STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

City Governor Elton felt he was wasting time. He had been searching for a few minutes, yet he didn't find any Tier-5 or above Corrupted Beasts.

"Maybe I should land on the ground," Elton said to himself. He had been circling in the sky, but he could not see a single high-tier beast.

He was not stupid. Since he could not spot from the sky, there was a possibility that beasts were hiding from him.

Cry!

He told his lifeline beast to land. The huge bird let out a cry before diving down.

Swoosh!

The massive bird touched down on the ground. It brought a fierce wind with it, hitting the towering trees and vegetation hard. They were swept away.

Unknowingly, both of them were inside the area of Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts. There were no Tier-4, Tier-3, or other lower beasts near this area.

He had gotten into the deeper area of the wilderness. The huge bird once again flapped its wings for a moment before sending out a gust of wind.

Boom!

The nearby area was cleared. City Governor Elton then landed on the ground. Now he could check whether the high-tier beasts were actually here or not.

On the other hand, the 10 Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts were cowering in fear. These beasts had their bodies half-submerged underground, with their heads and tails visible.

The 3 Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts didn't order them to attack. Otherwise, Elton would have known long ago while he was using perception to scan the place.

The mastermind, a Tier-7 Thorny worm, sensed the enemies. It spotted the threat from the human and his lifeline beast.

It felt the presence of the human as an intrusion in its backyard. The huge body was moving underground toward the City Governor.

It moved in such a way that not a blade of grass growing on the surface was disturbed. Sensing the Tier-7 Corrupted Beast coming, the other three Tier-6 Beasts were alerted.

They knew their leader was going to attack the enemy, so they started moving underground toward the enemies.

"Hmmm, there are no beasts here in my sight," Elton said to himself.

The giant bird beside him was standing calmly.

Cry!

It let out a loud cry, starting to flap its wings and creating huge, tyrannical winds. These winds swept away the remaining nearby trees and vegetation, shredding them to pieces.

Elton was startled by his lifeline beast's sudden outburst.

Then he realized the enemy was nearing them. He had decades of experience in fighting against the Corrupted Beasts.

He knew what it meant if his lifeline beast was showing a reaction. Moreover, he also confirmed the enemy's presence by communicating with the lifeline beast.

Elton was ready to strike. He was looking all around, but never once did he think that the enemy could come from underground.

Boom!

The Thorny worm erupted to the surface where Elton and the giant bird were standing.

Smash!

The sudden ambush followed by the impact force hit them both hard. The huge bird rolled backward before crashing a few hundred meters away.

At the same time, Elton was sent flying because of the impact force. His body struck a boulder a couple of hundred meters away.

The impact force was not random; it was one of the abilities of the Tier-7 Corrupted Thorny Worm.

Seeing that both enemies were down, the Thorny Worm ordered the Tier-6 Worm Beasts to release Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts to attack.

It then moved back underground and left the scene. The 3 Tier-6 Worm Beasts then commanded the Tier-4 Beasts to launch an attack.

The Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts were smarter than Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts. They were overlords of their own small territory. For this invasion, they had all gathered here.

Swoosh!

After receiving the order, the Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts moved toward the front line. But they did not rush like Tier-3 and other lower beasts.

Their eyes flashed with a little intellect and savageness. They were not going to blindly sacrifice their lives.

Pfff!

Elton coughed up blood. His mental zone was hurt, and his body had sustained skin injuries. But one thing he was able to confirm.

"It's a Tier-7 Worm. No wonder I wasn't able to spot it," Elton said in fear.

A single Tier-7 Beast can fight against a Beast Tamer and the lifeline beast at the same time. The Corrupted Beasts have strong bodies. The Tier-7 Beasts are even stronger.

Cry!

A loud bird cry jolted him awake. His lifeline beast came to pick him up. He saw that one of its wings was bleeding; it couldn't fly for long.

Seeing that, Elton decided to leave.

Jeremy Night finished killing another group of Tier-3 and Tier-2 Beasts, which caused consumption of Starlight energy.

He saw that Ken and Rin were totally exhausted. They were managing to hold on because of him and Senior Norton.

Jeremy also noticed that there were many casualties. As he had guessed, some had fallen under the attack of Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts.

They could stop Tier-2 Beasts, but Tier-3 was different. Unless you were Tier-2 or above, it was difficult to save your life.

"I'm going to bring my lifeline beast out," Ken said.

"Okay," Jeremy replied.

From their current condition, it was difficult to stop another wave of corrupted beasts' attack.

Growl!

A 6ft Red-Eyed Monkey appeared beside Ken. The monkey lifeline beast fought using its fists as well.

Jeremy's eyes flashed with surprise. The monkey lifeline beast appeared human-like, with a muscular body and tall physique.

If not for its tail and hairy body, everyone would have mistaken it for a human.

"It's alright; you guys can fight using your lifeline beasts. I'm going to take out mine as well," Norton said.

Moo!

A brown bull appeared beside him. It was huge, with two long sharp horns. Its movements caused the ground to shake.

Jeremy was stunned. This was the first time he had seen such a huge bull. He suspected it was an elemental lifeline beast as well.
