Surgery Godfather

Chapter 283 - 0267: Home

Chapter 283: Chapter 0267: Home

Yang Ping’s rented house is close by, just in the community across the hospital, reachable by crossing a pedestrian footbridge.

It’s a lot cheaper to rent a house here than in downtown. Yang Ping had thought about having his parents over for a visit when he rented the place, so he rented a 3-bedroom, 2-livingroom apartment with over a hundred square meters, costing just over two grand.

Yang Ping leads the way as they step out of the elevator, with Xiao Su following behind him. He unlocks the door.

“So you live here, quite tidy!” Xiao Su comments, in a soft tone.

Yang Ping gently closes the door: “Hmm! Make yourself at home.”

Yang Ping gets a pair of new female slippers from the shoe cabinet by the door and hands them to Xiao Su. They are in her size.

...

“Do you often have girls coming over?” Xiao Su pretends to be angry, indicating the ready-made female slippers.

“No, except for the occasional visit from Little Five, I don’t have many guests. You’re the first female guest, and these are new slippers bought specifically for you.” Yang Ping hurriedly explains.

“Humph! Am I just a guest?” Xiao Su retorts.

Yang Ping immediately realizes his mistake: “Oops, my bad. Totally a slip of the tongue. You’re the female host, after all. Please!”

“That’s more like it!” Xiao Su smiles with satisfaction.

Xiao Su glances around the room while Yang Ping continues to show her around. Only the two of them are in the room, and although they are usually intimately close and unrestricted, they both feel a bit tensed at this moment.

Xiao Su turns around, her rosy cheeks blooming like flowers.

“Sit, you see— It’s quite messy!” Yang Ping’s voice stutters a bit.

“Hmm! Let me check it out, I’ll help you clean up soon.”

“Feel free to.”

Even for a guy, the room is quite tidy, as Yang Ping values cleanliness and orderliness.

Perhaps it’s his nature as a doctor. He always strives for perfection. Some people might say that this is a form of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, but he disagrees. He considers it as a sign of quality consciousness.

“This is my bedroom. This can be considered a study, and this is the guest room!”

Yang Ping opens each bedroom one by one. The bookshelf in the study is neatly filled with books. It’s almost like a mini library.

Yang Ping spent over ten thousand Yuan on the bookshelf, probably the most expensive item in his room. He could skimp on other things, but the bookshelf had to be grand.

“So many books? No wonder you’re so learned. Do you read daily?”

Xiao Su tries to make conversation. Usually, they talk about everything under the sun. But now, they oddly don’t know where to start.

In reality, Yang Ping would typically read in his system space. Even though it consumes points, it doesn’t waste real-time. With his current points tally, he could read for as long as he wanted.

However, habit is a hard thing to break. If his house isn’t besieged by books, he wouldn’t fell settled. Thus, he keeps buying books, similar to a woman’s penchant for online shopping.

Not having a book within arm’s reach at his bedside would also unsettle him.

Several classic Orthopedics books, like Chinese and English versions of Campbell’s Operative Orthopaedics, are stacked on his bedside table.

The study room’s curtain is drawn. After viewing the room, Xiao Su stops in that space.

Just as she is about to open the curtains, Yang Ping embraces her from behind.

Inside the dimly lit study, with the young lovers and the raging hormones, the boy’s mind heats up as the passionate fire rages on.

Yang Ping holds her tightly, his nose buried in her black hair, stroking it, and soaking in the intoxicating scent.

“What are you doing?”

Xiao Su’s heart pounds away like a startled deer, but she doesn’t resist or attempt to grab Yang Ping’s restless hand.

“I—-Just—-came to help you clean up.”

Xiao Su mutters, her voice barely more than a whisper, almost inaudible.

Once the level of hormones in the blood surpasses a threshold, a person’s thoughts are controlled by primal instincts. A beastly desire and force burst forth like a tidal wave.

With male hormones continuously being released, the specific functional areas in the cerebral cortex, diencephalon, and mesencephalon’s cortical areas become highly excited.

This excitement, manifested as electrical and chemical signals, speeds down the neural pathways.

Reaching the lower centers in the spinal cord, particularly the functional areas in the sacral cord, the signals undergo a transformation and continue to the target organ at tens of meters per second.

The target organ responds instantly, receiving the command, and decisively takes action.

The speed of arterial and venous blood flow instantaneously changes – the arterial blood flow accelerates while the venous blood flow slows down. The amount of arterial blood flow quickly surpasses the rate of venous blood inflow.

The nervous system, endocrine system, psychological and physiological aspects, complex and exquisite, seamlessly coordinating multiple systems.

