The Necromancer is amassing troops like crazy in the apocalypse

Chapter 412 - 345, 3 People

Chapter 412: Chapter 345, 3 People

I was just 10,000 experience points away before, but I’ve been so busy with market affairs these past few days that I didn’t have the chance to level up.

Now, after two volleys of solid iron bullets, my level directly jumped to 14.

One step closer to the goal of level 15.

I opened the panel to check the experience points needed at this point.

[Name: Wu Heng]

[Level: 14 (2724/165000)]

[Attributes: Strength 34, Agility 28, Constitution 37, Intelligence 37, Perception 24, Charm 28.]

The 165,000 experience points still gave me a shock.

But on second thought, it didn’t seem like that much.

The entire Zombie World was like a dungeon for farming experience.

165,000 might seem like a lot, but considering the volume of zombies now, reaching it didn’t seem so difficult.

It wasn’t just about reaching level 15. As long as killing zombies continued to yield experience, level 18 and even level 20 were just a matter of time.

At level 18, one becomes one of the top existences in the Otherworld, where even those who have committed heinous crimes would be forgiven by various powers.

And level 20 is the pinnacle for professionals, known as heroes.

It’s said that the leaders of the association are at level 20, having become heroes.

That’s enough for the association to become a world police force.

So, in the Otherworld, strength is the ultimate truth.

All sorts of thoughts flashed through my mind.

Wu Heng closed the panel and glanced at the horde of zombies charging at us again.

He gave the command, “Archers, fire!”

Whoosh!

A rain of arrows fell from the sky, clattering as they plunged into the zombie crowd.

A large number of zombies turned into hedgehogs, falling to the ground in droves.

The zombies that had made it near us by now were only about a thousand in number, mutilated and hanging with arrows.

“Spear Array, advance!”

Rustle rustle!

The standing Spear Skeletons marched neatly forward.

Killing any zombies that hadn’t fallen.

Wu Heng followed from behind, starting to cast [Corpse Battlefield] to convert the corpses strewn all over the ground.

With each step, he turned most of the bodies into skeletons before giving the order to move on.

Heading to the next section of road to continue clearing out the zombies.

Pushing to open up the entire road as quickly as possible.

It wasn’t until dusk approached that Wu Heng finally sat back in the truck.

Returning to the old factory district.

On the way.

Qi Hancai said, “I estimate that in another two or three days, we should be able to clear out the entire road.”

“Mhm, let’s get this road cleared out in the next few days,” Wu Heng said directly.

Qi Hancai nodded and continued to make conversation, “In the past couple of days, we’ve recruited a few special skilled workers, including doctors, electricians, and equipment repair technicians. We’ve brought in a total of six people and provided them with some food according to the terms.”

“Hmm, no Superpowered Men joined us?”

“No, Superpowered Men are scarce, and I guess most of them have established their own small powers and become leaders,” Qi Hancai replied.

“Yes, that makes sense!”

In today’s world, superpowers hadn’t shown overwhelmingly lethal effectiveness.

More often, it represented the luck of the few, given the extremely low success rate.

Once a superpower was awakened, one’s thoughts wouldn’t just be about surviving and seeking basic needs; undoubtedly many would want to establish their own power.

Being a local emperor was definitely much better than living under someone else’s roof.

The likes of Qi Hancai, who brought their entire shelter to join another, were in the minority.

At least for now, Qi Hancai was the only one who had joined me; other shelters were trying to collect Gold to exchange for food and had no intention to join.

The two continued to talk about the market and base matters.

The convoy finally made it back to the old factory district.

The Skeleton Army and the vehicles entered the yard through the back gate.

Qi Hancai directed others to arrange some work. @@novelbin@@

Wu Heng also reorganized the patrolling duties of the skeletons and only when evening deepened did he take his skeletons back to Gold and Silver Island.

I had a simple dinner.

Stepping out of the courtyard, it had already grown dark.

