast.

But he didn't expect City Governor Elton to step out personally to deal with the Tier-5 Worm Beast. If the Tier-5 worm beast had infiltrated the city, he knew for sure that it would be the last working day for the three City Governors.

Now, Elton has turned the tide. There is goodwill among the people. Rick is annoyed by it.

...

Central University 14:

Dorm room,

"He killed it," Jeremy uttered in surprise.

There is no reason for him to doubt City Governor Elton's statement. He is a Tier-7 Beast Tamer, so he can easily kill a Tier-5 Worm Beast.

Since he had dealt with the worm beast, he hopes that people won't investigate the reason for its appearance.

Even if someone decides to find out the reason, there would be no result because he is the only one who knows the reason.

He had unknowingly attracted the attention of the curious Tier-5 worm beast, which had followed him all the way back to the city gate.

Jeremy then collects his thoughts before lying in bed.

The following day,

Jeremy leaves the dormitory after getting ready. He then starts walking toward the department building. He can't forget yesterday's events.

It was thrilling, but he won't dare to take similar chances next time. Just as he is walking toward the department building, he finds a group of people standing in the path.

Jeremy's eyes flicker. He sees 2nd-year student Billy among them.

"Looks like the coming days won't be peaceful," Jeremy thinks.

During his free time, he had gathered some information about this senior. He is shocked to learn that this guy's parents are employees of the Goldcorp Organization.

Already, he has forged enmity with this organization. Now, he has one more reason to hate them. But he doesn't know about Billy's parents' strength.

If they are not high-tier beast tamers, then he could solve this problem by using Dean Carolyn's help.
