Chapter 317. Lizard And Dragon I

Dragon King's Harem Chapter 317. Lizard And Dragon I

Days dragged by, marked by the relentless onslaught of paperwork at my desk. The responsibilities pressed down on me, leaving me with little energy for anything.

Chasing after legendary beasts and leveling up had to take a back seat to all the responsibilities of ruling. Even my usual nighttime hunts got cut short.

But honestly, every evening brought a little relief from the grind. Evelina, Jyne, Marissa, and Sela became the escape I didn’t know I needed.

In my room, we’d unwind together. What was supposed to be royal fertility rituals turned into something way more real – affection, laughter, and a bond that actually felt meaningful. It was exactly what I needed to recharge my tired body and, more importantly, my overworked brain. Their presence was like a healing balm, giving me the comfort and connection I didn’t realize I was craving.

A week later. The sun hung high in the sky as Jyne, Evelina, Eir, Al, and I arrived at the border at noon, a barren stretch of land marking the division between our and the Lizard King’s territories.

This time, Al joined our group, not in his usual capacity but as a delegate, representing me, the dragon king, in the upcoming negotiations. Our attire, however, concealed any signs of nobility or authority. Instead of the customary regal garb, we were draped in black, ragged cloaks that obscured our identities.

The chain in each of our hands was the big giveaway – a symbol of our agreement to the Lizard King's request. It dangled loosely though. Our usual confidence was hidden, making us as a group of prisoners playing along.

Ahead of us stood a massive tent, clearly built with a lot of care by the dragon tribe. It wasn’t just any regular tent – it was more like a lavish pavilion, way fancier than the typical ones I’d see on a battlefield or while camping.

The tent, large enough to rival a small house. Rich fabrics adorned its exterior, catching the sunlight in an array of colors that hinted at the prosperity and power of the dragon tribe. @@novelbin@@

It revealed itself as a royal enclave, replete with facilities that befitted the presence of dignitaries. The entrance, adorned with flowing drapes, opened into a spacious interior that housed an array of regal amenities. Plush carpets covered the ground.

Within the tent, the air was infused with a fragrance of exotic incense, heightening the sense of luxury. Furniture adorned the space, offering comfort and refinement to those who entered. It was a place where royalty could convene, negotiate, and forge alliances in an environment that reflected the grandeur of dragon culture.

Around it, an oasis-like haven amidst the desert's stark expanse.

Strange trees, their branches twisted into captivating forms, stretched towards the sky. These were not the typical flora one would expect in a desert; instead, they seemed like living sculptures.

In front of the opulent tent, Al stood at the forefront, clad in his full regalia. Unlike the rest of us concealed in ragged cloaks, Al wore his attire with a dignified grace, something unusual for him. His usual easy demeanor was replaced by a stoic seriousness.

Behind Al stood me, Eir, Evelina and Jyne. Soldiers, loyal to me, encircled us.

Jyne couldn't help but let out a conspiratorial whisper, "I can't wait to see his pale face," her amusement evident as she suppressed a chuckle.

Eir, standing beside me, didn't mince words, his irritation cutting through, "I can't wait to see the lord’s head rolling on the ground."

"Some nobles only know how to use their position to do bad things," I commented in a calm tone.

Evelina, nodding in agreement, added her perspective, "I can't deny that."

Al's terse voice broke the silence, "Here they come." His tone betrayed a sense of urgency, signaling the imminent arrival of the Lizard King.
