The Princess And The Lord

Chapter 1299 The Alvette Family

Chapter 1299  The Alvette Family

"Oh, shoot, I dropped my cell phone!" Lory Msegera took the phone from the car floor and then checked the telephone screen, Lory sighed when there was still no news from Zhao Li Xin.

"There is still no news," Lydia said sympathetically.

Lory smiled disappointed "Um, not yet,"

"It's already amazing that Mr. Zhao can give news while in a labyrinth, usually, it is not possible to contact the outside once you get in a place like that, that's why there is only a hunter experience that is allowed to enter such a place," Lydia said.

"Yes, I know ... But I'm sure he will be fine, the man is too hard to die after everything ..." Lory might be heard joking but knowing how Zhao Li Xin survived the Imperial Palace and World Cultivator with poison deadly on his body.

Her logic told her that Zhao Li Xin would not die in a place like Labyrinth, but Lory can't stop feeling uneasy after weeks without news from Zhao Li Xin, so he decided after this she would visit the Labyrint herself, who cares if Zhao Li Xin scolded her, after all she was used to being scolded by him.

"Look, is that Arlo Cawthorne!" Lydia nudged Lory Arms.

Lory took a single binocular from the car dashboard pressed it to her eyes and watched people from the black sedan stop in front of the Aeon entrance then greeted by a few men and women who seemed the executives of the Aeon.

"Yes, that is Arlo Cawthorne," Lory magnified the lense then saw a man in his mid - thirty with brown hair, fair skin, and one big bright smile, even though he didn't look exceptionally handsome or manly but he had his own charm.

"Where!" Lydia took her binoculars to take a look "He looks gentle and approachable, he doesn't look like the man Lloyd said, he looks pretty harmless, don't you think?" "Yeah, they tend to look like that" Lory snickered.

Lory then continues to check who the other people are, and then she recognizes some of them "...And that must be Amanda Haynes, and that one is Elena Reynolds...the whole gank is here...Amanda is as beautiful as Elena, must be the genes right~" Lory makes a playful comment.

"They are also very smart and ambitious" Lydia didn't care about their appearance, it was their abilities that she worried about.

"Well, they had to if they wanted to reach the position they had" Lory put down the binoculars

A moment later, Lory's cell phone rang again, Lory answered briskly "Yup!"

"Yo, princess, the situation just got a bit tricky" Garrof sounds miffed

Lory frowns "What's up?"

"We got three Dragxtarn and maybe an Argus agent escorting Arlo and Amanda," said Garrof.

Lory raised her binoculars again and then immediately noticed three men with strong built and grim expressions that she suspected to be Dragxtarn and a group of men in black suits who were probably Argus agents.

"We kind of expected it, are we not?" Lory said.

Lory raised the binoculars again and then saw three people with black leather jackets who were suspected to be Dragxtarn beside them there was also a group of men in black suits who were probably Argus agents.

"We expected that, didn't we?" Lory said.

"Yeah, right," Garrof laughed dryly.

"So, have you got the floor of the building?" Lory asked.

"I'm still working on it" Garrof whispered then suddenly they heard a woman's voice.

"Who do you call babe?"

"My sister, she told me to buy her something!" Garrof lied without a hitch.

"Since you are busy I will not bother you, oh don't forget to get my thing, brother!" Lory teased.

"Yeah, see you, sis!" Garrof hangs up the phone.

Lory stares at her phone then shakes her head and smiles. Garrof truly reminds her of Fargo.

"Your Highness, what should we do now?" Lydia turns to Lory.

"Can you guys just call me Lory..."Lory groan. She had asked them to call her Lory but they subtly refuted her, a guest that made them feel uneasy.

Lydia rubbed her cheek with a troubled expression "But...but it doesn't feel right, this is still too difficult for me, how about I just call you Raven or Jane!" Lydia blinked her eyes innocently. @@novelbin@@

'Both of them aren't her real names, though' Lory's eyes twitched.

Lory sighed as she waved her hand "Okay... okay, call me whatever you want" Lory could only surrender to his fate, she then put on sunglasses and started the car engine.

"Where are we going, princess?" Lydia said while wearing a seat belt.

"Shopping!" Lory grin.

Not long after, Lory parked his car in front of a small weapons shop that looked deserted.

"Weapons shop?" Lydia was surprised, she thought Lory would take her shopping, but she felt a little disappointed.

"Let's go!" Lory opened the car door and got out.

Lydia hurried to follow Lory, she glanced briefly at the white horse logo in the shop window with the words 'Bellerophon'

They entered a shop that, although small, was very luxurious inside with shiny wooden paneling and crystal chandeliers hanging from the roof, they were greeted by a shop assistant in an elegant and luxurious uniform that did not look flashy or excessive.

"Welcome to Bellerophon, may I help you?" the shop assistant greeted them corsteously.

"Can I meet the shop manager, I have a special order," Lory showed his hunter identity.

The shop assistant nodded politely "Certainly, please follow me" he gave a polite gesture for Lory to follow him.

