Chapter 885: Chapter 46 How to allocate points for a Wizard? Online and waiting, urgent
In the wilderness.
The sharp slicing sound of wings cutting through the air and the vicious roars of beasts reverberated in unison, as dozens of ferocious shadows, wrapped in a bitter Aether Storm, plunged straight towards a human convoy.
“Boom Boom Boom Boom!”
One by one, Cursed Bullets, large and small, fell like meteor showers, plowing through the earth with the brutality of thundering artillery, tossing the convoy into chaos.
“Defense! Set up defenses quickly!” bellowed an old man in charge of the cargo transport, his voice aimed at bolstering the troops’ morale.
That resonant voice seemed to possess a soothing magic, dispelling the Dragonkin’s dragon might and prompting a swift response from everyone in the convoy.
Warriors erected large shields, archers drew longbows, and wizards chanted Protective Spells, together forming a spiked iron barrel around the convoy.
However, as fantastical beings, dragon species inherently possess exceedingly strong resistance to both magic and physical attacks.
Even degraded Two-legged Flying Dragons were immune to ordinary arrows and low-level magic.
Accompanied by a cacophony of metallic clangs, dozen of Two-legged Flying Dragons easily broke through the barrage of arrows and Cursed Bullets, slamming into the people of the convoy.
Talons harder than steel swept across the ground, sending armored soldiers holding large shields tumbling away as if hit by high-speed vehicles.
Worse still, several Two-legged Flying Dragons seized the archers and wizards from the rear lines, lifting them high into the air only to cruelly drop them, watching as these humans smashed into meaty pulp on the ground.
In just a brief round of combat, the hastily established defensive line of the convoy collapsed.
Seeing the Two-legged Flying Dragons about to break through, the leading old man promptly lifted his magic wand and slammed it into the ground.
With a dull thud, the Aether Factor gathered at the top of the magic wand formed a dazzling bright light.
As creatures fond of living in damp environments such as caves and swamps, Two-legged Flying Dragons rarely see the light.
It never occurred to them that a dignified human wizard would commence with a Flash Bomb, so they were caught off guard by the sudden disturbance, screaming in agony and blindly crashing into the midst of the humans.
Seeing the Two-legged Flying Dragon crash, the old man lunged forward, deftly drawing a silver longsword from the Magic Circle Diagram with his other hand, and stabbed it under the Two-legged Flying Dragon’s neck, right into its Reverse Scale.
In an instant, blood splattered and the Flying Dragon let out a mournful cry.
A powerful Dragonkin thus met a humiliating death under the sword of a human wizard.
Having first blood, the old wizard fought more fiercely; with one hand he raised his magic wand to release blinding Flash Technique while with the other he wielded the longsword to strike the enemy’s vital points, swiftly slaying two more grounded Two-legged Flying Dragons.
The rest of the convoy watched in astonishment:
“Isn’t he a wizard?”
“Supposedly…”
Several young wizards in the group murmured back, their tones somewhat unsure.
“What are you waiting for? Kill those that have hit the ground!”
Prompted by that old, anxious voice in their ears, people from the convoy snapped out of their daze, picking up battle axes, longswords, spears, and magic wands, calling out to the several grounded Two-legged Flying Dragons.
Unfortunately, their window of opportunity was fleeting.
During this time, the Two-legged Flying Dragons also reacted, aggregating Cursed Bullets in front of them and spewing Flames from their mouths, sweeping over the ground and indiscriminately bombing the advancing humans trying to deliver the coup de grâce.
Faced with these highly mobile bombing creatures, the human side was thoroughly thrown into disarray.
Moreover, even when they got close to a few grounded Two-legged Flying Dragons, the humans quickly discovered a problem:
Two-legged Flying Dragons would fight back.
They shook their heads and tails, swung their claws and spat poison. Blinded, they still furiously attacked anything that approached.
In addition to the dragon scales that offered high resistance to magic and physical attacks, except for the Reverse Scales, it was difficult for even well-trained warriors to get close, let alone the relatively frail wizards.
Thus, one after another, the humans trying to claim the heads of dragons were sent flying powerlessly.
Only then did everyone realize how much experience was behind the seemingly simple actions taken by the old wizard.
But as he was of advanced age, after dealing with a few fallen Two-legged Flying Dragons, the old wizard’s breathing noticeably quickened.
And his tactic of using the Flash Technique in combination with sword slashing was losing its element of surprise.
The Two-legged Flying Dragons that were prepared kept a safe distance from the old wizard. With their superior mobility and firepower, they blasted every person of the convoy and overturned the carts one after another.
These damned beasts were really clever!
Seeing this scene, the old wizard cursed under his breath.
And as the convoy’s morale was on the brink of collapse, with defense about to break, the old wizard stood with sword in hand and staff leaning against the front of a carriage:
“Miss Belle, it looks like we’re going to be overrun. I’ll try to rip open a gap, you make your escape as quickly as you can!”
“Just a moment!”
A pleasant voice came from the open space behind the carriage; a beautiful girl with light golden hair, dressed in a blue and white long dress, was crouching down, healing a wounded man.
A faint green glow radiated from her pale hands, settling on the man’s abdomen, torn open by dragon claws.
Under the nourishment of the green light, the fierce wound gradually healed, and the previously dying man’s face slowly regained some color.
Moments later, the man’s breathing stabilized and he opened his eyes with difficulty, repeatedly thanking the girl:
“Thank you… Miss Belle…”
“Your wounds aren’t healed yet, try to talk less and don’t move around.”
What do you think?