Out of habit, I glanced at the neighboring house, where a faint light still shown behind the curtain of ‘Sha Naila’s’ study.

She was burning the midnight oil again.

I folded a paper crane and, casting [Animate Object], sent it flying toward the window where it slipped into the room.

Soon, the disheveled ‘Sha Naila’ poked her head out of the window.

She looked over in this direction and then gestured towards the rooftop.

Wu Heng nodded and quickly climbed up to the roof.

Upon reaching the rooftop.

Sha Naila took two steps back and with a running start, leaped forward, jumping directly to the opposite roof, staggering a few steps and crashing into his arms.

Wu Heng opened his arms and tightly enclosed her waist.

He had no intention of letting go.

Sha Naila broke free from the embrace, slapped the back of his hand hard, then sat down on the roof with him.

“Staying up late to work on your drawings again?” Wu Heng asked.

Sha Naila leaned into his embrace, “Just checking the accounts.”

Wu Heng continued, “You haven’t come over here for meals for several days now, Mini misses you.”

“Only Mini misses me?” Sha Naila said, “I saw you today, didn’t I! And I can’t always be running over to your place anyhow, it wouldn’t look good.”

“What’s wrong with that? It’s perfectly normal for neighbours to interact frequently!”

Sha Naila glanced askance, her hand on Wu Heng’s that was around her waist, “You call this normal neighbourly interaction?”

“No one else knows!”

Sha Naila pointed at the house across the way, “That over there is where that adultery scandal broke out, and the husband caught them in the act. I don’t want people starting rumors about me.”

“If we’re discovered, I’ll just marry you,” Wu Heng’s hand around her waist tightened again.

Sha Naila’s cheeks turned a shade rosier, and she rolled her eyes at him, “You’re quick to work out such convenient plans.”

“What? You’re not willing?”

Sha Naila gave a doting look, speaking softly, “Of course, I am. Hearing you say that makes me so happy.”

Wu Heng smiled, his hand caressing her chin, turning her face toward him.

Gazing down into her beautiful jade-like eyes.

Sha Naila’s gaze became evasive, “Wh-What are you doing? Just talking is fine, you can’t just—…”

The next second, Wu Heng leaned down and kissed her.

The struggling ‘Sha Naila’ gradually began to grow limp.

She gave the other’s shoulder a light tap and then wrapped her arms around their neck.

Wu Heng gently lifted the sleeping gown and softly explored the other’s body, smooth and silky, like caressing polished silk.

Eventually, he grabbed a fistful of soft flesh.

Sha Naila felt uncomfortable being touched all over, turned her head away, and said, “Alright, we had an agreement, don’t go too far.”

“But you just said you were willing!”

Sha Naila said with a smile, “I am willing, but given my status, the Wood Elves will never agree to me really marrying you, so I said I’d be your lover when I reach Level 15.”

It seemed to make sense.

Sha Naila largely represented the official commerce bodies of the Wood Elves.

How could they possibly permit her to divorce her current husband and be with a human man?

Sha Naila had thought of this earlier, hence the suggestion to be lovers.

Wu Heng thought for a moment and nodded, “No matter, it’s enough that we have each other in heart.”

“Mm, you’re such a good boy!”

Sha Naila complimented, lifting her head to peck his lips lightly.

The two leaned against each other and chatted for a while.

Gently feeling each other’s bodies.

Sha Naila’s face grew redder and her body softer.

Just as the two were about to come together.

The stern-faced housekeeper also arrived on the rooftop.

Without speaking, she looked towards the two of them.

Sha Naila’s face flushed, she adjusted her sleeping gown, and said, “It’s late, let’s chat next time.”

“Okay!”

Sha Naila leapt back across and, along with the housekeeper, descended from the rooftop.

Wu Heng watched them leave.

And went downstairs to rest.

Elsewhere.

In a private room of a tavern on Lighthouse Street.

