Survival in the Ruins: I can make everything evolve infinitely

Chapter 40 - Absolutely a Divine Ability

Chapter 040: Absolutely a Divine Ability

Mu Liang stood up from the field embankment and reached out to touch the tea tree.

“Ding! Detecting a tamable plant. Tame it?”

“Tame,” Mu Liang commanded skilfully.

“Ding! Detecting Level 0 Lifeform: Luminous Green Tea Tree. Taming in progress…”

“Ding! Consuming 10 taming points. Taming successful.”

“Ding! Would you like to inherit the ‘Radiant Tea Tree’ talent: Radiant Growth?”

“Inherit,” Mu Liang replied, accepting the new ability.

“Ding! Modifying ‘Radiant Growth’… Adapting… Inheritance complete.”

Mu Liang felt a fleeting sensation of strengthening within his body as the ability integrated.

He turned his attention to the newly tamed tea tree, which had grown significantly—from 20 centimetres to half a metre tall.

The green leaves now bore tiny, luminescent green specks that resembled stars scattered across their surface.

Having evolved into a Radiant Tea Tree, its abilities were still somewhat unclear to Mu Liang.

“Activate Radiant Growth,” he muttered, directing the ability at the tomato plant.

A faint green light emanated from his palm, enveloping the withered tomato vine, which slowly regained a hint of vitality.

Moments later, the glow dissipated.

“Radiant Growth can accelerate plant growth,” Mu Liang realised, his black eyes lighting up with excitement.

In a post-apocalyptic world, the ability to accelerate plant growth was nothing short of a divine gift.

“It’s good, but the growth effect is too weak,” Mu Liang murmured, unsatisfied with the minimal acceleration.

He decided to evolve the Radiant Tea Tree and test the upgraded abilities.@@novelbin@@

“System, evolve the Radiant Tea Tree to Level 3,” Mu Liang commanded.

“Ding! Evolving Level 1 Radiant Tea Tree to Level 3. Consuming 110 evolution points.”

“Ding! Level 3 Radiant Tea Tree evolution successful.”

“Ding! Level 3 Radiant Tea Tree talent evolved: Radiant Field.”

“Ding! Synchronising Radiant Growth with Radiant Field to match Level 3 capabilities.”

“Radiant Field?” Mu Liang blinked, puzzled by the new ability.

No problem—experimentation would clarify things.

“Activate Radiant Field,” he ordered, and the ability responded to his thoughts.

Buzz~~

A soft green luminescence enveloped Mu Liang, his clothes fluttering slightly as if caught in an ethereal breeze.

The glow imbued him with an almost divine aura, making him appear like a celestial being descended to earth.

Within a 10-metre radius around him, all the withered plants sprang back to life.

Yellowed leaves turned green, and some branches even began to sprout anew.

“So this is Radiant Field—an ability that revitalises all plants within a 10-metre radius,” Mu Liang said, a smile spreading across his face.

At that moment, he truly felt like he had unlocked a god-like power.

Opening the system interface, he reviewed his updated stats:

Tamer: Mu Liang.

                                • Angel’s Wings(Talent: Angel’s Tears, Level 1).

Mu Liang’s stats had received another boost thanks to the enhancements provided by the Level 4 Rock-armoured Turtle, Level 3 Radiant Tea Tree, and Level 1 Angel’s Wings.

His lifespan had even extended to an astonishing 930 years.

“You’re my new treasure now,” Mu Liang said, beaming with satisfaction as he regarded the Radiant Tea Tree, which had grown to a height of two metres.

Each of its green leaves bore three tiny, luminescent specks, resembling stars twinkling on a lush canvas.

“Little Cai, come here and get to work,” Mu Liang called out to the tri-coloured lizard, which had been dozing near the edge of the turtle’s shell.

“Hiss~~”

The lizard crawled over and crouched under the tea tree, wagging its tongue in contentment.

“Shoo, shoo! Go lie by the field embankment,” Mu Liang said, shooing the lizard away.

“Don’t you dare take the tea tree’s spot—I plan to sit under it for tea someday.”

The tri-coloured lizard: “…”

Looking thoroughly aggrieved, it slinked off to the embankment and lay down.

“All the plants are alive again. If I accelerate the cabbage growth a few more times, maybe it’ll produce seeds,” Mu Liang muttered wistfully, licking his lips.

He had been looking forward to a meal of boiled cabbage soup. However, the cabbages were still too small, and harvesting them now would be wasteful. Accelerating their growth further would maximise their value.

As for the other plants, Mu Liang didn’t dare touch them without confirming they were safe to eat.

For now, he set his sights on the tomato plants, plucking a few ripe, red tomatoes.

“If only I had eggs,” Mu Liang said longingly, gazing at the three small tomatoes in his hand.

With no way to make tomato scrambled eggs, he resolved to cook a pot of tomato soup with meat instead.

“I should sow some seeds,” Mu Liang said, remembering the seeds he had collected.

He figured it would be wasteful not to maximise the 10-metre Radiant Field around the tea tree.

Retrieving the seeds from inside the house, he scattered them within the tea tree’s effective radius.

“Now for some water and a thin layer of soil to cover it all,” Mu Liang said, surveying the field with satisfaction.

No, this wasn’t just a vegetable patch—it was a plantation.

“For water, I’ll use the Crystal Fish’s condensed water,” Mu Liang decided.

He retrieved the wooden barrel containing the Crystal Fish from under the table in his house.

Splash, splash~~

The sound of water rippling came from within the barrel.

“It’s still lively,” Mu Liang noted, carefully lifting the lid slightly.

Splash, splash~~

A stream of crystalline water slipped through the gap, testing its surroundings.

“I’ll dig a pond for you tomorrow, so you’ll have a proper place to stay,” Mu Liang said with a chuckle, closing the lid gently.

Since he had used up his taming points for the day, he planned to tame the Crystal Fish tomorrow.

Once the pond was ready, it would provide an endless source of fresh water.

Carrying the barrel outside, Mu Liang opened a narrow slit in the lid, allowing the Crystal Fish’s condensed water to trickle out and nourish the soil.