Lory then turns to Lydia "I'm gonna talk to the manager, why don't you check the stuff in the store, see if there's anything you like" Lory winked.

Lydia knew Lory probably wanted to have a private conversation therefore she readily agreed, "Okay, I'm gonna be over there"

Once Lory left, Lydia looked around her and then casually checked one of the daggers on the display, the quality of the weapon in this store was indeed superb, however when she checked the price her eyes almost jumped from its socket. One dagger cost more than her three years her salary in the S.A.I.N.T. organization!!

'SO EXPENSIVE!'

Lydia carefully put the dagger back in its place and did not dare to touch anything anymore. if she accidentally breaks one of the items in this shop, then she will be forced to sell herself to work in this shop for free for who knows how many years.

Lory headed towards the counter where a frail-looking old man with droopy eyes behind round glasses was checking some papers with trembling hands. The shop assistant whisper to the old man then the old man put down the paper in his hand the turned his gaze to Lory.

"Welcome, how may I help you" The old man's voice was weak and hoarse showing his obvious old age.

"I need a weapon" Lory smiled kindly.

"Oh," The old man waves his hand and the shop assistant left knowingly. The old man then asked again "What kind of weapons you need, we have some nice collections...as you can see" The old man raised his frail-shaking hand as he offered politely.

However it didn't bother Lory, "I need a special weapon, a sword to be precise" "We have several sword collections, what kinda of sword do you want, miss?" The old man smiled broadly.

"A sword with chain..." Lory's eyes deepened.

The man's trembling hands stopped for a second but his expression remained the same, "A sword in chain? what a peculiar sword, what it's that all you need?" The old man's eyes glint.

"It also needs wings on it, for protection," Lory smile meaningfully

"What do you want to protect miss?" The old man looks at Lory cautiously.

Lory took off her sunglasses and then said with an unwavering tone "To protect the King"

Their eyes lock with each other for a brief moment then the old man gives the usual polite smile "That's a very special sword you asked, would like to follow me?"

Lory nods faintly "Of course"

"Oh, what about the other lady?" The old man shifts his eyes to Lydia who comes at them.

"No, but she will need a special suit to hunt," Lory said.

Lydia looks at Lory with an oblivious expression.

The old man understood the situation, he tapped the bell on the table then a few seconds later a woman came.

"Help this lady to find a suitable suit for hunted," The old man gives the order to his assistant, then the old man turns his head back to Lory again "What kind of clothes do you need?"

Lory sizes Lydia's posture and then says "I need a suit that has Impact and fire resistance and also reduces detection, find her a good protective charm to enhance the suit's ability as well"

"Very well" The old man then signed his assistant to escort Lydia to get the things she needed.

Lydia looked at Lory in shock, after finding out the prices of this shop Lydia almost shouted 'NO!' but, Lory gave her a reassurance smile "Go with her, I'll see you soon"

Lydia swallowed hard then forced a smile "O...okay" Lydia could only trust Lory that she would not sell her to this shop.

Lory followed the old man to a private room, which was actually just a small office with a desk and a cupboard. The old man then opened and closed the cupboard which looked messy but Lory knew it was some kind of mechanic for something.

As expected, the cabinet was split in two and a ladder appeared to lead down.

"Please" the old man made a polite gesture for Lory to follow him.

Lory followed the old man down the stairs.

"It's been a long time since I met a Noxcra agent," said the old man.

The conversation they exchanged was actually a secret code, Lory was relieved they still not changed the code.

"You guys aren't easy to find, It takes a long time to surf the Net to find your store" Lory answered in a casual tone.

"Good things shouldn't be easy to find otherwise how would we pass on hefty fees to our clients, exclusivity is the key to every high-end product" the old man chuckles slyly.

Lory rolled her eyes inwardly, 'Are all old businessmen like this?'

The old man then continued, "After all, there aren't many of us left after the Dark Age war so our shop can't handle too many orders" There's a hint of bitterness in his tone.

"Please accept my sincere condolences, we were grateful for your help to protect the L'markieth and your unwavering support for the King's Man" Lory sincerely said.

The old man waves his hand nonchalantly, "Don't mention it, we are after all fellow citizens of Harland moreover, we owe too much to the Lucient family, and compared to us the Lucient family made far greater sacrifices, The death of the late King and princess of Lorient is truly...regrettable."

Sadness flashed across Lory's face but she quickly composed herself "It was a huge blow to our kingdom"

"...And also for the world, it trully a great loss for the world to lose them" The old man let out a heavy sigh.

They finally arrived in a large underground room filled with all kinds of weapons lying on display tables and behind glass cabinets.

"This is our best weapons collection, do you need my help to choose Miss?" the old man clasped his hands tightly on his stomach, no longer trembling, and his back was straight as a pole with his eyes sparkling with vigor. He no longer looked like the previous frail old man, then again, this old man had the same ancestor as Zargan and Fargo so how could he be so weak, Lory was certain this old man could subdue Garrof and Lloyd without any problem.
