Chapter 884: Chapter 45: You Are Women Who Can Become Mothers_2

This was simply more torturous than death itself for her.

“Thankfully she met me.” Luo En sculpted his own glorious image while recounting the events, “At that time, I sensed the life force imprisoned within and shattered the statue, rescuing her. However, by then, her will had nearly collapsed after being eroded for such a long time, so I had no choice but to seal her tragic memories in her mind. To make her forget the past and avoid the pursuit of the Dark Elves and that Spider Goddess, I also gave her a new identity.”

“Rose?” Celebrian muttered, suddenly realizing the truth.

No wonder the name sounded so familiar; it seemed to have a similar pronunciation to the Spider Queen Rose.

It turns out, she was indeed the daughter of the Spider Goddess, sharing a bloodline connection with her.

With her doubts cleared, Celebrian couldn’t help but worry about Iris, the girl in the tent:

“What’s the matter with her now?”

“For some unknown reason, the seal in her mind was undone, and her memory and thinking fell into chaos.”

Luo En helplessly replied, his tone certain.

Because if things were as he expected, this was probably the truth.

Last night, he had set up Defensive Charms around the entire camp; it was impossible for outsiders to sneak in unnoticed.

Moreover, the behavior and actions of the Dark Elf Girl upon awakening, along with the identical facial contours, were proof that she was the Spider Goddess Rose who Luo En had thrown into the tent.

And the reason for this bizarre situation was also hidden in the story told by Luo En.

The Spider Queen Rose and the Dark Girl Iris were most likely two sides of the same entity, one representing her own malice, the other her benevolence.

Due to incompatible ideologies, they began a struggle for control over the body.

The result of the last struggle was clearly Rose’s victory; thus, the persona of the Dark Girl Iris was suppressed.

However, last night, for some unknown reason, the long-silent Dark Girl Iris awoke and regained control of the body.

But Iris’s victory seemed incomplete, leading to confusion in her consciousness and thoughts.

“So what do we do now?” Celebrian asked with a frown.

Although she was a member of the Light Elves, she was open-minded and free-spirited, without any racial prejudice.

And having long admired the legendary Dark Girl Iris who was inclined towards Light, she became even more concerned about the welfare of this Elf Goddess upon learning Rose’s true identity.

Luo En thought for a moment and then instructed:

“For the time being, try not to provoke her. Once her emotions stabilize, I’ll see if I can help her recover.”

Due to the uncertainty about the specific reasons behind Rose’s personality split and soul transformation, Luo En did not dare to make any guarantees and could only adopt a relatively prudent strategy for the patient.

“But what if she does something outrageous?” Xili asked.

“The patient can’t handle stimulation; we need to take care of her emotions and just let her be,” replied chief physician Luo En, fully demonstrating his humanitarian concern.

Then…

A naked Dark Elf girl emerged from the tent, curiously surveying the scenery around the camp.

The three of them:…

~~

Several days later.

Luo En, Celebrian, and Xili each sporting a pair of dark circles under their eyes, looking haggard as if they had been drained of their very essence and spirit.

There was no help for it, as the Elf Goddess in the team was far too much to handle.

In these few days, she spent her time either humming “Elf Song” and dancing alone under the moon, or playing her instruments performing impromptu swordsmanship, or unable to contain her restlessness, she went hunting alone in the deep mountains…

In short, she seemed to have boundless energy to vent.

What was even more frustrating was that Iris had a persistent bad habit –

—running around naked.

The three of them had to constantly keep watch to prevent this somewhat dim-witted Elf Goddess from being seen in such an indecent state by outsiders.

After much persuasion, Iris finally showed some restraint.

She agreed that, aside from formal rituals and prayers, she would not be naked lightly.

According to the ancient ritual traditions of the Elf Clan, the elves maintained a state of nudity during worship of their Deities, believing that clothing and other such coverings would interfere with their connection to nature and the divine, affecting their devotion.

“Ladies and gentlemen, once we reach the new campsite, I’ll cook for everyone.”

The spirited Iris, or rather the younger version Rose, moved to the front of the team, rallying her companions with her voice.

