Chapter 111: 15: Solution to Identity Issue
Chapter 111: Chapter 15: Solution to Identity Issue
Ming Group’s vehicles exited the Lin Family residence.
In the middle vehicle, Ming Hui and Ming Yu sat in the back seat.
“Brother, are we just going to let this go?” Ming Yu held his face, which was crooked from a punch by Xu Mo.
“That bitch, Lin Xi.” Ming Yu cursed, “And that bastard, I want him dead.”
“You’re losing your patience?” Ming Hui glanced at Ming Yu, comfortably leaning back in his seat, swirling his glass of wine in hand.
“When can we take her down?” Ming Yu’s eyes were cold.
Because of two servants, he actually got punched and was made to apologize.
Even if he was a wastrel, he cared about his face.
If this got out, where would he put his face?
Of course, the apology was Ming Hui’s doing, but he seemed to bear no resentment towards Ming Hui.
“If they are looking for death themselves, let’s just step up the effort.” Ming Hui spoke indifferently and addressed the driver in front, “Go back and check the identities of those servants.”
Lin Xi actually offended them for the sake of servants.
At this critical time, it didn’t seem right.
“Yes.” The driver responded.
“Once the Lin clan is finished, Brother, you should ‘punish’ that bitch Lin Xi well.” Ming Yu spoke sinisterly.
However, speaking of which, that bitch’s figure was truly explosive.
Every time he saw it, he drooled with longing, wishing he could take a closer look.
But Lin Xi was his brother Ming Hui’s prey, not yet his turn.
What he thought about was merely to play with that stupid woman Lin Jian.
“I will.” Ming Hui swirled his wine glass, a faint smile curled on his lips.
He was already picturing Lin Xi kneeling beneath his legs.
Back in the academy, Ming Hui had set his sights on Lin Xi.
He had tried to get close, but failed.
Ming Hui had never forgotten this incident.
The prey he set his sights on rarely ended in failure.
In the academy, he had toyed with many women who were seen as proud daughters of heaven from an outsider’s perspective, but they were all his prey.
He enjoyed the sensation of ‘hunting’; those too easily obtained no longer satisfied him.
This time, both the Lin clan and Lin Xi were his prey.
The Lin Family.
On the training ground, Lin Xi and Xu Mo were sparring.
The clash of sword and knife was intense, Lin Xi controlling her strength, not using her Source Power Level to suppress Xu Mo.
In doing so, she found herself unable to defeat Xu Mo.
In terms of sword technique, Xu Mo was in no way inferior to her.
She felt like Xu Mo was continuously improving.
Even serving to train her swordsmanship.
This way, Xu Mo seemed not so much as a sparring partner for Lin Jian, but rather for her.
The crisp sounds of collision echoed as their weapons parted, and both stepped back.
Beneath the battle armor, they both were drenched in sweat.
However, Lin Xi felt exhilarated.
The frustrating emotions she previously suppressed had eased somewhat.
Compared to scheming and intrigue, she preferred straightforward combat.
No need for so many mind games.
That’s why after graduating, even though her father wanted her to join the company for training, she didn’t, instead choosing to remain at school as an instructor.
An instructor is in fact a tutor, and it’s not as demanding as Qin Fu and others imagined.
The requirements for a teacher were higher.
But she liked this job more.
“You’re improving really fast.” Lin Xi spoke to Xu Mo.
“It’s because I’m sparring with Miss Lin Xi,” Xu Mo replied humbly.
In reality, it wasn’t that he was improving fast, but that he hadn’t been using his full strength.
He had a hang.
He was constantly adjusting, adapting to Lin Xi’s rhythm, ensuring that his sword technique was just able to match Lin Xi’s sword, which in turn was helpful for her.
“From now on, you don’t need to call me Miss Lin Xi, it sounds a bit strange, just call me Sister Xi.” Lin Xi took off her battle armor.
Beneath it she wore a tight-fitting sports top, her curvaceous lines perfectly moulded, with even her abdominal muscles showing.
Her long black hair cascaded down, emanating a mature appeal.
“Sister Xi,” Xu Mo nodded.
He felt somewhat frustrated internally, why was he always subjected to such inadvertent impacts?
It was tough.
Lin Xi moved to the side to wipe her sweat and said to Xu Mo, “Don’t go out recently.”
Xu Mo was startled, knowing that Lin Xi must be referring to the Ming Group incident.
“Did I ruin Sister Xi’s business?” Xu Mo felt somewhat apologetic.
He really didn’t care much about Lin Yuan and Lin Jian, but Lin Xi truly treated him well.
Always trying to help him.
Arranging work for them, wanting to give them a boost so they could stand on their own in Steel Dome City.
Lin Xi shook her head.
“Ming Hui used to be with the academy; we’ve known each other for a long time. Many people in the academy admired him, but as far as I know, he’s done some not-too-decent things,” Lin Xi began.
She had heard that Ming Hui had toyed with many people’s emotions, so she had never had a good impression of him.
Lin Xi continued, “If this is Ming Group moving into the game, their intention is not likely to aid the Lin clan, but more likely to takeover.”
In a time of crisis for the company, her father might have gotten somewhat desperate.
Or rather, father might not have many solutions left.
From this perspective, the company may already be on the brink of danger.
Xu Mo didn’t understand the Ming Group well, and he understood even less about the company’s operations; he didn’t like overly complicated matters and preferred thrilling adventures instead.
