The Path to Becoming The Worst Villainess

Helpless Healer

The healer slowly opened her eyes, what she felt was something soft below her and a dark room. She rubbed her eyes, her vision was too blurry to even see what was going on, and she sighed in relief.

"Thank god that was just a nightmare..."

But then, her vision slowly becomes clear and sees the one thing she doesn't want ever to see. A girl, no wait, a demon, her silver hair may cover some of her blue skin but it didn't cover her completely. The girl killed another goblin and kicked its body down, then she looked at the healer's widened eyes.

"Oh, you're finally awake."

"Y-Y-You are a demon!!" The healer pointed towards the girl.

"Yeah, I'd rather not keep this secret further from you."

The healer grabbed the cloak under her and threw it at the demon girl, but it didn't land on her at all.

"G-Get away from me you demon!!" The healer tries to grab her staff but realizes she isn't anywhere near her staff.

"Hmmm? I thought you wanted to team up with me."

"W-Who said anything about teaming up with you!? I-I was just trying to stay alive!"

"And you are alive right?"

"W-Well... Y-Yeah... b-but that doesn't mea-

The demon appeared right in front of her in a split second, she looked at her dead in the eyes, and her cold and sharp gaze immediately sent the healer to close her eyes and look to the side. But the demon girl holds the healer's chin and keeps it in front of her.

"You know... If you didn't show your resurrection on that warrior yesterday... your fate will be the same as those 3 of your colleagues..."

The demon girl's hand tightly guided the girl's head in a direction.

"Open your eyes and look at their state now."

The healer was too scared to open her eyes, then she felt a sharp pain in her neck once again.

"You are following my order. Open. Your. EYES."

The healer quickly opened her eyes and what she sees is a horrifying scene. Her colleagues have been cut up to pieces beside their heads. The healer then closes her eyes but the demon girl's finger forces one of her eyes to be opened.

"Look at them... So sad... You could've met the same fate as them... being cut to pieces and getting eaten by me..."

The healer looked at the demon girl and almost peed her skirt after what she just heard.

"Y-Y-You eat them!?"

"They were delicious~"

The healer is about to scream but the demon girl closes her mouth right away as if she knows what's about to happen.

"Now you keep quiet about this. I don't tolerate humans, one wrong move and you end up becoming my meal, got it?"

The healer slowly nodded her head and the demon girl's hand uncovered her mouth.

"Hah... Hah... W-Who the hell are you?" The healer asked.

"Me? I should be the one asking you."

"L-Layla... Layla Hikirima..."

"Ahko." The demon girl patted the healer's shoulder.

"Ahko... Wait a minute... that sounds... familiar..." And then it hits her.

"Y-You are the G rank girl!!" The healer realized

"Well, it looks like I couldn't escape my backstory..."

"H-How the hell did you become this powerf- It's because you became a demon!"

"I guess that makes sense." Ahko shrugged

"Make sense!? You just betrayed the humanit-"

"Humanity! BETRAYED! Me..." Ahko grabbed the healer by her neck and started choking her.

"Cough Cough S-Stop!" The healer says in desperation.

Ahko snapped back to reality and released her grip, the healer fell to the ground, coughing.

Ahko took a step back, grabbed her cloak, and hid her face.

"Don't talk about my past."

She walks to the outside of the entrance and continues walking until she reaches the portal. She closed her eyes and exited the portal, jumping back to the outside. With a bag, she got from the archer. She takes a look at the surrounding fields that have been covered in purple blood and monster cores. She opened her bag showing that the bag had been filled halfway with the goblin cores inside the dungeon alongside the boss core and the dungeon core, and then she took every single goblin core.

Meanwhile Layla sitting on the ledge while still coughing, even though it's only a few seconds but Ahko's grip is so much tougher than what Layla can endure. A second or two more and she would've been dead and become the meal like her colleagues. She saw Ahko disappears to the outside of the entrance, she couldn't see it but she can feel Ahko's rage.

"Humanity betrayed her..." Layla nodded in understanding.

She stands up, gets her healer staff from under the corpses of her friends then walk to the outside of the portal. Outside, she sees Ahko collecting the monster cores that are scattered everywhere.

She walks up to Ahko and pokes her on the back.

"Hey... I-I'm sorry about what happened to you... I forgot you have gone through a lot of stuff..."

Ahko pulls down her hood and stares into Layla's eyes. She then pointed at her 2 small horns.

"You see these?

"Y-Yeah, what about it?" Layla asked

"The more these grow the more I lose my humanity so don't talk to me about those things or what I will do to you is much worse than just simply slicing your head."

"I-I-I-I thought you gonna say "I forgive you." Or something, you don't have to threaten me more!"

"It'll be sad to see my humanity losing every day, I can already feel it... If it was a younger me, I wouldn't kill your friends..." She says while looking at the sky

"W-What the hell are you saying? Are you in your own little world right now?"

"I don't regret my decision when meeting that demon even if it means losing my humanity."

"...When do you think your humanity will be gone..?"

"I don't know but soon."

"I guess she doesn't know either..."

"Forget about that, help me collect all these cores."

"... Did you kill all these goblins too?"

"Of course."

"I see..."

Once they collect the cores, Ahko destroys the dungeon core.

"This exp requirement is getting out of hand."

When the dungeon core was destroyed, a crest appeared on her palm. Then they go back into the deep forest.

"Layla is this crest stackable?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"For example, I destroy a dungeon, then I destroy another one, will a second crest appeared?"

"I think so... I don't know it'll appeared on your other palm."

"Alright. I'll ask the guilds when we go back to the pathway."

"I don't know how to set camp... But I think there's a camp me and my party made 2 days ago."

"Why would we need to go to a camp?"

"Uhm.. To rest...? The journey from here to the path at least takes a couple of days and to make things worse, we don't have a map..."

"Really? Your party must been very weak then. Take my hand, don't throw up." Ahko extends her hand.

"H-huh?"

"System, make a pathway to the Priya City."

"Due to the low level of the System, the system couldn't make a pathway to the Priya City but the system could put a map showing where user are."

"That'll work too."

"Understood"

A panel of a map only Ahko can see shows up revealing that they are currently in the southwest side of the forest while the path going to the Priya City is on the northwest side and continues going up.

"You ready?" Ahko extends her hand further.

"I-I don't what are you gonna d- AAAAHHHH!!"

Ahko forcefully grabbed Layla's hand and sprinted, her speed was so fast that Layla couldn't dodge all the tree branches hitting on her face. Her speed is nowhere near what she could've imagined.

Minutes later, they arrived at the pathway. Ahko released her grip and Layla fell to the ground, almost puking, and covering her face with her hand.

"W-What the hell was that!?" Layla screamed in confusion and anger

"What? I told you to be ready." Ahko answered

"I wasn't okay! I thought we gonna do some normal walking stuff but no! You just ran as fast as the speed of sound!"

"Whatever it's only a small injury just heal yourself, but anyways, we're here."

"Tch. Small heal..." Layla's hand glows and her bruised face and cuts slowly heal until it goes back to normal.
