Strongest Demigod System

Chapter 100 100: Group Meeting

"Alright then, that's enough for today. End exercise."

Scar's voice rang through the training room and the simulation AI responded.

[Exercise terminated.]

The students all fell to their asses tiredly as they took in deep breaths.

This time, there were more than three students left in each of the test areas, and Azrael looked up at the other three boys who were still in the room with him to see them glaring at him heatedly.

They were obviously not happy that Azrael lasted this long.

Azrael just scoffed.

He didn't have time to bother with fodder.

There was water outside the room, and the students went and started to grab some while listening to Scar.

"You all did well today, so you'll be getting the afternoon off. But remember that you are expected here by 4 a.m. tomorrow morning for the biweekly training exercise. Lateness will not be tolerated."

The students murmured amongst themselves at the early schedule, and Scar continued.

"Don't think I don't know all about the party most of you will attend today. I have half a mind to ban you from going, but the school decided that your non-academic activities are not under our jurisdiction, so I'll be lenient. You will be here by four tomorrow morning, and anyone who is late will have thirty points deducted. When coming, you are expected to bring nothing with you; the school will provide all the necessities for the weekend training exercise. If any of you comes back with something even resembling a hangover, I'll personally ensure that you're sent to the gulag for a month."

Scar looked around at all the students to make sure that his threat would register properly, and then he turned around and waved back at the students.

"You killers have fun."

Once Scar was gone, Azrael turned to look at his system to see how many stat points he gained, and he saw that his Mortal Stats had all increased by three to five points.

Scar increased the training regimen today to account for the increase in the students' strength, but he didn't put the students through as much work as last time because he knew they were going to be going through another intense training exercise for the next two days.

At the rate he was going, Azrael should be able to get into B Rank by the next training exercise.

Azrael knew that this rate of growth was not normal, and he was just thankful that he had the EX Rank potential to cover for him.

If not for all the mystery surrounding his Divine Potential, Azrael was sure that someone would have become suspicious of his rapid growth.

The other students in the room were muttering to each other about how many points they received, and Azrael noticed that none of the mid-potential students got anything above three points combined in all their stats.

It was just like Scar said earlier.

Azrael was getting much more out of training because of his potential.

It was almost like two athletes who trained for the same amount of time but gained different benefits from the training because of their genetics. One of them had better genetics, so they naturally performed better than the other one.

Divine Potential worked in the same way for the students.

"Captain."

Azrael turned around when he heard someone calling him, and he was surprised to see Henry standing behind him imposingly.

Henry was the tallest and largest boy in their class, so it was easy for him to tower over anyone he approached.

Azrael hummed while putting his hands on his waist.

"What is it?"

"I saw the team divisions. You and I are on the same team for the training exercise tomorrow. I brought everyone so we can talk strategy."

Azrael scratched his head lightly as he remembered that they were going to be grouped up for the exercise, and Henry was put on the same team as him and Jane.

Azrael looked to his side and saw that Jane Ashton was standing a little behind Henry with her hands folded over her chest. She was trying her best not to look at him, and Azrael wondered if she still felt embarrassed about what happened last night.

Behind her, Gerald Gaye was drinking water without bothering to pay them any attention.

"U-Uhm… hello."

Azrael turned around and saw the last member of their group standing there with her hands joined in front of her and her head bowed.

Francis' ex-girlfriend, Tiana.

Azrael sent a silent curse towards Scar for forcing such an unorthodox group of students to work together.

Scar was definitely trying to make them fail.

Azrael finally decided that they weren't going to get anywhere by just standing around, and he gave an order.

"Let's meet up in one of the gym arenas after we freshen up. Let's say… in ten minutes."

"Ten minutes is too short. Let's take thirty."

Azrael glared at Gerald when he said this.

Gerald was still not looking at any of them, and once he finished drinking the water, he waved and started to leave.

"I'll see you retards in thirty minutes."

Azrael took a silent breath to calm himself before he spoke.

"Fuck him, we'll meet in ten minutes. If he misses it, then that's even better."

Henry and Tiana nodded in agreement as they started to leave, and Azrael raised a brow when Jane didn't move.

She stepped closer to him, and Azrael asked her what she wanted.

Jane finally looked at Azrael, and Azrael noticed that there was a bit of anger present in her eyes, like she didn't want to do this, but she had no choice.

Jane muttered quietly:

"I'm sorry about yesterday. I don't know what came over my mum. She's not always like that."

Azrael's eyes widened slightly at her apology. He couldn't remember the last time he heard Jane apologize for anything.

Her mother's actions yesterday must've really embarrassed her.

Azrael shook his head.

"It's fine. No harm done."

Jane looked into his eyes and searched for the truth in them, and after a while, she seemed to have found what she was looking for as she nodded.

"You didn't tell anyone what happened, did you?"

"Do I look like the sort of person to do that?"

Jane huffed.

"I suppose not. You don't have many friends anyway."

Jane turned to leave but then, she stopped and asked a question.

"Since when were you and Cleopatra so close?"

Azrael shrugged in response, and Jane narrowed her eyes suspiciously before she finally left.

The meeting between the five of them was held in one of the large arena rooms in the gym.

They didn't want anyone hearing what they would be talking about, so they chose to hold it in a place where others couldn't get in easily.

There were no chairs, so they all sat on the floor in a small circle.

Gerald was the first to speak up.

"I have to be somewhere real soon, so you retards better finish this quickly."

Gerald spoke up with a frown without bothering to look at any of his teammates.

Gerald had seen Henry leaving early for the meeting and that was the only reason why he managed to come on time. He couldn't believe these retards were going to have the meeting without him.

"Stop calling us retards, Jerry."

Jane glared at Gerald in anger, and Gerald immediately got to his feet.

"I told you not to ever call me that!"

Gerald was about to start a fight, but Henry immediately put a stop to it.

"Sit down. Nobody's fighting."

Henry's deep voice cut through the group quickly and made Gerald growl in irritation, but Gerald didn't argue and just went and sat back down.

Henry then turned to look at Azrael expectantly, and Azrael had half a mind to give Henry the position of group leader right then.

From what Azrael had seen so far, Henry was the only one in the class who could control Gerald's idiotic tendencies.

And although Azrael could simply beat Gerald into submission, he didn't have the time or energy to deal with him.

Azrael decided to just get things over with.

"Who has an idea of what we'll be facing in the training session?"

Jane shifted a little from her place beside Tiana before she spoke.

"I asked some of the seniors about their training exercise last year, and they said it was going to be different every time. They went through a search and a rescue mission where each group was in charge of protecting a victim from daemons. And another time it was a survival challenge in some sort of swamp. But they also said that we should prepare to fight against daemons. They'll be present in every challenge."

Azrael nodded.

That made sense.

The school was meant to train students on how to get stronger, and as far as the students knew, the only way to really gain strength was by killing demons.

It was expected that they would start making them face daemons sooner or later.
