STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Jeremy then shifted his attention back to the front. There were more beasts coming towards them. They had only a couple of minutes of peace.

Unless they completely defeated the wave, they wouldn't be able to get enough rest. Jeremy gripped his katana and readied himself to face the next wave.

Alarm!

All of a sudden, the warning alarm sounded again. It immediately caused panic and commotion.

Every time the alarm sounded, it meant a new wave of beasts was coming.

Earlier, it was Tier-2 and Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts. Jeremy had a bad premonition in his heart. He didn't know whether the new wave would be any dangerous.

He pushed down these thoughts and focused on the beasts charging towards him. He gently circulated the starlight energy. The katana blade filled with starlight again.

Boom!

Red Eyes Monkey smashed the Tier-2 Beast on its face. On the other hand, the Bull was one tier higher than the monkey. The bull instantly killed the Tier-2 Beast using its horns.

The two lifeline beasts reduced pressure on Ken and Senior Norton.

Roar!

A massive Tier-3 beast over 15 ft tall approached Jeremy. At first, the beast didn't seem big. But now it appeared huge up close.

Cut!

Jeremy drew the sword. He took a few steps forward before stabbing the massive four-legged Corrupted beast in different parts.@@novelbin@@

Pfff!

In the blink of an eye, the huge beast's legs were severed. When the beast lowered its head, Jeremy brought down the katana to sever its head.

Pfff!

Blood poured out in large quantities as the severed head rolled over the ground. This all happened within seconds.

The starlight energy covering the blade had dimmed.

Argh!

Jeremy heard Rin's cry the next second. He saw a Tier-3 Lizard Beast manage to walk past Norton and strike Rin's body.

She was sent flying before crashing into the other teams.

Swoosh!

Jeremy moved towards the Lizard. The Lizard Beast immediately turned towards him. His eyes were on its powerful tail.

Boom!

Then the Lizard sprinted forward using its hind legs. The massive power generated by its hind legs pushed it forward.

Jeremy was stunned. He immediately used his katana to block.

Boom!

Upon contact, he was pushed backward. It took him a couple of seconds to stabilize himself.

Jeremy felt pain in his shoulders and legs. He could use starlight energy to kill the Tier-3 Beast. But in reality, he was a Tier-1 Beast Tamer.

He then used the starlight energy again. The katana blade was covered with starlight energy once more. This time he sprinted towards the Lizard.

When he got closer, he leaped forward before bringing down the katana to stab the Lizard's head.

Pfff!

The star-filled blade went inside the head, destroying the skull and brain within.

"Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts!"

Just as he felt relaxed, he heard the screams of others.

"Tier-4," Jeremy's pupils shrank.

He jumped up and returned to his position, looking at the wilderness again. He saw how the remaining Tier-3 Beasts were alarmed.

"It's over, what are we going to do?" Ken asked.

The Red Eyes Monkey standing beside him was trembling. Not only him; Norton was nervous as well.

Moo!

The brown Bull made a sound. It was cowering in fear as well.

Rin had been taken back to the infirmary a while ago, so she didn't have to face the incoming Tier-4 Beast.

Jeremy checked his mental zone. The starlight energy in it had depleted a lot. It might help him fight against one or two, but he didn't know how long it would last.

"Don't worry, Captain Mirza will take action," Norton's voice sounded in his ears.

Hearing that, Jeremy looked at him. He saw Norton pointing to the sky above them.

He followed his gaze and saw Captain Mirza standing with others. They were hovering in mid-air.

City A:

Cry!

Elton returned to City A while standing on his lifeline beast. His expression was grave. He was not only injured; his lifeline beast was hurt as well.

Yet his investigation in the wilderness yielded no positive outcomes. He was attacked by a Tier-7 Thorny Worm Beast. He didn't know whether it was the only one, or if other worm beasts were hiding nearby.

On the other hand, the two City Governors spotted him. They exchanged smiles, but when they saw Elton up close, they noticed something was wrong.

"He is injured," the tall City Governor said.

The other shorter one wore a grave expression as well.

"Well, let's ask him," the short one said.

Elton jumped off from the bird's back and stood in mid-air. He then called back his lifeline beast to the mental zone.

Even with injuries on his body, he wanted to remind the other two City Governors.

"Elton, what happened?" the tall one asked.

"I was attacked by a Tier-7 Thorny Worm. I don't know whether there are others," Elton replied.

Hearing that, the expressions of the other two turned ugly.

"If it's Tier-7, we have to kill it," the tall City Governor said.

"Let's go to the wilderness; people are already dying. You don't want to go back while the young ones are losing their lives," the shorter City Governor said.

Elton's expression worsened. He was injured, but he couldn't use any excuse. This is war. They had to protect City A and the people.

"Come on, take the medicine and come with us." After saying that, the short City Governor tossed a liquid bottle to Elton.

Elton reluctantly accepted it and drank it.

After making a few things clear, they gave orders to commanders to stop the casualties from increasing. They could go and assist the Beast Tamers in killing the Tier-4 Beasts.

Swoosh!

Then the three City Governors started moving in mid-air towards the wilderness. Since it was a Tier-7 worm beast, they had decided to cooperate.

As long as they attacked the beast from the sky, they wouldn't feel threatened.

But their defensive mindset was going to cost many lives. It would put pressure on front-line Beast Tamers and commanders.

There were still 10 Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts and 3 Tier-6 Beasts yet to take any action.

The City Governors themselves knew that if they delayed any longer, the lower-tier Beast Tamers would die in greater numbers.
