Chapter 963: 963: Baby
Chapter 963: Chapter 963: Baby
Lin Shen brought Duo to the hideout of the four Little Tigers, and they decided to temporarily hide there.
Lin Shen made up an excuse to leave alone and found a secluded spot. He took out the Space Capsule and started emptying its contents to see what was inside.
He wasn’t really that greedy to steal Duo’s belongings. Rather, his current identity put him in an awkward situation. Having some useful information would make impersonating a Divine Being easier, otherwise, if his cover was blown, he would be in danger.
Yet he couldn’t leave Duo behind; he was planning to use her help to escape from this planet.
Now Lin Shen only hoped that the capsule contained information about the Celestial Court. He didn’t care much for other treasures.
“If only there were a communication device…” Lin Shen thought to himself while emptying the capsule.
The contents of the Space Capsule seemed scarce. Lin Shen had to shake it several times before a book fell out – surprisingly, it was made of paper.
“Advanced technological civilization, and there’s still a paper book?” Lin Shen was delighted, thinking if this turned out to be a historical book of the Celestial Court, his chances of successfully impersonating a Divine Being would be much higher.
Not bothering to empty more items, Lin Shen picked up the book and carefully examined it. It was titled “Sun-Chasing Great Method.”
“It looks like a Cultivation Technique?” Lin Shen was slightly disappointed, but as he glanced over the beginning section, his mouth dropped open in shock.
“Our Ancestor Kuafu of the Sun-Chasing Clan created this Unparalleled Divine Skill. At its ultimate stage, one can step through the river of time, travel upstream to the past, reverse the future, and alter the Reality Law, making it the strongest Divine Skill in the world…”
Traveling to the past and reversing the future sounded ambitious; Lin Shen was somewhat skeptical.
Time belonged to the Immortal Laws; which were immutable. He had never heard of anyone truly able to travel back in time.
If transmigrators truly existed, then the world would have been thrown into chaos long ago.
Since the world remained orderly, it suggested the absence of transmigrators.
A Cultivation Technique turning someone into a transmigrator was a concept Lin Shen didn’t believe.
However, what truly surprised him wasn’t these boastful claims but rather that the Ancestor of the Sun-Chasing Clan was named Kuafu, which, together with the name Sun-Chasing, reminded Lin Shen of the legendary Great God Kuafu from human myths.
“Could it be that what Lin Wan said was partly true? That the mythological Great God Kuafu was a human from an ancient civilization who really broke through the death calamity to enter the Celestial Court; unlike what Lin Wan said, Kuafu didn’t sacrifice his physical body to enter the Celestial Court but instead entered with his physical body and continued his lineage there, leaving behind the Divine Beings of the Sun-Chasing Clan?” Lin Shen felt confident this was accurate.
Lin Shen then thought about his own Sun-shooting Bow, rumored to have belonged to a General under the Ancient Realm King, known as the Sun Shooter General. Perhaps, he belongs to another ancient God’s clan.
If that was the case, Lin Shen felt this matter was not simple; why would a Divine Being serve under the Ancient Realm King?
He couldn’t dwell on these thoughts now. Lin Shen continued to empty the capsule to see what else was inside.
Another item came out — yet another book.
“Please don’t let it be another Cultivation Method; that’s the last thing I need right now,” Lin Shen silently prayed.
But what he feared arrived; the four characters on the book read “Sun-shooting Great Method.”
Lin Shen was momentarily dazed; if Duo belonged to the Sun-Chasing Clan and possessed the “Sun-Chasing Great Method,” it was understandable. But why would she have a book on “Sun-shooting Great Method”? That should belong to the Yi God, shouldn’t it?
Thinking this way, Lin Shen flipped through the pages and, sure enough, the contents at the beginning were very similar to the Sun-Chasing Great Method.
“Our Ancestor Dayi, creator of the Sun-shooting Great Method…” After reading for a while, Lin Shen knew it was indeed as he thought; this Sun-shooting Great Method was indeed created by that Great God, who also established the lineage of Divine Beings within the Celestial Court.
The race left behind by that Great God was called “Yitian Clan,” but what differences it had with the Sun-Chasing Clan, Lin Shen had no way of knowing; thus, he also didn’t know which clan this Duo belonged to.
Lin Shen had no interest in these cultivation techniques anymore and set them aside, continuing to rummage through the rest.
Quickly, another object fell out; it was a small jade bottle, only as big as a palm, and seemed quite crude as if it were polished by a primitive tribe.
Yet this object, under such strong gravity, showed no signs of any cracks, which indicated that the material must be rather special.
But this isn’t the main point; on the outside of the small jade bottle, the words “Elixir of Immortality” were actually engraved.
“Holy… What’s going on… Could this be the Elixir of Immortality that Chang’e stole?” Lin Shen looked more and more bewildered, hesitated for a moment, but still pulled the wooden stopper off the bottle.
Instantly, a refreshing fragrance entered Lin Shen’s nose, invigorating his spirit immediately. All the pores on his body seemed to open at this moment, feeling indescribably comfortable.
Lin Shen hurriedly capped the bottle again to prevent the medicinal aroma from escaping, which could attract Duo.
He could see clearly now; behind the small jade bottle, there indeed lay a pill that looked like a clump of coagulated blood.
Lin Shen’s feelings were very complex now. If this item really was the Elixir of Immortality that Chang’e consumed, then if he consumed it, would he be able to directly ascend in broad daylight?
Obviously, this was not very reliable; if it was really such a divine medicine, why wouldn’t Duo use it herself instead of keeping it in a bottle.
Lin Shen put the small jade bottle away and continued to pour out things until now; still, he had not found what he truly needed.
Another object fell out, Lin Shen glanced at it and immediately turned his head away, as what spilled out this time was a pair of white thong underwear.
“I didn’t see that coming. Despite Duo’s demure appearance, she seems to have this kind of taste.” Lin Shen clicked his tongue in wonder, then continued to rummage.
Clang!
A heavy object fell to the ground, startling Lin Shen. He immediately looked around, but did not notice any movements nearby.
This place was still a distance from where they were hiding, so Duo might not have been able to hear anything.
Lin Shen took a closer look to see exactly what had fallen out.
The object was dark and seemed to be made of black iron, resembling a bell in its shape, but it was too small, only as big as a palm.
Tiny characters were engraved all over the bell’s surface, covering its entire exterior.
“Chaos Bell…” Lin Shen saw a vertical row of four larger characters on the bell’s surface and couldn’t help but read them out loud.
Buzz!
The Little Bell in Lin Shen’s hand suddenly started to vibrate.
What do you think?