However, having observed Ming Yu’s character and the fact that Ming Hui only emerged at the last moment, Xu Mo also agreed with Lin Xi’s opinion.
Ming Hui might be very crafty.
“Follow me,” Lin Xi said, draping a thin gauze coat around her body and leading Xu Mo into a room.
Xu Mo immediately felt an energy field.
It was the Source Power House, the Cultivation Room.
“This is the Source Power Cultivation Room. From now on, you can cultivate Source Power here where absorption will be quicker. However, the key still lies in the fusion degree. With a low fusion degree, your absorption capability is limited. No matter how strong the Source Power Field is, your body can’t absorb it,” Lin Xi explained.
Lin Xi continued, “But you shouldn’t have this problem.”
She predicted that Xu Mo’s Source Power should be at Level B, and he even might have a chance to reach B+ standard.
Xu Mo naturally knew what this place was.
Cultivating in the Cultivation Room meant directly consuming Source Power Blocks.
And the consumption was swift.
Source Power Blocks were a scarce resource in the Underworld, monopolized by few.
It wasn’t as expensive above ground, but even so, a single Source Power Block still cost over a hundred Federation dollars. To cultivate for an extended time was to burn money.
Just from working, one couldn’t earn that many Federation dollars.
“Thank you, Sister Xi,” Xu Mo expressed his gratitude.
“From now on, you don’t need to pay attention to Lin Jian. Just focus on your cultivation,” Lin Xi said further.
She had initially wanted Xu Mo to help Lin Jian improve.
But Lin Jian was very resistant to this, developing a rebellious mindset, and didn’t like Xu Mo.
In that case, there was no need to let the two of them interact anymore.
“Is there anything you need me to do?” Xu Mo asked.
To live on someone else’s charity? It didn’t seem right.
“You don’t need to do anything,” Lin Xi replied. “The academy will be starting soon, and when the time comes, I’ll take you to test your Source Power Fusion Degree. If your fusion degree is high, and your strength is not bad, I’ll plea for you and see if the academy elders are willing to help.”
“If the academy elders are willing to help, your identity card issue could also be solved in passing.”
Xu Mo felt touched by Lin Xi’s words.
He had never experienced such feelings on his journey from the Underworld.
Miss Mia was pure and kind-hearted, but he was actually more mature than Mia.@@novelbin@@
Lin Xi truly gave him a sense of being cared for.
“Why are you willing to help me like this, Sister Xi?” Xu Mo inquired.
Just because of what happened in the ruins?
He owed nothing to Lin Xi, after all.
It was Lin Xi who had fought her way to them, buying them time, and then he had fought his way back to help her.
Lin Xi was indeed caught off guard by Xu Mo’s question.
The specific reason was not very clear.
Perhaps it was because Xu Mo had saved her, or maybe it was the appreciation she felt toward him mixed with sympathy for what he had been through.
And there was the recognition of his talent.
It would be a pity to see talent like Xu Mo’s go to waste.
In this era, truly outstanding people were rare.
Being an instructor at the academy, she might carry some of the academy’s way of thinking.
“Maybe, I started to see you as one of my students,” Lin Xi mused with a smile. “Don’t get too excited just yet; it’s still a try. We’re not sure about your exact fusion degree yet. If it’s B level, the academy elders might not intervene. If it’s B+, there might be some possibility.”
“Understood,” Xu Mo nodded, aware of the implications.
To ask for help from others, one naturally needed to demonstrate an appropriate level of ability.
Otherwise, why should anyone help you?
Especially the academy elders, who likely had seen many talented individuals.
The two talked as they walked outside, leaving the basement and emerging outside.
Ye Qingdie was talking with Elsa, seemingly trying to comfort her.
Xu Mo knew that although Sister Butterfly had a grudge with Secretary Jin, she was very sympathetic to Elsa’s situation.
Especially after Elsa had taken that hit for him in the Arena, Ye Qingdie’s attitude toward Elsa changed significantly.
Seeing Elsa, Lin Xi sighed to herself.
Humans loathed monsters, their sworn enemies, so genetic warriors with prominent monster features faced prejudice, especially since some genetic warriors had volatile personalities and were prone to losing control, leading to a high crime rate.
Consequently, genetic warriors with obvious traits had always faced discrimination, a result of the overarching environment, which was not easy to change.
As long as Elsa’s wings remained, her life was destined to be filled with such discrimination.
Unless she moved to a gathering place for genetically modified people.
“In the future, look after Elsa a bit more,” Lin Xi instructed Xu Mo.
Xu Mo was momentarily taken aback, then seemed to understand Lin Xi’s meaning and nodded earnestly.
He was also gradually realizing the low status of genetically modified people.
Lin Xi glanced at the night sky, still somewhat troubled.
She took a step forward, removed her coat, and jumped into the swimming pool.
In the pool, Lin Xi’s figure swam like a mermaid, soon emerging at the other end.
Shaking off her hair, Lin Xi ran her hands through it, pulling it back, revealing the proud curves of her body against the water.
Resting her hands on the edge of the pool, Lin Xi gazed into the distance with a tranquil night around her, yet her heart was anything but calm.
The destiny of the Lin Family, where would it go from here?
She wasn’t worried for herself; even if the Lin Family went bankrupt, she could still be part of the academy. But her father and Lin Jian, she feared, would not be able to bear it.
What do you think?