Accelerated heart rate and breathing, a surge in blood pressure, the heart increasing its power, target organs transforming, a drawn bow ready to shoot its arrow.

“Good boy, bear with it. We have to wait until we’re married!”

Xiao Su’s breathing hastened, tightly gripping Yang Ping’s hand.

“I’m sorry!”

Yang Ping abruptly sobered up, admitting his desires were too strong.

“It’s okay!”

Xiao Su whispered gently.

But Yang Ping held her even tighter.

Xiao Su turned around, her head tilted upward cradling Yang Ping’s face: “Listen, be patient, alright? Until we’re married?”

She was like a gentle doe, pleading with a soft tone. Yang Ping hugged her against his chest: “Okay!”

They held each other for a long while before parting. Xiao Su casually brushed her hair, adjusting her clothes, then gently drew back the curtains: “Let’s see what the kitchen needs. We can go shopping together soon. We should find out what your aunt and uncle like to eat. I’ll cook tomorrow at noon and we can go to a nearby restaurant for dinner. You need to rest for your surgery tomorrow, I’ll handle these arrangements.”

Her tone portrayed her as the lady of the house, the future daughter-in-law.

“Can I…call you my girlfriend tomorrow?” Xiao Su asked, her cheeks flushed. @@novelbin@@

Yang Ping nodded: “Silly girl, I’ll call them now and let them know their future daughter-in-law is coming to pick them up.”

Xiao Su held up a finger, the universal sign for staying quiet: “Don’t, let’s give them a surprise!”

This girl, always enjoying such antics, but that’s okay. The constant pressure to find a girlfriend over the phone would finally be over now, as his girlfriend herself would greet them. He wondered how his mother would react.

Xiao Su checked the kitchenware, tableware, oils, condiments and cooking ingredients in the kitchen. The vegetables would be fresher if bought tomorrow morning, but the rest needed to be bought tonight.

Quickly, Xiao Su made a detailed list: “We’ll go shopping soon. I’ll buy, you’ll carry. I’ll cook dinner for you.”

“Can you come over often in the future?” Yang Ping asked, looking deeply into Xiao Su’s eyes.

Xiao Su nodded: “It depends on your perseverance. I want to wait until we’re married –– you’re not mad at me, are you?”

Yang Ping hugged her tightly: “Of course not, I can wait!”

Xiao Su was well-educated; if she loved, then she would cherish and protect that love!

The two went to the Community supermarket to shop according to the list and ran into Little Five and Xiao Qing.

Xiao Qing’s parents bought them a house in this community for their convenience, Xiao Qing’s mother helped with the laundry and cooking, and her father helped clean the house and buy groceries.

“Senior brother?”

Little Five was surprised to see Yang Ping and Xiao Su together at the supermarket in the evening. Were they living together? This was the pace of people about to get married.

Xiao Su was concerned about Xiao Qing’s prenatal reactions, the two girls chatted merrily.

Little Five pulled Yang Ping to one side: “Bro, are you already on board the relationship boat? When are you going to pay the fare? Give us a heads-up.”

“You think everyone is like you, getting on the boat before paying the fare,” Yang Ping retorted, giving him a punch.

“My parents are coming tomorrow. Xiao Su is helping me tidy the room. I’ll be having surgery tomorrow, the one for Amniotic Band Syndrome in pediatric surgery. Xiao Su will pick up my parents for me,” Yang Ping clarified.

Little Five chuckled: “No wonder you didn’t want me to go. I’ve been wondering, why wasn’t I given the job of picking up the parents for such a big event? So, the future daughter-in-law is picking them up, huh. I bet your parents won’t be able to close their grinning mouths, especially your mum, she’s always so eager.”

“You’re going to be a father soon. Stop wandering around aimlessly. If there are more things to do at home and you need a break, just let me know,” said Yang Ping, changing the subject.

“It’s alright, her mother is taking care of things. I just need to go to work as usual,” responded Little Five, relaxed.

After chatting for a while, Yang Ping carried the shopping, Xiao Su holding his hand, and they went home together.

They washed the vegetables together, giggling and frolicking in the process. Xiao Su then tied her apron and went to prepare the food in the kitchen. Yang Ping wanted to help, but Xiao Su shooed him away: “Just sit on the sofa and watch TV, Professor Yang.”

It couldn’t be helped, he could assist with washing the vegetables, but his cooking skills were not only inadequate, but might also cause a disruption.

Looks like it’s just watching TV then. The tea on the table was hot, the fruit was freshly washed, and a box of tissues was also nearby.

Wonderful! Having a woman around truly made a house feel like a home. Without a woman, it was just a house.

A pleasant aroma wafted from the kitchen, and the first dish was served at the table soon.