Her pleasant voice reached everyone’s ears, providing a spiritual refreshment, as if in the dog days of summer a cup of ice water had been drunk, so refreshing.

But upon hearing the content of the speech, both Celebrian and Xili’s faces paled.

Due to mental issues, the elf goddess seemed to have a hard time distinguishing between food and poison.

Hence, the dishes she prepared often contained some kind of unknown toxicity.

A while ago, enticed by her sweet smile, both Xili and Celebrian had a taste of the mushroom soup cooked by Rose.

The result was that as soon as the mushroom soup was ingested, they both turned green from head to toe, seeing a great swarm of brightly colored little people flitting before their eyes.

If Luo En, who had gone out to gather ingredients, hadn’t returned in time, they would both have been six feet under by now.

Seeing Rose decisively head into the woods with a radiant smile to look for mushrooms, Celebrian and Xili couldn’t help but grab Luo En’s arm and plead:

“How many days has it been? Can’t we do something to make her normal again?”

“If this goes on, even if she doesn’t go mad, we will!”

Being tugged at back and forth, Luo En was at his wit’s end:

“I’ve tried, but it’s no use!”

All along the way, he hadn’t spared any efforts in casting purification spells and blessings on Rose, hoping to heal her mind.

But due to the mismatch between cure and ailment, not only did Rose fail to return to normal, she even gained more energy to wreak havoc.

“So, who’s going to soothe her tonight? I quit~!”

Xili pointed to her dark circles, her tone full of silent complaints.

As a dark elf, Rose’s energy surged during nighttime and often required someone specifically to lull her to sleep. Yet, her sleeping position was exceedingly poor, as she greatly enjoyed using living people as her pillows.

Coupled with the strength of a deity, those seemingly delicate arms could inadvertently strangle a person to death.

Every time they coaxed Rose to sleep, for both Celebrian and Xili, it was a travel through hell concerning their own physical well-being.

And since Luo En was a man, it was inconvenient for him to have too much contact with her.

“Fine, I’ll do it tonight.”

Luo En reluctantly accepted the task, and both Celebrian and Xili heaved a sigh of relief, their hearts filled with indescribable gratitude.

Who could have thought that at their young age, not yet married, they would have already experienced the pains of child-rearing.

“Stop looking so glum, I’ll take care of this meal, alright?”

Hearing Luo En’s words, both Xili and Celebrian’s eyes lit up, the fatigue on their bodies dissipating instantly.

Just as the two sped up their pace, eager to reach the next camp to taste the cuisine prepared by the great chef Luo En, a series of shrill roars came from the wilderness ahead.

The three of them followed the sound and were startled to see hundreds of black dots circling overhead in the wilderness, continuously swooping down.

“Two-legged flying dragons!”

“Somebody’s under attack!”

Celebrian and Xili alternated their answers, simultaneously reaching for their longbows and drawing their swords, entering a state of high alert.

Having traveled together for some time, the group had gradually built a good rapport, becoming more and more like a team.

However, with the incident in the dwarf town, Luo En didn’t want to get too involved in this dragon disaster.

After all, who knows how many of those two-legged flying dragons were spawned by the dwarves’ dragonification.

Helping out might even backfire with complaints.

The best course of action was to make haste to the dwarf capital, find the cause of the dragon disaster, and put an end to this calamity.

Just as Luo En was contemplating how to decline to help with the current situation, a burst of orange flames erupted on the wilderness ahead, and flickering runes coalesced in the sky into the phantom of a brown wolf howling skyward.

That was…

“Guild’s distress signal?” Xili expressed her surprise, “There are guild people ahead!”

Upon hearing this, Luo En immediately discarded the thought of standing by without helping.

Since it was a convoy under Heluo, he had to go see what was going on both on moral and rational grounds.

But before he could speak, Rose dashed out of the woods like a gust of wind, prepared to lend aid to the stranded.

And during her rush, the inherent impulses of the elf goddess surfaced as her hands unconsciously reached for her somewhat burdensome clothing.

Seeing this, Luo En’s face darkened:

“Hurry, keep up with her! Don’t let her take her clothes off~!”

With a sense of urgent trepidation, Celebrian and Xili hurried forward, ready to capture Rose’s recklessly wandering hands.
