The CEO's Wife Is A Demon God's Daughter

Chapter 972 972: Defending the Western Side

If Liam and Tristan's team managed to defend their assigned areas, Eric and Justine were having difficulties fighting their enemies. Eric, on the western side, and Justine on the eastern side– both of them were facing Shamans.

Shamans could cast different types of spells and some of their spells could pass through the barrier. Most of them used Controlling Spells so that they could control the guardian warriors inside the barrier, making them fight each other.

Both sides were in a chaotic state. The giant spider that was supposed to help Eric's team suddenly became an enemy because of the mind control spells cast by the shamans.

Giant Spider's eyes glowed with malevolent intent. It lunged at the warriors, its fangs bared.

"Look out!" Eric warned his comrades.

The spider's massive legs crashed through the large rocks, sending splinters flying. The guardian warriors scattered, barely avoiding the creature's deadly strike. Unfortunately, some of them were captured and immobilized by the spider's web trap.

"Form up! Keep your eyes on the target!" Eric ordered the team. "Help the captives. Remove the sticky threads so that our comrades can move again. Beware of the poison."

The warriors quickly regrouped, forming a tight circle with their shields raised. The spider reared back, hissing angrily. It lunged again, its fangs striking against the shields with a deafening clang.

However, that was not the only concern of Eric's team. Outside the barrier, the Shamans began to cast another spell. A large mass of fog started to form, blurring their visions.

Eric gritted his teeth as he could sense the gravity of the situation. They were at a great disadvantage.

'Can we survive this? We can't ask for backup. Each team is busy protecting the four sides.'

Eric could feel the helplessness in the situation. He felt like they were doomed. But they must never give up! They must fight until the end.

Guardian Warrior: "Aim for the eyes!"

Daggers and arrows flew through the air, aimed at the spider's glowing eyes. The creature screeched in pain as several arrows hit their mark, but it quickly retaliated, swiping its massive legs at the nearest warriors. Five guardian warriors were knocked to the ground, their shields shattered.

"Healers! Support our comrades. Tend to their wounds!" Eric led his team.

"Elite fighters! Protect the healers!" Eric kept his cool despite the severity of the situation.

Drawing out his sword, Eric charged forward. "We need to take out its legs! Aim for the joints."

The elite fighters focused their attacks on the spider's legs, hacking and slashing with their swords.

The spider roared in fury, its movement becoming more erratic and desperate.

Elite Fighter: "It's weakening! Keep at it!"

With a coordinated effort, the warriors managed to sever one of the spider's legs. The creature stumbled, its balance thrown off. Seizing the opportunity, Eric charged forward, driving his sword into the spider's underbelly.

The spider let out a final, agonized screech before collapsing to the ground, its massive body twitching before becoming still.

Eric panted heavily.

"Well done, everyone. Stay vigilant. There could be more tricks the Shamans have prepared for us." Eric warned his team.

The warriors nodded, gathering their injured comrades and tending to their wounds. As they regrouped, they heard the voices of the Shamans chanting other spells. The sense of unease remained. They didn't know what was happening outside since the massive fog clouded their vision. The Shamans were now hidden from their views.

Just even before they could relax, the ground shook, and moving vines resurfaced from the crack, snaking their way to attack the warriors.

Eric and his comrades had been captured by the moving vines. Their hands, feet, and body were wrapped and restrained. The thorns of the vines buried and punctured their flesh, making them bleed.

Their wince and cries echoed in the area.

'Oh no! Is this our end? Are we all going to die here?' Eric shut his eyes, gritting his teeth.

Somewhere in his subconscious, he was praying to be rescued by someone. He didn't want to die. He didn't want his friends and comrades to die.

'Please. Help us. Help us.' Eric uttered a silent prayer.

Before he knew it, the vines suddenly stopped moving, freeing them one by one. Eric opened his eyes, feeling a bit confused.

'What is happening?' He looked around, checking his other comrades.

Most of them were disoriented. They were also clueless about what had just happened. A while ago, they were being strangled by the vines, immobilizing and suffocating each one of them. They were on the verge of losing their consciousness when they suddenly felt the vines release them.

They looked outside the barrier. The massive fog started to disappear. They could no longer hear the voices of the Shamans.

As time went by, the surroundings became clear. The massive fog was gone.

Eric and his comrades gasped in surprise when they saw several shamans lying on the ground, unconscious.

In the middle of the unconscious crowd, Tristan stood along with Famo. Eric almost cried in joy when he saw Tristan with his triumphant smile.

Tristan and FaMo knocked down all the Shamans. That was the reason why the spells had stopped. They looked at the pair with their grateful eyes.

"Sir Tristan! You saved us. We owe you our lives!" Eric dropped to his knees as he expressed his gratitude to Tristan and FaMo.

Tristan just gave them a reassuring smile. "No need to thank me. I'm just doing the right thing."

"Now, to those who can still fight, go to the eastern side. My team also went there to support Justine. FaMo and I can't go back inside because of the barrier. We are going to the Northern Side to help Liam." Tristan shared his next steps with Eric's team.

"Yes, Sir! We are going to support Justine." Eric responded.

Tristan was about to teleport together with FaMo when Eric spoke again, giving him a piece of advice. "Sis Tristan. Wait."

Tristan and FaMo glanced at Eric. "Yes?"

"There is a fastest way to subdue our enemies."

"Oh really? Then what is it?" Tristan asked him with intrigue.

"Capture their Guardian Leader! Make him your hostage. I know, with your strength and power, you can easily deal with him." Eric put his trust in him.

"Hahahah!" Tristan's laughter echoed in the area. "Nice tip, Eric. Good job! FaMo and I will deal with the guardian leader. As long as it's not Liam, I guess I can capture him easily. Hahah."

"By the way, who is their guardian leader?"

"It's Calec!" Eric responded.

Tristan's eyes lit up upon hearing that name. "Oh. I think I'm familiar with him. I met him before in my world. I guess it's time to settle some score with him." Tristan uttered confidently.

Eric nodded, feeling relieved. "Yes, Sir. Punish him. Teach him a lesson!"

Tristan let out a soft chuckle once more. "I got it. Leave this to me, Eric. Now go and help your comrades."

After saying that, Tristan and FaMo moved sneakily and teleported to the Northern Side. They had to conceal their presence and observe the situation first on the northern side before making a move.

"FaMo, do you still recognize our target?" Tristan asked him.

"Of course! I will never forget those faces who tried to harm Zhen-Zhen before."