The Steward of the Stag Cross-sea Commerce Association was on top of a woman, vigorously moving his hips.

Muttering at the same time, “Who knows where Starflower found such a rich patron, bringing in so much merchandise, damn it.”

The woman on the bed hummed softly, her hands pressing against the man’s chest, “My Lord, focus, stop thinking about other things at this time.”

The man nodded and said, “Then scream louder, I like to hear you scream.”

Blush spread across the woman’s face as she said, “It’s so dark, screaming too loudly will disturb others.”

“What’s there to fear, the other rooms are filled with people from our association, scream loudly, I like to hear you moan.”

“Stop it!” The woman gave a light punch and then, moving with him, began to scream loudly.

Just as the two were in the heat of passion.

And the sound was getting louder.

A voice came from the living room.

“Such good spirits!”

The man, caught up in the moment, quickly withdrew and turned to grab the weapon by the bed.

Whoosh~!

A flash of cold light passed, and a dagger precisely pierced the man’s wrist, blood gushing forth.

“Ahh~!” The woman screamed loudly.

Another dagger was thrown, piercing the woman’s throat.

The completely naked woman, in a face full of horror and shock, fell into a pool of blood.

The man looked at the woman’s corpse, fear beginning to show in his eyes.

Only then did three figures emerge from the darkness, standing in the silver moonlight at the window.

“Gentlemen, we can talk slowly about whatever it is, are you facing some difficulties? I can offer a substantial wealth.”

A voice from beneath the cloak said, “No need, your death is the best outcome.”

As the man was about to shout, the voice fell.

The three figures rushed forward, immediately killing him.

Wiping the weapon clean, they leapt out of the window and left.

The next day, early morning.

Thud, thud, thud~!

The sound of knocking followed by Mini’s voice, “Master, someone from the Association is here, please come over now.”

Wu Heng sat up and glanced at the clock beside the bed – it was a little past 6 a.m.

It seemed the association had encountered an issue.

“Alright, I know!”

After getting ready, he came downstairs to see ‘Andre Willow’ already dressed and waiting at the door.

The two didn’t stay for breakfast but went directly to the association.

Upon reaching the association’s main hall, they saw team leader Olin approaching quickly.

“Vice-executive, the Stewards are waiting for you in the morgue!”

“Wei’er, you go to the study first.”

Andre Willow nodded and headed to the study, Wu Heng continued to ask ‘Olin’, “What happened?”

As they walked, Olin said, “A Steward from a commerce association died in a tavern on Lighthouse Street. The association wants our help investigating.”

“A commerce association’s Steward? They stay in that part of Lighthouse Street?”

Olin explained, “Many commerce associations are just docking temporarily, staying in nearby inns is the most time-saving method.”

“Oh, I see,” Wu Heng nodded.

They made their way to the morgue.

In the chilly room, filled with the association’s personnel, Steward ‘Imilo’, Vice-executive ‘Xi Ligui’, Inspector Special Envoys, Coroners, Investigators, and several team leaders were present.

There were more people than dead bodies.

“Steward!” Wu Heng entered.

Imilo nodded and said, “Two people died last night, it’s quite serious, you perform Wenshi to see what’s going on.”

Wu Heng nodded, motioning the Coroner to step aside.

He turned towards the first corpse and cast [Communicate with the dead].

The body on the iron bed slowly sat up, the white shroud falling away, revealing the naked body.

Wu Heng glanced at Imilo, indicating that he could start questioning.

Imilo looked at the body and asked directly, “Who killed you?”

The body answered, “I didn’t see them, they covered their faces.”

Scratch, scratch, scratch~!

The several Investigators present started taking notes.

Imilo continued, “What traits did your killers have?”

“There were three people. The leader was a man in a black cloak, of medium height, his hair was black through the gaps under the cloak, there were two others, one had a human build with Shuangdao, and the other was tall, holding a long-handled Warhammer.”
