Chapter 177: Josephine and Drake are dating

As Isabella heard Mr. White’s proposal, her pulse raced. She was taken aback by his proposal. “Mr. White, I’m not sure if I’m interested,” she said, making an effort to appear composed.

“You’re wrong, Isabella. This is an opportunity of a lifetime. I will be your immediate supervisor, and I will see to it that you are well taken care of. You won’t be sorry,” Mr. White stated in a convincing tone.

Uncertain of what to do, Isabella hesitated. She didn’t want to get embroiled in any dubious activities, but she couldn’t resist Mr. White’s offer. She considered her current predicament—being pregnant and alone—and found herself drawn to the protection that Mr. White’s proposal provided.

I’ll give it some thought, Mr. White. Isabella tried to buy some time by saying, “I’ll get back to you soon.”

“Excellent, Isabella. Don’t take too long, though. “Time is critical,” Mr. White stated in a stern voice.

Isabella hung up the phone, her thoughts racing. She was at a loss for what to do. Though she wasn’t sure if she wanted to include Vincent in her issues, she considered asking him for assistance.

She noticed that Randall was already at a table, enjoying a cup of coffee, as she walked up to the diner. Taking a deep breath, she followed him, attempting to ignore Mr. White’s suggestion.

“Hi, dear. “How do you feel right now?” With a look of concern, Randall enquired.

“I’m doing fine, Randall. Just a little weary,” Isabella retorted, attempting to seem reasonable.

With a nod, Randall surveyed her features. “You are somewhat pale. Are you certain you’re alright?”

Isabella gritted her teeth. “Randall, I’m good. Would you please just enjoy our meal?”

With a nod from Randall, they placed their meal order. Mr. White’s suggestion kept coming to Isabella’s mind while they waited for their hot pot to arrive. Though she was conflicted, she realised she had to make a choice soon.
