Chapter 263
Westmore, the upper echelon conference room.
Even after the meeting had concluded, Monica continued to bite her nails, one of her few uncultivated habits.
Oscar tapped his fountain pen on the table, waiting patiently for his twin sister Monica's worries to subside.
"Looks like there's no sign of Marquis Ludfisher returning. Duke Lancaster doesn’t seem to know yet, does he?"
"He may not know now, but it’s only a matter of time."
Oscar calmly responded, continuing to scribble the name ‘Cherry Sinclair’ repeatedly in his notebook. Monica frowned upon discovering this.
"What, are you interested in Cherry Sinclair?"
"Who, me?" Oscar retorted as if he had heard the most absurd story, causing Monica to be taken aback.
"If not, then why keep writing the Sinclair name?"
"Hmm. Just because."
Oscar paused from writing Cherry Sinclair's name and tossed out an answer lightly.@@novelbin@@
"I feel like eating cherries."
"You’re nuts, what are you even saying?"
Monica, who didn’t entertain nonsense, bluntly criticized him.
Yet, Oscar’s elegant face remained unchanged as if he had made a perfectly reasonable statement.
What’s there to expect from him? Monica sighed and shook her head. But that wasn’t important right now.
"Did you hear the canal leading to Benton has been blocked? There's no reaching the western district either. According to Marquis Devonshire, Cherry Sinclair’s handkerchiefs have been hung throughout the capital. There’s speculation that Cherry Sinclair has taken over the capital. But that’s too absurd, isn’t it?"
"Why is that absurd? Cherries are quite a dangerous fruit."
What do you think?
